Thijs van Leer (Amsterdam, March 31, 1948) is a Dutch flautist and keyboard player. Together with the guitarist Jan Akkerman, he is best known as member of the band Focus.
Van Leer also made solo albums as a flautist, on which he played his own compositions in addition to arrangements of classical pieces, with background vocals by Letty de Jong and arrangements by Rogier van Otterloo. These albums appeared under the title Introspection, Introspection 2 and Introspection 3.

This performance of 'Rondo' was recorded and broadcast at the Grand Gala Du Disque 1974 by AVRO Television in the Netherlands, 15 February 1974, RAI Congress Centre, Amsterdam, accompanied by the Metropole Orchestra under direction of Rogier van Otterloo

Blending sterling pop hooks with melodies and arrangements influenced by '80s alternative rock (especially the Cure) and lyrics that put an upbeat spin on heartache, HUNNY broke out of Southern California in 2015 with the independent single "Cry to Me," which became a major hit on streaming services. Led by vocalist and songwriter Jason Yarger, HUNNY became one of California's biggest indie success stories thanks to songs like "Vowels (And the Importance of Being Me)" and "Televised," and in 2018, they signed with leading punk label Epitaph to release the EP Windows II.

The members of HUNNY all hail from Newbury Park, California, a town near Malibu. Lead singer and guitarist Jason Yarger and bassist Gregory Horne had been friends since high school and played in a rock band together, while guitarists Jake Goldstein and Jake Munk had been playing music since their early teens. While they had all played in a variety of bands, it wasn't until the musicians were sharing a house together that they decided to join forces, with Yarger contributing songs originally written for a solo project. With the addition of keyboard player Kevin Grimmett and drummer Joey Anderson, the first lineup of HUNNY was complete. In 2014, they released their debut single, a track titled "Honey Blonde," but it was with their 2015 release "Cry to Me" that the group made their breakthrough, as the tune was streamed over a million times within a year, eventually racking up over three million plays.

Pain/Ache/Loving The band hit the road for a nationwide tour with fellow Californians the Neighbourhood and Bad Suns, and in October 2015, HUNNY dropped the five-song EP Pain/Ache/Loving, which included "Cry to Me" and another streaming success, "July." By the time the EP arrived, the group was a five-piece, following the departure of guitarist Jake Munk. HUNNY's success continued into 2016, as their single "Vowels (And the Importance of Being Me)" became another hit, receiving more than 4.5 million plays on major streaming services. In 2017, they released another EP, Windows I, which included two more streaming hits, "Televised" and "Shy."

As their following grew, HUNNY revealed that they had signed with the well-established punk label Epitaph Records in mid-2018; the label promptly released Windows II. The EP appeared after bassist Gregory Horne left HUNNY, with Kevin Grimmett now serving double duty on bass and keys.

Memory looms large on Horse Jumper of Love’s hypnotic sophomore album, ‘So Divine,’ but it remains elusive. Throughout the record, tiny snapshots from the past float to the surface, baring themselves for brief moments before diving back into the ether. Like abstract collages, the Boston-based three-piece’s songs jumble richly detailed scenes and vivid imagery, papering over one moment with the next until each string of seemingly unrelated thoughts coalesces into a breathtaking work of art, one that reveals deep truths about ourselves and our psyches.

“A lot of these songs are about making small things into huge deals,” says guitarist/singer Dimitri Giannopoulos. “They all start with these very specific little memories that, for some reason or another, have stuck in my mind. Memories morph and change over time, though, and they become freighted with all these different meanings. We’re constantly adding to them.”

The same could be said of Horse Jumper of Love’s music. Praised by Stereogum as a “delightfully distorted mess of energy,” the band’s sound is absorbing and urgently hypnotic, with songs that develop at a glacial pace, progressing forward with almost imperceptible momentum to carve deep canyons and valleys through walls of solid rock. Giannopoulos officially launched the group with bassist John Margaris and drummer Jamie Vadala-Doran in 2013, taking their moniker from a Latin phrase that had gotten more than a little lost in translation. The band would spend the next three years refining their studio craft and live show, garnering a devoted following playing DIY gigs around New England as they climbed their way into what Pitchfork described as “the top tier of the Boston house show scene.” In 2016, they released their self-titled debut to rave reviews, with NPR praising the band’s “slow, syrupy rock songs” as “cautiously measured and patiently curious” and Audiotree hailing the “soft spoken, contemplative trio” for their “unique sonic palette and precise compositions.” In 2017, the group released a vinyl and digital re-issue of the album along with a limited edition demo anthology.

‘So Divine’ will mark the band’s first release for Run For Cover Records.

April 16, 2019 | Stephen Thompson -- Gary Clark Jr. had good reason to sweat. The blues-rock singer and guitarist opted to play his first-ever Tiny Desk concert — in front of a huge crowd that warmed the room considerably — while clad in a thick knit cap and heavy jacket. Plus, he'd brought his young son on tour with him and had to contend with a traditional parenting dilemma: How do you bring your kid to the office and still get work done?

