The Foreign Resort - Danish Distortions (streams)

Some New Wave noise rock, from Copenhagen, Denmark, where Shoegaze meets Joy Division. The perfect antidote against all the Royal Wedding hysteria going round! Geez! Here we are, barely survived the Mexican Swine flu and now we have to put up with this outbreak of British Upperclass Pig Flu? Where's the WHO when you need them? May I suggest a honeymoon to Fukushima, or is that pushing it too far? Tripoli maybe? Or somewhere south of Kabul? I'd have to be in a coma to care any less about the whole bourgeoisie-at-play event, but it's just everywhere. Now even the local news has become infected! Welcome to Absurdistan! Oh well, never mind. It's just another massive, mass media manipulated Fairytale that will hit the wall sooner or later. Been there, done that! Oh and make sure you give this Hamlet offspring - aren't all Danes? - a listen!
This set includes two singles, the latest "Colleen", released 2 months ago, and the older single "Orange Glow", both with their respective B-Sides and the first album "Offshore" - the next one is on the way. Enjoy!
Based in the shoegaze genre The Foreign Resort has fused the dark sounds of the 80's with electronic beats, energetic drumming and piercing reverb guitars.
The band was formed in 2006 and released their debut album 'Offshore' in 2009. 'Offshore' was also released in the US in February 2010 on the San Francisco based Three Ring records. The second album is under way and will be ready for release in the spring of 2011.
The Foreign Resort has toured the USA, Italy, Germany and Denmark. In 2010 the band played 42 shows. The most notable shows were at the legendary Pianos in New York, Silverlake Lounge in Los Angeles, the Danish showcase festival Spot 2010 and supporting A Place to Bury Strangers on their European tour.
The single Orange Glow was released in the spring of 2010 as a teaser from the forthcoming album. The track appeared on the summer edition of Under The Radar Magazine's sampler and can also be found among the HUGO BOSS Hugo tracks.
With parallels to My Bloody Valentine and Joy Division, The Foreign Resort balances between the massive and the delicate with a distinct international sound.
THE FOREIGN RESORT:

Rasmus Steen - bass, keyboards
Henrik Fischlein, guitar
