Combining his interests in electronic dance music, hip-hop, and indie rock, Yoshi Flower is the project of Josh Smith, a Los Angeles-based musician formerly of Detroit duo Gosh Pith. He made his debut as Yoshi Flower in early March of 2018 with "Movies," an electro-pop love song that imagines his love interest as the star of his film. The same week, Los Angeles' Elohim released the song "Panic Attacks" featuring Yoshi Flower; the latter kicked off a string of dates in support of Elohim's North American tour. Before the end of the month, Smith released his follow-up solo single, "Just on Drugs." Another single, "Woke," and the maxi-single "Brown Paper Bag" both led up to the October release of his debut mixtape, American Raver. Striking a deal with Interscope, Smith made his label debut in early 2019 with "In the Morning" and "Dirty Water," followed in May of that year by "Validation."

"Too Shy" is a song written and recorded by English band Kajagoogoo, released in 1983. The first single from their debut album White Feathers, the song was an immediate hit and reached number one on the UK Singles Chart for two weeks. It was also very successful in other European countries and Japan, spending five weeks at number one in Germany, also reaching number one in Belgium and Ireland, as well as reaching number two in France and Switzerland, and number four in Sweden, Austria and the Netherlands.

Assisted by heavy rotation on MTV, the song later became a success in the United States, peaking at number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100. "Too Shy" is Kajagoogoo's only significant hit in the US, where the band is widely regarded as a one-hit wonder. Taking their name from director Neil Blomkamp's 2009 sci-fi horror film District 9, New Zealand power trio Alien Weaponry deliver a whiplash-inducing amalgam of kinetic thrash and tribal, hook-driven groove metal that leans hard on the members' Maori heritage. Founded in 2010 by teenage brothers Lewis (guitar, vocals) and Henry de Jong (drums), the group sports a similar trajectory to Brazilian thrash/groove legends Sepultura, another siblings-headed unit that blurred the lines between sonic might and cultural heritage. Descendants of the Ngati Piki?o and Ngati Raukawa tribes, the band often utilizes the traditional M?ori haka war dance in its music.

The group originated in Auckland -- the de Long brothers were just eight and ten years old at the time -- and became a trio in 2013 after moving to the small town of Waipu and adding bassist Ethan Trembath. They released their debut EP, The Zego Sessions, independently in 2014, followed by a New Zealand tour with alt-metal heavyweights Devilskin. More regional success followed in 2016, with the band winning both the national finals of the intermediate and high-school music competitions Smokefreerockquest and Smokefree Pacifica Beats. In 2017, they released a pair of singles ahead of the arrival of their full-length debut. The resulting Tu was released via Napalm Records in 2018, and debuted at number five on the New Zealand albums chart.

A successful DJ who has gone on to become an in-demand producer, CID (aka Carlos Cid) was born in Queens, New York. He developed a passion for house and dance music at an early age; when he was 11, he was regularly hopping the bus to record stores where he could listen to the latest dance singles and chat with DJs who were stocking up on new material. CID was just 12 years old when he started DJ'ing himself, and as he matured, he developed an estimable reputation, spinning at major events in the New York area. In time, CID was performing across the country and in Europe as he began making inroads into producing and remixing. In 2012, CID earned a Grammy Award for his work on Cedric Gervais' remix of Lana Del Rey's "Summertime Sadness," and the success of the track boosted his profile. Soon CID was collaborating with artists such as Kaskade, Sharam, and Tiƫsto, both in the studio and on-stage. CID next began recording and releasing material under his own name. With such successes as "Us" (with Kaskade), "Sweet Memories" (another collaboration with Kaskade), "Together," and "Secrets" (with Conrad Sewell), 2016 proved to be a breakout year for him.

A skateboarder first and a rapper second, the Atlanta-based Lil Gnar nonetheless took quickly to his second outlet, and within a year of making his informal debut scored a major-label recording contract that led to the release of the mixtape Gnar Lif3 (2018).