But once Clark and his formidable band got done cranking out three songs from this year's blistering This Land, he wasn't the only one in the room who needed to wipe away the sweat. Clark's set leaned toward some of This Land's softer sentiments — "When I'm Gone" is about missing his family on the road, while "Pearl Cadillac" exudes gratitude for his mother's sacrifices — leaving its more politically incendiary material for louder live shows. But these songs still roared with the assurance and force of a showman at the top of his game.

Johann Sebastian Bach wrote his fifth Brandenburg Concerto, BWV 1050, for harpsichord, flute and violin as soloists, and an orchestral accompaniment consisting of strings and continuo. An early version of the concerto, BWV 1050a, originated in the late 1710s. On 24 March 1721 Bach dedicated the final form of the concerto to Margrave Christian Ludwig of Brandenburg.

In his Weimar period (1708–1717) Bach was involved in the concerto genre, mainly through copying and transcribing. The earliest extant sources of Bach's own concerto compositions date from his Köthen period (1717–1723), where the 1721 autograph of the six Brandenburg Concertos takes a central place. Nonetheless around half a dozen of Bach's extant concertos, including some of the Brandenburg Concertos and lost models of his later harpsichord concertos, seem to have had their roots in his Weimar period. Most of what Bach may have left with his employer in Weimar perished in a fire destroying Schloss Weimar in the 1770s.

Guitarist Greg Burgess comments: "As long-time fans know, I love putting classical guitar tracks on Allegaeon records. The reason is twofold: first I want to give the listeners a chance to catch their breath. Ear fatigue when listening to extreme music is an unfortunate side effect. Secondly is to promote the instrument itself, and my love of classical music.

"The "Colors of the Currents" is my first foray into duet composition. Its conception was the result of being recognized by the classical community for my work in Allegaeon. This was both shocking and humbling for me. Having works played alongside the likes of Bach at doctoral recitals seemed like goals from a life I thought I left behind when I decided to devote my life to Allegaeon.

"For the "Colors of the Currents," I had the honor of performing with the venerable Christina Sandsengen from Oslo, Norway. Her album "Shades and Contrasts" caught my attention while on the US leg of our tour with Ne Obliviscaris. Her interpretations, use of dynamics and colors, are all laudable, and what I strive to achieve in my own playing. They are heartfelt, moving, and quite frankly an amazing example of the emotional range of the instrument.

"The piece itself was composed knowing that it would be paired with "Tsunami and Submergence." I wanted to capture the feeling of water moving around the listener. As currents in real life ebb and flow so does the intensity of the piece. The idea to separate the tracks "Tsunami and Submergence" from the "Colors of the Currents" was made right before we went into the studio, for ease of the listener to navigate where they wish on the album."

Cass McCombs (born 1977 in Concord, California) is an American musician, best known for releasing 9 albums since 2002.

Tip of the Sphere follows 2016’s Mangy Love. For that record, McCombs made his television debut on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and was featured in The New York Times’ Sunday Arts & Leisure section. It was named a “Best Rock Album of the Year” by Pitchfork, featured in the Washington Post’s “Best Music of 2016,” plus many other best of 2016 lists, and was his overall most critically praised album.

While most of McCombs albums have been pieced together in different studios over an extended period of time, Tip of the Sphere was recorded quickly and with a strong sense of purpose at Shahzad Ismaily’s Figure 8 Studios in Brooklyn. This new approach for McCombs brought his songs a raw immediacy and a special balance of compassion and experimentation with the intent of making a more consistent statement. The rock songs have more fervor, the ballads are more beautiful, the explorations more confident; the sounds of jazz and Latin music creep in through the back window. Engineered by Sam Owens (aka Sam Evian), Tip of the Sphere features the core band of McCombs (guitar, vocals), Dan Horne (bass), Otto Hauser (drums) and Frank LoCrasto (piano, organ, and more), plus a range of guests.

Tip of the Sphere recounts what has unfolded in the wake of Mangy Love’s pre-inaugural prophetic themes. It presents an artist trying to make sense of it all through a relentless, ever searching creative process. Throughout Tip of the Sphere, McCombs floats through a suite of songs driven by a journeying mysticism and dark grace. The thematic centerpiece of the album, “Sleeping Volcanoes,” is a rousing, rock and roll number that uses a distinct lyrical approach to intensify the narrative. On the main refrain, a key phrase of the song is repeated continuously and taken through its possible meanings, almost like a jazz musician repeating a musical phrase through key and chord changes. As described by McCombs, “Sleeping Volcanoes” is about “people passing each other on the sidewalk unaware of the emotional volatility they are brushing past, like a sleeping volcano that could erupt at any moment.”

