Chicago native Lil Zay Osama delivers hard-hitting raps about his harsh, violent upbringing, tempered with Auto-Tune-heavy singing as heard on tracks like the 2019 single "Changed Up."

Born in the South Side of Chicago in 2000, Zay's early years were turbulent and filled with legal troubles. After serving a three-year jail sentence, Zay decided to take music-making more seriously, having already started to rap before serving his term. Singles such as "Way Better" and "We Ride" appeared in 2018, and by the end of the year, Meek Mill had namechecked Zay as an artist to watch. "Changed Up" was released late in the year, and it became his breakthrough hit, racking up over 16 million views in the following months. Zay was signed by Warner Bros., which picked up "Changed Up" in March of 2019 and issued follow-up "Trencherous" a month later.

Cold Chisel are the classic Australian pub rock band, playing a tough breed of rock and blues inspired by '70s bands like Free, Deep Purple, and Led Zeppelin, but characterized by the storytelling skills of their main songwriter, Don Walker, whose personal influences came from Bob Dylan. Between 1978 and 1983, Cold Chisel ruled as Australia's most popular band on record and on-stage. They sold over six million records in Australia alone, most of that number after their 1983 breakup and 1998 reunion.

Coming on the scene with stern club bangers and cold punch lines, Memphis-based rapper Young Dolph became a local hero via a series of mixtapes before breaking nationwide around 2014. Born Adolph Thornton, Jr. in Chicago, Dolph debuted in 2008 with the mixtape Paper Route Campaign. Subsequent releases like The Weed Album and South Memphis Kingpin brought him to 2012, when he dropped the first in a successful series of mixtapes dubbed High Class Street Music. By the time High Class Street Music 4 and the "Preach" single dropped in 2014, Dolph was working with major-label producers including Drumma Boy and Zaytoven. Both provided tracks for his 2016 debut LP, King of Memphis, which featured no guest artists and debuted at number 49 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. A trio of mixtapes followed, ending with Rich Crack Baby. The album entered the Billboard 200 upon release and included guest appearances by Boosie Badazz, 2 Chainz, Wale, T.I., Gucci Mane, and 21 Savage. Another mixtape, Gelato, followed in early 2017, containing the Yo Gotti diss track "Play wit Yo' Bitch," as well as tracks featuring Migos, Wiz Khalifa, and Lil Yachty. Dolph's second studio album, Bulletproof, was released in April of 2017 and reached the Top 40 of the Billboard 200. Mere months later, he issued Thinking Out Loud, which featured guest spots by DRAM, Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz, and Ty Dolla $ign. The album was another success, hitting number 16 on the Billboard 200. In early 2018, Dolph issued the EP Niggas Get Shot Everyday, following up later that year with the Key Glock collaboration "Major" and the solo track "By Mistake." The full-length Role Model followed later in the year; the album became Dolph's highest-charting release to date, charting at number 15 on the Billboard 200. The following year saw Dolph link up with frequent collaborator Key Glock for 2019's Dum and Dummer, the pair's first collaborative mixtape.

Although often lumped into the post-grunge category, Third Eye Blind sported a brighter sound than many of their late-'90s peers, taking as much influence from classic pop/rock traditions as the angst-ridden music that dominated the decade. The group scored its first hit in 1997, when their debut single "Semi-Charmed Life" cracked the Top 10. Third Eye Blind built upon that success over the next three years, releasing a number of singles (three of which cracked the Top 10) while touring with the likes of U2 and Oasis. After taking a break during the early 2000s, the band returned in 2009 with its fourth studio album, Ursa Major.

Third Eye Blind returned in October 2019 with Screamer, a stylized, modernized collection of original material that was recorded in part with Billy Corgan, who functioned as the album's "musical consigliere."

From the 1993 album Bitch Epic

Formed in 1982, Do Re Mi exploded onto the Australian music scene in 1985 with their single "Man Overboard." In 1988, after two albums and several hit singles, the group disbanded. Following the demise of Do Re Mi, lead singer Deborah Conway embarked on a successful solo career.

Releasing her debut solo album in 1991, Conway immediately gained herself some attention as a solo singer. String of Pearls was an album that ranged from acoustic pop to rock and generated three hit singles: "It's Only the Beginning," "Release Me" and "Under My Skin."

Returning in 1993, Conway released Bitch Epic. This was a more rock album than its predecessor and produced two singles ("Alive and Brilliant" and "Today I'm a Daisy") but was not as popular as String of Pearls.

