With an imposing figure and booming voice to match, Slim Thug (born Stayve Jerome Thomas) began his rise by dropping in for guest verses -- on mixtapes and other artists' albums -- for several years before making his full-length debut through the Neptunes' Star Trak label. Based out of the northern part of Houston, the MC fell in with Swishahouse's Michael Watts and established a following in no time. This strategy had a lot to do with his business instincts: mixtapes released on his own Boss Hogg Outlawz label circulated throughout the region. (He also acquired a couple record stores and became involved with real estate.) Already Platinum, distributed by Geffen, sustained several release-date delays before its July 2005 street date, and featured production work from the Neptunes and Jazze Pha. The Boss of All Bosses followed in 2009, with Tha Thug Show arriving one year later.

In 2012, Slim Thug kicked off his Thug Thursday mixtape series (the sequel dropped in 2014, with a third part of the trilogy arriving in 2016). He also released the Welcome to Texas series: 2013's installment featured Rick Ross, Pimp C, and Ludacris. That same year, Thug issued a joint album with Lil' Keke titled The Big Unit, as well as his fourth LP, Boss Life, which featured Big K.R.I.T., Paul Wall, Chamillionaire, Bun B, Yo Gotti, and Kevin Gates.

Hogg Life: The DealThug would have another busy year in 2015. Launching his Hogg Life series, he unveiled the first part, The Beginning, that February. Still Surviving followed that summer, with Hustler of the Year arriving in October. A year later, the fourth volume, American King, debuted in the Top Ten of the Billboard rap chart. Thug had a banner year in 2017, with the February release of his Welcome 2 Houston mixtape followed in August by Havin Thangs 2K17, a collaborative album with Killa Kyleon. The World Is Yours, his third major release of the year, arrived in December and featured guests like Cam Wallace and Paul Wall. In 2019, Thug paired with Boston George for the mixtape Big Bad Boston and the Boss.

New Jersey native Pete Yorn took a rather unique route to singer/songwriter acclaim, gaining his first big break by providing the score to a Farrelly Brothers film. Having graduated from Syracuse University several years prior, the 26-year-old pulled up stakes in 2000 and relocated to Los Angeles, California, where he began writing music for film and television. Prospects increased when Yorn was recruited to score Me, Myself, & Irene, a Farrelly Brothers movie starring Jim Carrey. One of his own pop/rock numbers, "Strange Condition," appeared on the film's soundtrack and was subsequently released as a single, where it fared well on the modern rock charts and increased public demand for Yorn's songwriting.

He signed to Capitol in 2015 and reunited with R. Walt Vincent -- the producer of Musicforthemorningafter -- for 2016's Arranging Time. Working once again with Johansson, Yorn issued the 2018 EP Apart, a sequel to the duo's 2009 collaboration, Break Up. Another duet appeared later that year, this time between Yorn and Liz Phair on a cover of Pixies' 1989 classic "Here Comes Your Man."

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds is an English rock band formed in 2009 as the solo moniker of former Oasis lead guitarist and songwriter Noel Gallagher. The touring band consists of former Oasis guitarist Gem Archer, former Oasis session pianist Mike Rowe, former Oasis drummer Chris Sharrock, and The Zutons bassist Russell Pritchard. The band has also had a variety of guests contribute to their albums such as the Crouch End Festival Chorus, Amorphous Androgynous, Johnny Marr and Paul Weller.

On 2 May 2019, the band released "Black Star Dancing", the title track of their EP, which will be released on 14 June 2019. Two further EPs will be released later in 2019. Gallagher has said that the second will have a "Mancunian" sound and the third will be released at Christmas.

The band began a tour of North America with The Smashing Pumpkins in August 2019, with an Australian tour in support of U2 to follow in November.

Kevin Jerome Gilyard (born February 5, 1986), better known by his stage name Kevin Gates, is an American rapper, singer, and entrepreneur. He is currently signed to Bread Winners' Association with a partnership with Atlantic Records. His debut studio album, Islah, released in January 2016 and peaked at number two on the US Billboard 200 chart. Prior to Islah, Gates also released numerous mixtapes including Stranger Than Fiction, By Any Means, and Luca Brasi 2, all of which peaked in the top 40 on the Billboard 200 chart.

On May 31, 2019, Gates released his second EP, titled "Only the Generals Gon Understand".

On June 28, 2019, Gates released "Push It", along with the music video. The song will serve as the lead single to his upcoming second album "I'm Him" .

