Alexander 23 emerged in 2019 with a vibe that was part heartbroken slacker and part playfully sparse, software-constructed pop on the single "Dirty AF1s."

Without revealing his identity at first (his social media featured the banner "Who is this"), Alexander 23 issued his debut single on Interscope in March 2019. He followed the release of "Dirty AF1s" with a tour of the U.S. in support of Alec Benjamin and an appearance at that August's Lollapalooza festival.

Los Angeles-based electronic trio Cheat Codes debuted in 2015 with their single "Visions," a floor-filling, radio-ready bite of house in a vein similar to Avicii and Swedish House Mafia. Each of the group's three members -- Matthew Russell, Trevor Dahl, and Kevin Ford -- has deep roots in L.A., working on individual projects before joining forces for Cheat Codes (Dahl once performed as singer/songwriter Pluginstereo). Their different backgrounds helped inform Cheat Codes' stylistically varied sound, which can range from warm pop to outright big house bangers. After the release of "Visions," they quickly followed with the tropical-tinged "Don't Say No" (featuring Dresses), "Senses" (featuring Lostboycrow), and "Adventure" (featuring Evan Gartner). As they gained exposure on social media and spins on streaming services, they joined the Chainsmokers on tour. Successive singles continued to drop in 2016, when they unveiled a pair of global hits: the Top Ten, multi-platinum "Sex" (featuring Kris Kross Amsterdam) and "Let Me Hold You (Turn Me On)" (with Dante Klein). The following year they released their biggest feature yet, "No Promises" with Demi Lovato on vocals, and embarked on the No Promises world tour (taking them to the U.S., Europe, and Australia). The single was certified platinum in Australia, the U.S., and around Europe, peaking in the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100. They followed their Lovato hit with "Feels Great," which featured Fetty Wap and CVBZ, and "Put Me Back Together" with Kiiara. In 2018, singles like "NSFW" (with Danny Quest) and "Balenciaga" maintained their exposure, while the trio provided remixes for high-profile singles by Thirty Seconds to Mars ("Dangerous Night"), U2 ("Love Is Bigger Than Anything in Its Way"), and Sean Paul ("Mad Love"). After issuing their first official EP, Level 1, that summer, they released additional singles "Home" and "Feeling of Falling" with Kim Petras.

The founder and guiding force behind Awful Records, Father is also one of the autonomous label's recording artists, a producer and rapper whose tracks are offhandedly debauched and self-effacing. Born Centel Mangum, Father grew up in Mississippi and at the age of ten moved with his family to Atlanta, Georgia. After high school, he entered college to study pharmacology but switched to art school, where he met some fellow creative personalities and launched Awful Media Group. Awful developed into a recording label, an outlet for Father established with short-form releases such as 2013's Pretty Boy Satan and the 2014 sets Teen Gohan, L1L D1DDY, and Young Hot Ebony. The latter includes "Look at Wrist," a collaboration with ILoveMakonnen that became a breakout track for Father and re-appeared later that year on Makonnen's debut for OVO Sound. Despite major-label interest, Father kept himself and the rest of the Awful crew independent, and continued issuing solo material that featured emergent labelmates such as Abra, Archibald Slim, Ethereal, KeithCharles Spacebar, and Slug Christ. Who's Gonna Get Fucked First? arrived in 2015 and was followed by I'm a Piece of Shit in 2016. Father continued to cultivate the Awful roster and work with developing artists, including Meltycannon, who produced his 2017 single "Hands."

Description : David Crosby & The Lighthouse Band: NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert

Aug. 7, 2019 | Colin Marshall -- Moments before the first note at the Tiny Desk, David Crosby needed the mics rearranged: He asked that his microphone be positioned evenly with the rest of his bandmates, rather than in front of them, explaining that while his name is the one on the marquee, The Lighthouse Band has no hierarchy.

That band is an inter-generational ensemble, featuring Snarky Puppy bandleader and bassist Michael League, as well as guitarist Becca Stevens and keyboardist Michelle Willis, both accomplished singers and songwriters in their own right. They all first came together while the members were collaboratively writing and recording for Crosby's 2016 album Lighthouse. Everybody sings in this band, trading lead vocals for harmonies and vice-versa in just about every combination.

If you follow him on Twitter, you know that Crosby hasn't abandoned the political poetics that once helped buttress the movement in the '60s and '70s, referencing the shifting cultural sands with lines like, "It's time to turn the tide / Boys, sit back and let the other half drive." Connecting the present to the past, the quartet also brought along a rearrangement of Joni Mitchell's "Woodstock" from a version Crosby recorded almost 50 years ago with Stephen Stills, Graham Nash and Neil Young on Déjà Vu. (It's also the final track on The Lighthouse Band's 2018 album, Here If You Listen.)

