Randy Newman & The Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra - Live In Concert (1979)

Unlike some musicblogs I don't think the Strokes saved Rock & Roll, nor do I think that everything older than 30 years can safely be dismissed or ignored. On the contrary! In amidst all the rock and hip hop and what not else that gets posted on this blog, sometimes it is imperative to have a little resting moment. Randy Newman is one of my favourite chill-out places.

Today's Live Performance comes from Randy Newman, together with The Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Roelof van Driesten. It's a magnificent live show, 1 hour and 13 minutes, recorded and filmed in Rotterdam, Netherlands in 1979 by Dutch Broadcaster VARA.