A favorite on the New York mixtape circuit, Brooklyn rapper Maino, born Jermaine Coleman, grew up in the borough's Bedford-Stuyvesant section in a household with two drug-addicted parents. Lacking parental guidance, Coleman kept to the streets and involved himself in petty crime, which landed him in prison in the early '90s. There he learned to rap so that he could deal with boredom and isolation. In 2003, after about ten years, he was released from prison and wasted no time setting up his new imprint, Hustle Hard. Maino enjoyed his first airplay on N.Y.C. radio via Hot 97's DJ Kay Slay and began making several mixtape appearances during the following years. From his own mixtapes, street singles like "Rumors" and "Take It Like a Man" got his name buzzing among major labels, including Universal, who signed him in 2005. However, the deal eventually fell through, since his intended debut album, Death Before Dishonor, was permanently shelved. Nonetheless, Atlantic picked up Maino and his Hustle Hard imprint in 2007, and the Brooklyn native quickly issued street single "My Life Is Like a Movie" that year. Another track, "Hi Hater," surfaced the following year, prefacing his major-label debut, If Tomorrow Comes... and its platinum-selling single "All the Above," both released in 2009. The Unstoppable EP would land in 2010 with The Day After Tomorrow album and its lead single, "Let It Fly," both following in 2011.

As Lostboycrow, Chris Blair fuses R&B, pop, and electronic music into smoothly soulful songs. After establishing his genre-bending style with streaming hits such as 2016's "Powers," he gave it a more ambitious scope with the Traveler EP trilogy and 2019's full-length Santa Fe.

Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, Blair was into sports as well as music, and joined the high school choir while listening to pop-punk, screamo, and classic rock. Meanwhile, family vacations made him aware of the Crow Indians in Montana, and he became fascinated with their culture. He brought all of these influences together as Lostboycrow in the early 2010s and moved to Los Angeles in 2014. It was there that he met Flor bassist/producer Dylan William, who became one of his closest collaborators. He released his first track, "Adolescent," in December 2014 and followed it with a string of singles including "HiyHiy," "Start Something," and "Say You Want Me."

Lostboycrow's debut EP, Sigh for Me, arrived in 2016 and featured two of his most popular tracks, "Powers" and the Skizzy Mars collaboration "The Lost Boy." That year also saw the release of "Where It All Goes," which was produced by William, as well as "Stay a Little Longer." During this time, Blair amassed a set of songs that he released as a series of three EPs. Traveler: The First Legend arrived in May 2017 and included the streaming hits "Real Name" and the Romeo and Juliet-inspired "Verona." Traveler: The Second Legend followed that October, and Blair completed the trilogy in early 2018 with Traveler: The Third Legend, which featured production by William and his Flor bandmate Zach Grace. At the beginning of the year, Blair and a small group of collaborators decamped to an Airb'n'b in New Mexico to make Lostboycrow's first full-length. The free-flowing sessions and desert landscapes resulted in Santa Fe, which arrived in early 2019 via Red Music/Sony.

Texas trio Midland fuse elements of smooth '80s country and wistful '70s classic rock with a tuneful pop sensibility. The band formed out of a series of picking sessions at bassist Cameron Duddy's wedding in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, when he, singer Mark Wystrach, and guitarist Jess Carson discovered an immediate musical chemistry. Taking inspiration from the Eagles, Dwight Yoakam, George Strait, and Gary Stewart, the three friends relocated to Texas and recorded a series of tracks at Sonic Ranch Studios that eventually led to a deal with Nashville titans Big Machine Records. Making their label debut in 2016 with a self-titled EP, Midland showcased their warm, harmonic blend and hook-filled songwriting on songs like "Drinkin' Problem" and Top Three hit "Burn Out." The full-length On the Rocks, featuring several songs from the EP, appeared in September 2017. It made it into the Top 20 of the Billboard 200 and hit number one on the Top Country Albums chart.

Dream State are a Welsh post-hardcore band from South Wales. Formed in 2014, the group currently consists of vocalist CJ Gilpin, guitarists Aled Evans and Rhys Wilcox, bassist Danny Rayer and drummer Jamie Lee. They signed to Australian record label UNFD in 2017, and have released two EPs, their debut Consequences in 2015 and Recovery in 2018.

On August 20th 2019, the band released their single "Open Windows" and also announced that their debut album Primrose Path, produced by Dan Weller, will be out on October 18th 2019.

British pop-metal outfit Feeder were formed in London by singer/guitarist Grant Nicholas and drummer Jon Lee, who first teamed in the Welsh band Temper Temper. Originally dubbed Reel, the new group's lineup was complete with the addition of Tokyo-born bassist Taka Hirose. After signing to Echo in 1995, Feeder issued their debut EP, Two Colours, followed by the six-track Swim; a series of well-received singles -- "Stereo World," "Tangerine," and "Cement" -- expanded Feeder's fan base further, and in mid-1997 they launched their full-length debut, Polythene. The hit "Day In, Day Out" preceded the release of the trio's sophomore effort, 1999's Yesterday Went Too Soon. Despite not catching on in America, Feeder maintained their popularity in Europe. In 2001, after touring the world relentlessly, Feeder achieved their breakthrough hit in the U.K. with "Buck Rogers." The first single from the band's third album, Echo Park, eventually hit number five on the charts. Before the year's end, the band scored another Top 20 hit with the Just a Day EP and hit the road with the Stereophonics.

