Totally Fuzzy is the name, music discovery is the game.
(Click to read if you're new here...)

Welcome to Totally Fuzzy, once your guide to the music blogosphere, now fully converted into an indie/rock/pop/metal/anything really - music blog, loaded with official and legal full album streams. Because music is something to listen to, and not something to talk or read about, we have chosen this approach, carving out our own little niche in the music blogosphere.

And we're still running our Class A Music Video site a.k.a. The Fuzzy Tube, with well over 35.000 hand picked High Quality music videos.

Internet Explorer users please read this

For our video and stream player popup windows to work correctly you'll have to change the default tab settings in IE, read here how

Your feedback.

Comments, opinions, criticisms, suggestions are welcome as long as they're constructive. If you can't be polite you're likely to find your post deleted without further comment.

There will be no discussions about rules that we have already collectively agreed upon and that have been implemented. We're willing to listen, but we will not justify our decisions to those who are unwilling to accept them. All personal attacks, accusations and "flaming" will be deleted without further comments.

We are doing our best to provide our visitors as well as music bloggers with a valuable service, but we're nobody's slave. We're trying to be good hosts, but we shall not be abused by our "guests".

If you're willing to help us improve the site or you'd like to ask us something you're welcome to do so and we'll be happy to listen and help if we can.

What Is Totally Fuzzy?

Welcome to totally fuzzy v3.0 *

As of April 7th 2011 we have decided to steer this blog in a different direction, leaving behind us the aggregation activities that it all started with, and become a music blog, offering legal and full album streams.

In October 2003 when herr k started totally fuzzy, it was the very first mp3 and music blog aggregator. Nowadays, with mega sites like hypem, MOG and elbo.ws and a couple of hundred other - rather poor - attempts at being aggregators out there, there's no point to it anymore. It's getting very close to the absurd situation where there's almost more aggregators than music blogs to aggregate! Circumstances have changed, so we might as well go with the flow. Where mp3 and downloads were once pretty much the only way to sample anything before buying, the current streaming services are a far better way to introduce good music to a larger audience. They offered too great an opportunity to not do something with them. So I did.

Here the Road Map for the near future as I see it. These changes will be implemented gradually.

- We'll gradually be winding down the aggregation activities. No new blogs will be accepted anymore.
- Occasional Daily Digests called "Blogspotting" will replace what was known as "updates" .
- One or more Daily Digests for news from other blogs (planned)
- One or more Daily Digests of Music News (planned)
- We'll gradually shift to scheduled postings to deal with global time differences. (And because I have to for private/professional reasons)

--

Restrictions : no new releases, no DVDs
Out of respect for musicians and labels alike we will attempt not to post anything that is not at least two years old in our "blogspotting" feature. That period will probably widen in the future. I use the word "attempt" because it is simply not possible to know everything about all genres in all countries, so if a new release would slip through, that is unintentionally and regrettable.

We have extended the restrictions to DVDs, since those are clearly merchandising and don't have anything to do with any "sample before you buy" policy.

DISCLAIMER:

Totally Fuzzy occasionally lists music blogs, in an irregular feature called "blogspotting". That is not to be interpreted as if we are intentionally promoting piracy. We support and respect the artists, writers, editors and producers who create original content. Since we are in no position to tell other people what to do on their blogs and we have no "policing" powers and since we ourselves do not have anything to do with uploads or anything else that might happen on the blogs that get listed here, it should be clear that if anybody has any problem with any of the blogs that do get listed here they should contact the blog's owners directly, according to DMCA laws and guidelines.

The Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 (the "DMCA") provides recourse for copyright owners who believe that material appearing on the Internet infringes their rights under U.S. copyright law. If you believe in good faith that materials we link to infringe your copyright, you (or your agent) should contact that blog directly requesting that they remove the links to the files posted. Since we do not link to any audio files directly, there is no point in anybody contacting us to remove anything.

Totally Fuzzy users are encouraged to enjoy legitimate streamed music and support artists by purchasing the music after sampling it online.

We do not offer any downloads on this site and we don't link to any downloads directly either.

Therefore
Totally Fuzzy cannot be held responsible or liable for whatever may happen on any of the third party blogs and websites that get listed here and that we link to.

We expect all our visitors to behave according to the laws of the country in which they live. Since there are many countries with many different laws and positions in the discussions on copyrights and file-sharing we cannot be expected to enforce our own or somebody else's position that might not be compatible with the laws of the country our visitors live in.

Our visitors should also understand that if they don't support the artists, either by buying the music they like, or by visiting their concerts or by buying merchandise or in any other way, the result ultimately can only be counter-productive and will hurt the music affectionados themselves as much as it will hurt the artists.

v1.0 was the original, started by herr k on antville.org.
v2.0 was after the move to blogspot
v3.0 is the current one, no more blog aggregation, but offering full album streams.

Promote yourself or your Indie Band on Totally Fuzzy

A blog like this, with the visitor numbers we have, can be a magnificient promotion tool for any starting artist or band. That's why we call upon all musicians and fans around here to get a little more activity going. We got visitors from all over the world, so if you're a local suburban Australian indie band - just to give some example - looking for some international exposure we want to hear from you.

Here's some options:

1. DIY - Upload a couple of your own tracks - at least a 4+ track EP please - somewhere like soundcloud, bandcamp, reverbnation etc and write up a little promo text, make sure you include a short biography and post it in a comment below, so we can post it on the blog. We don't usually post youtube videos only, we really need a stream we can embed, a video can be included/added as an extra but a video only will NOT do.

Please don't forget to add: a link to your website, your facebook, your myspace, your twitter and some pics (at least one band pic, minimum size 460x300px).

2. If you already have a PR agent, just let them contact us by posting a comment BELOW. All comments will be emailed to us almost immediately.

It doesn't matter whether you're a blues artist, hardcore heavy metal, a singer-songwriter, rapper, remixer, electro, classical... all genres and styles are equally welcome.

Cheers

=M=

PLEASE NOTE:
1. It can happen that we have so many streams available that you'll have to wait a while. But I do always check them eventually.

2. We try to be as broadminded as we can but sometimes something is just too bad, or recorded too poorly to post, please respect our right to determine that. It doesn't happen very often. Maybe better luck next time.

3. We prefer full album streams. We do normally NOT post single tracks or singles, unless you make them available as a free download, then we can include them in our daily freebies post with a short promo text.

4. Look closely at any album stream post on our blog and you'll see how they always follow a strict template. Then you'll also see what we need to be able to properly promote you and why.