Description : Husky Loops - I Think You’re Wonderful (Official Video)

Hailing from London by way of Italy, Husky Loops are an unconventional rock trio who fuse riffy post-punk with elements of hip-hop and indie pop. A pair of independently released 2017 EPs helped them earn a contract with Danger Mouse's 30th Century Records, where they broke through with the catchy 2018 single "Everytime I Run."

Pier Danio Forni (vocals, guitar), Pietro Garrone (drums), and Tommaso Medica (bass) all met while growing up in Bologna. Although Forni and Garrone went to school together in Italy, the three musicians all ended up moving to London independently, where they later reconnected and formed Husky Loops. Taking the jagged cool of post-punk and merging it with rhythmic influences from Afro-beat and hip-hop, the trio began releasing a series of independent singles and EPs beginning around 2014. Within a few years, they'd built up a significant buzz and, following the second of their two 2017 EPs, signed with Danger Mouse's 30th Century Records imprint.

Their debut single for the label, "Everytime I Run," proved to be a breakout for them and got a boost when it was included on the soundtrack to the high-profile FIFA 19 video game. Following a year of touring and major festival appearances in the U.K. and Europe, they released their third EP, 2018's Spool. Another single, "Let Go for Nothing," appeared early the following year.

"Smoke On The Water" Live in Warsaw - from the album "Contractual Obligation" - OUT NOW!

Get it here:
St. Petersburg:

Vocalist Ian Gillan, together with Robert Plant, Ozzy Osbourne and a few others, is considered one of the legendary voices that shaped hard rock. Despite his commitment to Deep Purple, the singer has built an impressive solo career. “Contractual Obligation” is a collection of performances during a recent tour through Eastern Europe, which contains three shows which will be released on different formats via earMUSIC on July 26, 2019:

Contractual Obligation #1: Live In Moscow (On Blu-ray)
Contractual Obligation #2: Live In Warsaw (On 2CD & digital)
Contractual Obligation #3: Live In St. Petersburg (On 3LP)

Still fresh from the success of the studio album “NOW What?!”, and just a few months before the release of the latest and equally successful album “inFinite”, Ian Gillan accepted the offer to tour for a month in Eastern Europe with a full rock show, accompanied every night by a different local orchestra.
Gillan decided to recruit the Don Airey Band, which features the guitar talent of Simon McBride.
All shows were truly unique, with Airey and McBride delivering perfect performances night after night. Deep Purple material (including rarities like “Razzle Dazzle” or “Anya”) went hand in hand with Gillan solo songs and surprises for those into the deepest catalogue.

The title is a humorous reference to Ian Gillan’s notorious reticence to pay any attention to his own or Deep Purple live releases (as he explains in the album liner notes). This live album and video might well be one of the nicest chapters in Gillan’s solo production ever and a reminder about how great his solo music and concerts have been over the years.

Curiosity: The last Deep Purple album was named “Infinity” (which later turned into: “inFinite”) during the afternoon preceding the Warsaw show that ended up being immortalized for its CD release.

“Contractual Obligation” will be available on Blu-Ray (Contractual Obligation #1: Live In Moscow), 2CD & digital (Contractual Obligation #2: Live In Warsaw) and as a 3LP+Download (Contractual Obligation #3: Live In St. Petersburg) on July 26, 2019 on earMUSIC.

Deriving their name from the ill-fated characters featured in the work of writer/illustrator Henry Darger, the Vivian Girls (not to be confused with the "craft pop" duo of the same name) are a Brooklyn-based trio whose gritty, lo-fi tunes nod to seminal indie pop acts like Black Tambourine, Talulah Gosh, and Tiger Trap. Comprised of guitarist/vocalist Cassie Ramone, bassist Kickball Katy (Goodman), and drummer Ali Koehler, the Vivian Girls sprang into the indie circuit in 2008 with a handful of 7" singles released on a passel of small labels, including "Wild Eyes" (Plays with Dolls Records), "Orphanage" (Woodsist Records), and "I Can't Stay" (In the Red Records). Their self-titled debut full-length was released on Mauled by Tigers and In the Red in September that same year. The record became something of a sensation and the trio spent the year touring and gaining fans the world over. Their quickly recorded follow-up album, Everything Goes Wrong, was released in late summer of 2009. After switching out drummers in the summer of 2010 (Ali joined Best Coast and was replaced by Coasting's drummer Fiona Campbell) and taking a break for other projects (Ramone formed Babies with Woods' bass player Kevin Morby, Goodman formed La Sera with Brady Hall), the group hit the studio in late 2010 to record their third album. Share the Joy was released in April of 2011 on their new label Polyvinyl.