Tracks for a fourth album were already in the works when tragedy struck. Founding member Jon Lee committed suicide in his Miami home in early January 2002. He was 33. Nicholas and Hirose saw fit to continue with Feeder, and they resumed recording with former Skunk Anansie drummer Mark Richardson behind the kit. The Gil Norton-produced Comfort in Sound was released the following October. In August 2004, Feeder issued a fan-friendly B-sides collection called Picture of Perfect Youth, and Norton was again behind the boards for the Pushing the Senses LP, which followed in 2005. A year later, with tours of Japan and Europe under their belts, Feeder released The Singles in mid-2006. The career-spanning release collected 20 tracks from the band's five previous albums and a brand-new track entitled "Lost & Found." Select shows in Milan, Berlin, and London opening for the Rolling Stones followed that summer. Two years later, in June 2008, Feeder's sixth studio album, the self-produced Silent Cry, was released. Renegades arrived in 2010, followed in 2012 by the group's eighth studio album, Generation Freakshow. After a short break -- and a solo record from Nicholas -- Feeder returned in 2016 with their ninth studio album, All Bright Electric. 2017 saw the release of their second compilation, The Best of Feeder. Once again, they included a few unreleased tracks with the release, which eventually grew into a nine-track mini-album called Arrow. Off the back of their recent releases, the band had gained a refereshed following; wanting to please their new fans, they released their ninth studio album, Tallulah, in 2019.

German heavy metal/hard rock goddess Doro Pesch is best known for her years with the power metal band Warlock, but she has had a long solo career and continued to command a loyal following (especially in Europe) long after the group's demise. After releasing four albums with Warlock in the 1980s, Pesch set out on her own, touring and recording under her first name, beginning with 1989's Force Majeure. Dialing back on the gothic fantasy metal of Warlock, Pesch adopted a more pop-metal/hard rock sound, which she would continue to hone well into the next century. Shifting musical tastes in the early '90s resulted in Pesch finding most of her success in the European market, where metal still reigned supreme, but as the 2000s progressed, Doro once again found favor abroad via late-career standouts like Warrior Soul and Raise Your Fist.

 In 2017, she released her first German-language LP, Für Immer, via Rare Diamonds Productions, and in 2018 she released the ambitious and anthemic double-album Forever Warriors, Forever United.

Though they would later relocate to nearby Philadelphia, punk rock unit the Menzingers came together in Scranton, Pennsylvania and included former members of local ska-punk bands Bob & the Sagets and Kos Mos. Tom May (vocals, guitar), Joe Godino (drums), Eric Keen (bass), and Greg Barnett (vocals, guitar) released a self-titled demo in 2006, and after it found its way into the hands of folks at Go-Kart Records, the guys earned a spot on the impressed label's roster. The Menzingers' debut full-length, A Lesson in the Abuse of Information Technology, subsequently came out in the summer of 2007. The record went over well and the band found its name spreading steadily among punk fans, especially among fans of groups like the Lawrence Arms. They hooked up with Red Scare Industries next and a four-song EP, Hold on Dodge, was released in May 2009; it was followed by tour dates alongside Broadway Calls. The Menzingers eventually headed back into the studio to work with producer Matt Allison on their next full-length, Chamberlain Waits, which was issued amid growing hype via Red Scare in April 2010. The following year, the Menzingers signed on with punk giant Epitaph Records, and in 2012 they released their third, more mature album, On the Impossible Past. The band continued to grow and refine their sound, incorporating elements of earthy and earnest heartland rock into their sound, a trend that was evident on their 2014 album, Rented World. For the 2017 follow-up, After the Party, the band reflected on hitting their thirties and reminisced about their younger days, with fans comparing the results to their earlier work.

In 2005, when pop-punk superstars blink-182 announced their indefinite hiatus, the band split into two side projects: +44 and Angels & Airwaves. The latter group, fronted by Tom DeLonge, went in a synth-friendly, arena rock direction, debuting in 2006 with We Don't Need to Whisper. By the late 2010s, DeLonge had officially parted ways with blink, and Angels & Airwaves was a full-fledged entity with half-a-dozen releases in its catalog, including the two-part Love series and 2014's The Dream Walker. 