The ‘Castillo de la Esfera’ is featured inside the vinyl edition of Tip of the Sphere. ‘The ‘Castillo de la Esfera‘ was created by fellow Northern California artist and contemporary Tahiti Pehrson as an homage to Brion Gysin’s dream machine. When the ‘Castillo de la Esfera’ is placed on top of the record player, and as the record is played (with or without a lightbulb cantilevered in the center), thoughts are encouraged to wander.

Three Days Grace is a Canadian rock band formed in Norwood, Ontario in 1997. Based in Toronto, the band's original line-up consisted of guitarist and lead vocalist Adam Gontier, drummer and backing vocalist Neil Sanderson, and bassist Brad Walst. In 2003, Barry Stock was recruited as the band's lead guitarist, making them a four-member band. In 2013, Gontier left the band and was replaced by My Darkest Days' vocalist Matt Walst, who is also the younger brother of bassist Brad Walst.

Currently signed to RCA Records, they have released six studio albums, each at three-year intervals: Three Days Grace in 2003, One-X in 2006, Life Starts Now in 2009, Transit of Venus in 2012, Human in 2015, and Outsider in 2018. Outsider is the sixth studio album by Canadian rock band Three Days Grace. It was released on March 9, 2018 through RCA Records. The album was produced by two of the band's prior producers, Gavin Brown and Howard Benson but also by members of the band themselves. It is the second album to feature Matt Walst as lead vocalist.

Micheal Ray Stevenson (born November 19, 1989), known by his stage name Tyga (a backronym for Thank you God always), is an American rapper. In 2011, Tyga signed a recording contract with Young Money Entertainment, Cash Money Records and Republic Records. His major label debut Careless World: Rise of the Last King, included the singles "Rack City", "Faded" featuring fellow Young Money artist Lil Wayne, "Far Away" featuring Chris Richardson, "Still Got It" featuring Drake, and "Make It Nasty". He released his third album Hotel California, on April 9, 2013, and includes the singles "Dope" featuring Rick Ross, "For The Road" featuring Chris Brown, and "Show You" featuring Future. His 2018 single, "Taste", peaked at number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100, being his first Top 40 single in over 3 years.

In July 2007, Mayday Parade released their debut album A Lesson in Romantics. After signing to Fearless in 2006, the band also signed onto a major label with Atlantic in 2009. Secret Band (often stylized as SECRETBAND) is an American post-hardcore band from Sacramento, California, founded by American musician Will Swan in 2011. The band currently consists of Dance Gavin Dance guitarist Will Swan, drummer Matthew Mingus, and unclean vocalist Jon Mess, as well as former Dance Gavin Dance bass guitarist Jordan McCoy and former The Antioch Synopsis guitarist Martin Bianchini.

The band has been considered a side project by its members. The group was formerly signed to Swan's independent record label Blue Swan Records until signing to Rise Records in 2019. Their eponymously-titled debut extended play was released in 2011, with their debut studio album, also eponymously-titled, becoming released in 2014; each were properly released on June 3, 2014 and July 31, 2014, respectively. Their second studio album was released on April 19, 2019.

Description : Get Scared is an American post-hardcore band from Layton, Utah. Formed in 2008, they released their first EP, Cheap Tricks and Theatrics, in 2009. Another EP, Get Scared, was released in 2010. The band's debut studio album, Best Kind of Mess, was released on July 12, 2011. Nicholas Matthews left the band to join Blacklisted Me, and the band released Cheap Tricks and Theatrics B-Sides on December 19, 2011, without any previous announcements. Matthews was replaced by Joel Faviere in 2011. The band's third EP, Built for Blame, Laced With Shame, was released in 2012 with Faviere. Faviere was kicked out a few months after the EP's release when Matthews rejoined the band. Following Matthews' comeback, the band signed with Fearless Records and released their second full-length album, Everyone's Out To Get Me, on November 11, 2013. The band's third studio album, Demons, was released on October 30, 2015, and marked a departure from the band's post-hardcore sound featured on Built for Blame and Everyone's Out to Get Me in favor of a more metalcore-like sound.

The band entered the studio in November 2017 with producer Kris Crummett to record their fourth studio album. The album had a tentative release date of 2018, but it did not come to pass. On January 9, 2019, guitarist Johnny Braddock announced the band was on a hiatus as vocalist Nicholas Matthews recovers from a heroin addiction.[2] Several days later, Matthews announced he had left the band.

On April 10, 2019, Johnny Braddock announced The Dead Days would be released on April 19, 2019.

Brantley Keith Gilbert (born January 20, 1985) is an American country music singer, songwriter and record producer from Jefferson, Georgia. He was originally signed to Colt Ford's label, Average Joes Entertainment, where he released Modern Day Prodigal Son and Halfway to Heaven. He is now signed to the Valory division of Big Machine Records where he has released three studio albums—a deluxe edition of Halfway to Heaven, Just as I Am, The Devil Don't Sleep, and 11 country chart entries, four of which have gone to number one. He also wrote Jason Aldean's singles "My Kinda Party" and "Dirt Road Anthem".