Minneapolis punk band Off with Their Heads began in 2003, taking their membership from area punk and hardcore institutions like Dillinger Four, Dear Landlord, Banner Pilot, and the Fake Boys, among others. Based around the depraved and hard-living themes of vocalist Ryan Young's songs, the band existed mostly in the form of an endless string of EP and split 7" releases for many years. Also focused on constant touring, Off with Their Heads maintained a revolving lineup so they could stay on the road more often. In 2007 they released All Things Move Toward Their End, a collection of highlights from the group's lengthy vinyl-only catalog. This compilation was followed in 2008 by their first proper full-length, From the Bottom, and the group self-released a video for the album's song "Fuck This, I'm Out." The band followed up in 2010 with In Desolation. By the time their third album, Home, was released in 2013, the band had finally solidified a permanent lineup, with Young on guitar and vocals, Robbie Stewartwood on bass, and Justin Francis on drums.

Named for a particularly violent branch of the nomadic Germanic Goths who helped bring about the fall of Rome during the Roman Empire's decline in the late fourth century, Salt Lake City, Utah's Visigoth specialize in skillfully crafted, fantasy-driven power metal that brings to mind bands like Manowar, Judas Priest, Dio, and Iron Maiden. Founded in 2010, the quintet, which includes vocalist Jake Rogers, lead guitar player Leeland Campana, guitarist Jamison Palmer, bass player Matt Brotherton, and drummer Mikey Tee, issued their debut EP, The Final Spell, in 2012, which ultimately led to a record deal with Metal Blade, which released the group's debut long-player, Revenant King, in early 2015. Conquerer's Oath, the band's hard-hitting sophomore effort, followed in eary 2018.

Dominic Richard Harrison (born 5 August 1997), known professionally as Yungblud (stylised as YUNGBLUD), is an English singer, songwriter, and musician from Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England.

Yungblud has expressed himself through his music as a "socially conscious artist unafraid of delivering genre-bending protest songs".

His song "I Love You, Will You Marry Me" describes the true story of a man named Jason who proposed to a woman named Clare Middleton through graffiti on Park Hill that ended up being heavily commercialised and profited by apartment owners, but the woman died, and the man is homeless.

His singles began attracting popularity in 2017, when his style was described as "the spitfire suburban poetry of younger Arctic Monkeys and Jamie T, fused with a healthy touch of ska and hip-hop spirit". Yungblud collaborated with Charlotte Lawrence for the song "Falling Skies", which is featured on the season two soundtrack of 13 Reasons Why. His debut album was released on 6 July 2018.

In February 2019, Yungblud and Halsey released the single "11 Minutes" with Blink-182's Travis Barker. The song helped Yungblud gain much more attention on YouTube, aiding his growing fandom. As of July 2019, the music video for "11 Minutes" is Yungblud's most viewed video on YouTube, with over 32 million views.

The Cure - "A Forest (TROS Top 50)" [Rock & Alternative]

A Forest (TROS Top 50)

"A Forest (TROS Top 50)" music video by The Cure
Added: 14-08-2019
Genre : Rock & Alternative
Description : The Cure - A Forest - TROS TOP50 • TopPop

Very rare recording by Gothic rock/ post punk rock band The Cure in the original line-up with Robert Smith, Simon Gallup, Matthieu Hartley, and Lol Tolhurst on the TROS TOP50 TV program Star Club on 14 August 1980, today exactly 39 years ago! Simon and Robert have exchanged their instruments in this video with Simon playing guitar and Robert playing bass.

This tape was recently discovered in the vaults of AVROTROS and we are very happy to present it here for the first time since the first broadcast in 1980.

Broadcast date:14 August 1980.

"A Forest" is a song by the English alternative rock band the Cure. Co-produced by Mike Hedges and the band's Robert Smith, it was released as a single from the band's second album Seventeen Seconds on 8 April 1980. It was their debut entry on the UK Singles Chart, reaching number 31. The accompanying music video was first shown on BBC's Top of the Pops programme on 24 April 1980.

Recorded and mixed over seven days, along with the rest of the songs from the album, "A Forest" is representative of the Cure's early-1980s gothic rock phase. The song has featured on the band's setlists for many years. Several versions have appeared on concert albums, and it was remixed and released as a single from Mixed Up in 1990.

Follow Dermot Kennedy:

Equal parts rustic folk and soulful grit, Ireland's Dermot Kennedy offers his own blend of passionate, introspective songwriting in a vein similar to fellow countryman and forebear Glen Hansard. A native of County Dublin, Kennedy began writing songs in his teens, eventually releasing the EP Dancing Under Red Skies in 2013. Honing his craft over the next few years, he found viral success with his single "After Rain," which racked up millions of streams in 2016. Kennedy's follow-up EP, 2017's Doves & Ravens, signaled a more pop-oriented approach with contributions from some heavy-hitting industry players like co-songwriter Charlie Hugall (Låpsley, Florence + the Machine) and producers Stephen Kozmeniuk and Carey Willetts. The non-album single "Couldn't Tell" appeared in 2018.