Chicago-based alternative metal ensemble SOiL formed in 1997 around the talents of vocalist Ryan McCombs, drummer Tom Schofield, bass player Tim King, and guitarists Adam Zadel and Shaun Glass. They released their debut EP, El Chupacabra!, in 1998, followed by the full-length Throttle Junkies in 1999. Their sophomore release (Scars) found success both nationally and internationally through two strong singles, "Unreal" and "Halo." It was followed in 2001 by an eponymous EP, and later in 2004 with McCombs left the fold that year, eventually joining Drowning Pool. He was replaced by A.J. Cavalier on their 2006 debut for DRT, True Self. On October 20, 2009, the band released Picture Perfect, heralded by the single "Like It Is." SOiL's next full-length release was the 2012 concert album, Re-Live-ing the Scars: In London, recorded the previous year in London. Sixth studio album Whole appeared in 2013.

Part of the explosion of Dutch electronic music producers who emerged during the early 2010s, Martin Garrix spins a bright blend of progressive house, electro, and future bass. He broke through in 2013 with his international, multi-platinum hit "Animals" from his debut effort, Gold Skies. Topping DJ rank lists in the late 2010s, he climbed the charts with high-profile crossover collaborations with Bebe Rexha ("In the Name of Love"), Dua Lipa ("Scared to Be Lonely"), David Guetta ("So Far Away"), and Khalid ("Ocean").

2019 brought the funky "Summer Days" single, which featured Macklemore and Fall Out Boy's Patrick Stump. The bright JRM collaboration "These Are the Time" appeared a few months later.

Originally hailing from the coastal town of Noosa, Australia, Star Kendrick and Toma Banjanin met in their teens and moved to Europe, spending their time between London, Berlin, and Gothenburg. The duo starting writing together when Kendrick had laid down a few demo vocal tracks and asked Banjanin to flesh them out. The resulting guitar- and synth-laden dream pop caught the ear of London-based independent 37 Adventures, which snapped up their debut 2016 single "Saltwater." At the end of the year, the duo released a second track, "Don't Talk About You." 2017 saw their fan base expand; the pair issued "Won't Look Back" and "Get You" before collecting them for their debut EP Relapse. They followed up with the single "Drink Too Much," while also spending their time touring and recording their debut album.

Armin van Buuren's new album 'BALANCE' is OUT NOW:

Armin van Buuren finally unleashes his new artist album ‘BALANCE’. As stated by Armin van Buuren, the album is about thinking in possibilities rather than definition, thinking about what music could be instead of what it should be. “Every song I make teaches me something new, and the next song is always a result of all my previous records, the new things I learned and the people I met”, the world-renowned DJ and producer says in the foreword of his album. “Over the years, this process - and especially the fun of creating - became more and more important to me. It’s a journey that gives me meaning and helps me learn more about my personal interests rather than focus on the recognition I get for the outcome. That’s the big difference between who I am today and who I was a few years ago. 'BALANCE' is a new chapter in my book of life, the result of venturing into known and unknown territories while finding the balance in between. This creative journey gives me the energy to do what I do, to keep going. I don’t want to think about what music should be. I want to think about what music could be."

The 69 Eyes are a dramatic goth metal band from Finland, with a dash of punk in their attitude and a sound that mixes polish with power. Drawing influence from bands like Motörhead, the Stooges, the Dead Boys, and the Doors, as well as movies like The Crow, The Lost Boys, and The Matrix, the band dabbled in glam metal-influenced, guitar-fueled decadence on early recordings like 1995's Savage Garden. Just a few years later, though, as evidenced by 2000's Blessed Be, the songs and the production showed much stronger goth leanings, and by 2009's Back in Blood, the goth stylings were strengthened by a hard-hitting industrial undercurrent that packed a much stronger punch.

2019 saw the act play the United States for the first time in ten years in advance of their 12th studio album, West End, which was scheduled for release on Friday, September 13.

Hollywood Undead hail from the streets of Hollywood, California, mixing brash hip-hop, rock, and minor metalcore touches with cocky posturing. With their colorful pseudonyms and unique hockey goaltender-inspired masks, the band debuted in 2008 with Swan Songs, but didn't hit their commercial stride until the release of their 2011 sophomore effort, American Tragedy, which cracked the Top Ten on the Billboard 200 chart. Subsequent outings like Notes from the Underground (2013) and Day of the Dead (2015) performed just as well, if not better, cementing the group's reputation as one of rapcore's leading lights.

Ocean Sleeper have wasted no time in their relatively short spanning career. Since their humble founding in regional Victoria, they’ve managed to sell out their own headlining shows, tour alongside some of heavy music’s finest, record an album with renowned producer Kris Crumpet (Sleeping With Sirens, Dance Gavin Dance, Issues) and have managed to score festival bills on Unify 2017 + 2019.

Since their inception in 2016 Ocean Sleeper have hastily made their mark on the Australian Heavy Music landscape. Within the first 6 months they had already been selected to play prestigious alternate music festival Unify, thanks to an overwhelming amount of online support. A daunting task for any band, let alone one with only 1 song out.

