Mokhov - Halcyon Days (album stream)

Oleg Mokhov has been on the scene for quite a while. His electronic music portfolio has grown sizeably over the past few years, and every release (in whatever form) continues to inspire. Most of his music began as remixes of different shapes and sizes, which were released in the form of podcasts. From that point he’s moved to experiment in a multitude of areas, including composing music for an online talk show, licensing his own music, creating an indie video game soundtrack, and most importantly, releasing a debut album on Magnatune Records.
Halcyon Days collects the 9 tunes from Mokhov's 3 free EPs on the Otium, Catnap, and Dusted Wax Kingdom netlabels and adds a brand new tune, "Eternal Wings".
The 10 electronic tunes are like a cross between Aphex Twin and Four Tet. With some Boards of Canada and DJ Shadow thrown in. If you like that style of IDM/instrumental hip-hop/downtempo music, this album is for you.
Released on Magnatune Records / Mokhov Music.
From wikipedia
Mokhov, the stage name of Oleg Mokhov, is a Russian-American electronic music producer currently based in San Francisco, California. He creates his music in a mobile manner, programming and recording sounds with music software on a laptop in various locations.
His productions are influenced by electronic musicians such as Aphex Twin, Four Tet, and Boards of Canada. His productions were initially offered on three 3-track releases on netlabels, which are all free downloads: Glass Soul EP, Purity EP, and Midnight Love EP. In July 2011 he released his first full-length, Halcyon Days, which collected the nine previously-mentioned tracks and added a new track called "Eternal Wings". In October 2011 record label Made in Glitch released his first new material since his first full-length on the 4-track release Kickback EP.
Mokhov co-founded the podcast network BlueRize and on it has interviewed other electronic musicians about the topics of music production and business - "by a musician, for musicians". He has interviewed the following artists: Braiden, J Boogie, Asura, Christopher Willits, Loscil, Com Truise, Oliver Chesler aka The Horrorist, Dr. Strangeloop, Solvent, Austin Peralta, Ochre, and Tobias Tinker.
Soundtracks
Mokhov has created the soundtrack for the upcoming music video game DJs vs Ninjas by the software company Virtuous Giant. The soundtrack is noteworthy because Virtuous Giant claims the game will have "the world’s first music based combat system" which results in an interactive soundtrack where the player can control the music "as a weapon" rather than only playing along to it.
Remixes
Mokhov has the most-viewed (on Youtube) remix of the song "Endorphin" by Burial and the second most-viewed remix of James Blake.
In August 2011, Mokhov won a remix competition for the band Vanity Theft. The competition was hosted by the website Laptop Rockers. His remix will be officially released along with the other winning remixes by Vanity Theft's record label Vigilante Music.
In September 2011, Neferiu Records released graciellita - Past the Hour EP: Mokhov Remix, which contains 5 Mokhov remixes of songs from Montreal, Quebec-based singer graciellita's Past the Hour EP.