Born Caleb Sheppard, Lil Gnar rapped for fun as a teenager, then involved on a deeper level with skateboarding and, eventually, his Gnarcotic apparel line. Among his fellow Atlantan skaters was Germ, whose rap aspirations provoked him to take the form more seriously himself. Gnar gained serious traction in 2017 after an early track, "Ride Wit Da Fye" -- featuring Germ and production by SS.Kev -- approached half a million streams within a couple weeks of being uploaded. Gnar swiftly attracted major-label interest and signed in 2018 with Capitol. That June, Capitol commercially released Gnar's "Drop Top Benz," a collaboration with Lil Skies, as the rapper's proper debut. The track highlighted the mixtape Gnar Lif3, which arrived three months later with appearances from IDK and Skies as well as Travis Barker and Zillakami, the last two of whom helped to add an aggressive rock edge to the predominantly low-key (if intense) material.

RobnHood Tra delivers uncompromising yet energetic verses about the realities of street life. The Georgia native first made a national impact with his 2019 single "Thirty8."

Tra grew up in an underprivileged area south of Atlanta. He was forced to take care of his siblings due to an absent father and an alcoholic mother, and was involved with illegal activities at a young age. He served an eight-month jail term, during which his father passed away. During their final conversation, Tra's father told him to become a rapper so that he wouldn't return to the streets. Choosing the name Robnhood Tra, signifying his aim to give back to the community, he made his debut with Exit 66, a 2018 mixtape filled with stark reflections about his experiences. In 2019, Tra signed to Warner Bros. and released his single "Thirty8," which received positive notice from several websites.

Last Rights is the seventh studio album by Canadian electro-industrial band Skinny Puppy. It was released in March 1992 as the group's final record distributed through Nettwerk. Last Rights saw the band experimenting with two opposite extremes: cacophonous heavy music and gloomy melodies, resulting in moments of industrial weight as well as moments of uncharacteristic softness. Along with containing some of the band's most impenetrable walls of sound and an eleven-minute track composed almost entirely of manipulated and distorted samples, Last Rights also features Skinny Puppy's first ballad.

The album's production was troubled both internally and externally, involving tension within the band and threatened litigation from without. After its release, it was followed by Skinny Puppy's last tour for twelve years. Despite Last Rights' difficulties, it was well-received and named by Alternative Press as one of the best albums of the 1990s. It spawned two singles, "Inquisition" and "Left Handshake" distributed under the title "Track 10", and was the band's first release to chart on the Billboard 200.

Skinny Puppy is a Canadian industrial music group formed in Vancouver, British Columbia in 1982. The group is widely considered to be one of the founders of the electro-industrial genre. Initially envisioned as an experimental side project by cEvin Key (Kevin Crompton) while he was in the new wave band Images in Vogue, Skinny Puppy evolved into a full-time project with the addition of vocalist Nivek Ogre (Kevin Ogilvie). Over the course of a dozen studio albums and many live tours, Key and Ogre have been the only constant members. Other members have included Dwayne Goettel (1986–1995), Dave "Rave" Ogilvie (long-time associate, producer, and "unofficial" fourth member until 1995), Mark Walk (2003–present), and a number of guests, including Bill Leeb (1985–1986, under the pseudonym Wilhelm Schroeder), Al Jourgensen (1989), and many others.

Lock Up the Wolves is the fifth studio album by the American heavy metal band Dio, released on May 15, 1990. It displayed a complete change of musician line-up over the previous Dream Evil album, including eighteen-year-old guitarist Rowan Robertson, and Simon Wright on drums who had played with AC/DC from 1983-89. The song "Evil on Queen Street" takes its title from a deli in Toronto which had a sandwich with that name – per Dio on Much Music in 1990.

Guitarist Rowan Robertson states that two more songs were written and demoed for the album but left off at the decision of Wendy Dio: "‘Hell wouldn’t take her’ and ‘The River Between Us".
