RSS feeds
You can subscribe to our RSS feed by using the button in the side bar.
If you don't have a feed reader or your browser doesn't support RSS feeds, there are several online options available from the buttons on the right, for the RSS feed as well as for bookmarking this site.
You can download our latest OPML file, which is basically a file that has all the feeds we - the contributors here at Totally Fuzzy - are monitoring for the daily updates, from this page http://totallyfuzzy.blogspot.com/2007/06/complete-opml-file.html.
What's New?
One important change is that from now on we will try to focus on NEW blogs and sites, on Totally Fuzzy. With NEW we mean, blogs and sites that haven't been posted here yet. The daily updates from the blogs that we have already been posting here before, you should really get yourself by using their RSS feed. The constant updates from so many blogs are becoming too much of a hassle. That's why we would like to start focussing on new blogs and on different blogs and sites. Instead of just copying and pasting all the update comments our contributors are encouraged to go searching for new blogs and sites. Updates will, for now at least, be posted grouped together in one post, every couple of hours or so, instead of each one as a seperate post. In the near future updates might not be posted at all anymore, so you're well advised to start using the RSS feed of your favourite blogs.
You will see that in the end, once you get used to using RSS feeds, you'll be far better off than having to visit here every day. Newsfeeds have been around for several years by now, so it's about time for a "technology update". ;)
Google Account Required
Everybody that wants to post or comment here will have to sign up for a free Google account. Anonymous posts or comments are not allowed. All comments will be monitored.
Why Blogspot/Blogger?
First and foremost : better RSS feed support. The RSS feed on our old site was just too limited. We now have a lot more options, we can have images, clips and links and whatever else in our RSS feed. Add to that: easier management of comments via email and several other things that blogspot/blogger has to offer, that will make things a lot easier and more practical for all of us. And since the majority of blogs we've been posting so far are on blogspot/blogger, why wouldn't we?
The Clip Box
Want to listen to some music while scrolling down these pages, or even watch a clip? Just pick a clip from the clip box, hover over the small image and it will popup more info. The youtube video will start playing at the top of the page. Every time the page reloads another set of clips should be displayed and after a good minute or so the images will change also, rotating through the whole "playlist", so you can pick any clip you like. We're still experimenting with this new blogger feature, trying to create a good and varied playlist, but it'll happen.
Contributors wanted!
People that feel they have something to contribute here are welcome. We're looking for contributors that would like to specialize in a specific music genre for example and that are willing to go search for and keep an eye on blogs that are devoted to that style of music and that are willing to post here regularly, that doesn't have to be daily, just regularly.
All genres are welcome, be they progressive, alternative, psych, blues, jazz, classic, heavy metal, pop, rap, bossa nova, tango or whatever else one could come up with. The wider the spectrum of what we can offer the better. We also would like to offer more foreign language - or rather non-english - music, so if you know where to find any of those and want to be a contributor here, leave us a comment.
And what is yet to come?
We'll soon start compiling seperate OPML files that you can use in your own feedreader, those will contain newsfeeds of all the blogs offering specific genres or time periods. So you can get most of the info you're interested in delivered straight to your feed reader/browser. Those OPML files will be made available for download to all our visitors.
But first we'll have to get this new site up and running though, so you'll have to give us some time.
Our Goal
To be entertaining and to be entertained! Some of the boring routines will have to go and some new fun and a sense of "exploration" and "discovery" will have to be brought back in again, instead of all the infinite copy & paste.
We're NOT limited to music blog postings only. You can expect a videoclip every now and then, as well as some news that might be relevant to anybody using mp3 or digital audio in particular and even the internet in general. I won't be too specific, because then we would no longer be fuzzy. ;)
ADDENDUM : What has changed?
Bloggers that want us to post their updates, please post those always on this page.
That means no longer in the comments of the last post, but always on the same page http://totallyfuzzy.blogspot.com/2007/05/post-your-updates-here.html. You might want to bookmark that page for faster access.