It wasn’t until the day of Unify 2017 that they dropped their debut EP, hitting a spectacular #11 in the overall Itunes charts and maintained the #1 Metal chart position for 3 weeks afterwards.
From there the band continued to plant SOLD OUT stickers across their shows, selling out their first headliner at Melbourne’s The Workers Club in four weeks and then months later the Northcote Social Club for their Single Launch. It wasn’t long before Ocean Sleeper became hot property on the support artist market, swiftly landing supports for Stray From The Path, Counterparts, Deez Nuts and a national Dream On Dreamer tour to name a few.

Despite spending 2017/2018 playing on the country’s best heavy music stages, the band continued honing their song writing and preparing material for a debut record. Flying to the USA and hunkering down in Portland Oregon with Kris Crummett, the band started pulling together their debut record for release in 2019. With so much under their belt already, Ocean Sleeper are keenly finalizing their debut LP and with sold out shows with Killswitch Engage scheduled for the end of 2018 and Unify in 2019, Ocean Sleeper may be well established, but these sons of Gippsland are going to be giving a whole lot more in 2019.

Coming up somewhere between Wiz Khalifa's loose flow and hedonistic lyrics and Lil B's free spirit and love of alternative-flavored beats, Atlanta's Trinidad James went from viral to Def Jam signee, and all in his rookie season. Born Nicholas Williams in Trinidad & Tobago but raised in Atlanta, he was a 24-year-old manager of a downtown streetwear boutique when he decided to try his hand at rapping and become Trinidad James. That was late 2011, and in October of 2012, Trinidad dropped his debut mixtape, Don't Be S.A.F.E., which featured the viral hit "All Gold Everything." In December of that year, as the "All Gold Everything" video passed the three-million-views mark, Def Jam announced their signing of the rapper and released the "All Gold Everything" remix with verses from T.I., Young Jeezy, and 2 Chainz added to the track. The label gave the Don't Be S.A.F.E. mixtape an official release in early 2013. A second mixtape was released later that year. 10 PC Mild featured spots by Travi$ Scott, D4L, Danny Brown, Rich Homie Quan, Gucci Mane, and Childish Gambino.

James continued to drop mixtapes with the Gold Gang label, occupying 2015 with a trio of releases: The Wake Up, No One Is Safe, and Trips to Trinidad. He also appeared on a remix of Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk" and Cash Cash's "The Gun" with Dev and Chrish. In 2016, James returned focus to his own output, dropping the single "Just a Lil' Thick (She Juicy)" with Mystikal and Lil Dicky.

German rave machine Scooter are one of the most successful dance acts of all time, having sold millions of records, scored dozens of hit singles and full-lengths, and completed numerous international tours since forming in the early '90s. The group is the embodiment of dance music at its most over the top and excessive, taking the KLF's concept of stadium house to its extreme. Led by austere frontman H.P. Baxxter, the majority of the group's songs feature gigantic singalong choruses (often referencing a wide spectrum of both pop and underground hits), crowd noise, and the loudest, most booming beats imaginable. Starting by producing happy hardcore and hard trance, the highly prolific group's sound has rapidly evolved with the times, incorporating dance music trends such as jumpstyle, dubstep, and electro-house. Their carnivalesque live shows involve lasers, pyrotechnics, dancers, and copious amounts of audience participation. Scooter have remained massively successful without signing to a major label, having released music on Edel imprint Club Tools during the '90s before starting their own Sheffield Tunes in 2000.

The group celebrated two decades of hitmaking with 20 Years of Hardcore in late 2013. Jordan then announced that he would be leaving Scooter after the group's 2014 tour. His replacement, Phil Speiser, made his debut with Scooter on the group's 17th studio album, The Fifth Chapter. Ace appeared in 2016, followed by Scooter Forever in 2017.

An emo-charged noise punk outfit from Baltimore, Maryland, Teen Suicide was built around the core duo of vocalist/guitarist Sam Ray and drummer Eric Livingston. Formed in 2009, the duo issued a compilation of early demos titled Bad Vibes in 2011, followed by a trio of EPs (DC Snuff Film, Goblin Problems, and Hymns) and their debut full-length (I Will Be My Own Hell Because There Is a Devil Inside My Body) via Run for Cover Records in 2012. Bass player Alec Simke joined the band shortly after the album's release and appeared on the group's third EP, Waste Yrself. Teen Suicide disbanded the following year, but the ensuing years saw the members sporadically re-forming for one-off shows and the occasional single. In 2015 they released remastered and expanded versions of their debut LP and the DC Snuff Film and Waste Yrself EPs, the latter of which were issued as a single album. A new single appeared late that year titled "Sonic Youth," though it was nebulously uncredited to Teen Suicide. A few months later it was revealed that they had a new full-length album ready for release. Sporting another lengthy title, the band's sophomore LP, It's the Big Joyous Celebration, Let's Stir the Honeypot, arrived in April 2016.
