Cherri Bomb - Stark EP (album stream)

Hailing from the blistering valley of Los Angeles and touted as Rock's New Generation is Cherri Bomb, a badass all girl rock band who has already shared the stage with such bands as Filter, the supergroup Camp Freddy and toured with the Smashing Pumpkins and Foo Fighters.
The digtal-only STARK, the debut EP from Hollywood Records all-girl rock group, Cherri Bomb features five hard-hitting tracks, including the lead single "Let It Go," a cover of the Foo Fighters’ hit "The Pretender" and "Spin" which stirred up an impressive mosh pit at UK’s Sonisphere earlier this summer, is available now on iTunes.
One of the youngest bands to ever take the stage at some of the biggest festivals in the world, Cherri Bomb played to thousands at this summer’s Oxegen, Sonisphere, T in the Park, Reading and Leeds Festivals and made a special appearance in Cologne, Germany, at a sold-out arena show opening for the Foo Fighters. Among the group’s biggest supporters is Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, who gave the girls a shout-out at the end of the show by saying, "I’d like to thank a real rock band, Cherri Bomb, for coming out and playing with us tonight."
STARK, previously released in Europe, has been generating rave reviews on the other side of the pond. London punk rock magazine, Big Cheese, gave the EP a glowing three-star review, calling it "...catchy rock ‘n’ roll tunes with excellent harmonies and gutsy vocals" and went on to say Cherri Bomb brings to the scene "a refreshing antidote to lip-synching, manufactured pop, the feisty foursome supply both substance and style with a moody eyeliner-slicked image that’s tied to undeniable musical talent."
The group - Julia Pierce (vocals/guitar), Nia Lovelis (drums/vocals), Miranda Miller (guitar/keyboards/ vocals), and Rena Lovelis (bass/vocals) have "been working hard for several years - intense rehearsals, lots of gigging (including opening slots with the Smashing Pumpkins, Filter, Camp Freddy, and Chelsea Girls among others) - it was blood, sweat, and tears literally" says drummer Nia Lovelis.
Cherri Bomb is currently in Los Angeles recording their full-length album, due out in 2012.
The video for "Let It Go" features footage culled from their recent European festival tour. Earlier this year, Cherri Bomb shot a video for "The Pretender" with director Giles Dunning (White Stripes, Iggy Pop, Weezer, Vampire Weekend), a clip that’s steadily building a buzz with over 200,000 views.
Managed by drummer Samantha Maloney (Hole, Motley Crue, Eagles Of Death Metal, Peaches) and signed to Hollywood Records, Cherri Bomb has been taking the LA music scene by storm, already being called one of the hottest up-and-coming bands in LA. Next stop, the UK and Europe where the girls will hit some of the biggest festivals in the world (Oxegen, Sonisphere, T In the Park, Reading and Leeds) sharing the same bill with some of their favorite bands: Foo Fighters, My Chemical Romance and The Strokes.