Following the split with blink-182, DeLonge revealed to fans that he would release two Angels & Airwaves albums -- as well as two solo efforts -- in 2015. He managed to release a single Angels & Airwaves EP in September (...Of Nightmares) as well as his first solo album, To the Stars: Demos, Odds and Ends, which featured demos recorded for both blink-182 and Angels & Airwaves projects. The second promised Angels & Airwaves effort was issued in April 2016. The Chasing Shadows EP debuted in the Billboard 200 at number 109 and was paired with a novel of the same name, written by DeLonge and A.J. Hartley.

The group returned three years later with a new lineup -- DeLonge and Kennedy now joined by Ilan Rubin -- and the synth-washed single "Rebel Girl."

Long Beard is the curious stage name of New Brunswick, New Jersey singer/songwriter (and female) Leslie Bear, who fashions intimate, electric guitar dream pop. With the aid of a looping pedal, she began performing locally under the moniker in 2009 while attending Rutgers University, eventually self-releasing a subdued homemade EP, Holy Crow, in early 2014. Ghost Graduation, a split EP with New Paltz, New York's Fraternal Twin, followed that summer. Recorded partly in bedrooms and partly at Salvation Recording Co. in New Paltz, she brought in Chris Daly to produce and engineer her debut long-player, the hazy, introspective Sleepwalker, released in October 2015 by Team Love Records.

Dutch electronic music producer Jay Hardway -- real name Jobke Heiblom -- worked closely with fellow countryman and EDM sensation Martin Garrix, earning Europe-wide recognition for their 2014 hit single, "Wizard." Nestling in an explosion of European producers such as Avicii, DVBBS, and Hardwell, Hardway first appeared on the EDM scene with Garrix in 2012 on the single "Registration Code." Following this break, the Dutchman has gone on to remix Margaret Berger's "I Feed You My Love" and play sold-out shows worldwide.

LOCKET Locket, formerly known as Safe To Say, has signed to Fearless Records & released a new song “Out of Sight.”A way of holding the past close to their hearts, wearing their previous lives as Safe To Say proudly, only now willing to emerge as something new. Locket are four people that have grown up together, and finally find ourselves in a space we always wanted to be in.

The song explores how we “pursue love and continue relationships, regardless of how difficult distance makes things, or how messy a situation can get,” according to the band. Locket will release their Fearless Records full-length debut, which was recorded at Pebble Studios in Ottawa, an old church in Carleton Place, and various basements over the course of several months, later this year.

Singer/guitarist Brad Garcia explained the band’s change of name and where the members are as a unit in the here and now.

“Two years ago, we decided to walk away from touring or playing shows altogether. As a band, and in my personal life, we weren’t in the healthiest of places. We put things on hold in order to figure out what it was we wanted from this band if it were to continue. Looking back to those first couple months, there was always a chance we’d just put things to bed entirely — especially if the time to ourselves didn’t give us that sense of clarity we were looking for. Thankfully, that wasn’t the case. This break gave us a chance to make adjustments to our personal lives, to rediscover our love for writing and playing together, and, most importantly, to resolidify those relationships as people rather than just bandmates.”

Garcia furthered, “So now, to come back after all this time, with something that feels both familiar yet new, it just makes sense to change our name. And Locket seems fitting. We’e proud of everything we accomplished and were fortunate enough to have experienced as Safe to Say. We can metaphorically wear that pride around our necks moving forward, rather than sweep it under the rug. For the time being, we’ll still play some older songs for those that never got a chance to hear them live. But we’re eager to finally share what’s been kept hush over the last couple of years.”

The Reverend Horton Heat is the stage name of American musician Jim Heath (born 1959) as well as the name of his Dallas, Texas-based psychobilly trio. Heath is a singer, songwriter and guitarist. A Prick magazine reviewer called Heath the "godfather of modern rockabilly and psychobilly".

The group formed in 1986, playing its first gigs in Dallas's Deep Ellum neighborhood. Its current members are Jim "Reverend Horton" Heath on guitar and lead vocals and Jimbo Wallace on the upright bass. The band signed to Victory Records on November 27, 2012, and released its 12th studio album, Whole New Life, on December 4, 2018.

The band describes itself as rock and roll that's influenced by 50s rockabilly, punk, country, surf and jazz standards. The band mixes country, surf, punk, big band, swing and rockabilly into loud, energetic songs with often-humorous lyrics. Video games, cartoons and commercials have used the band's songs, giving The Reverend Horton Heat mainstream exposure.

Gothenburg, Sweden-based singer/songwriter Sumie writes delicate, intimate songs that need little more than her voice and acoustic guitar to make an impact. Born Sandra Sumie Nagano to a Swedish mother and Japanese father (and also the sister of Little Dragon's Yukimi Nagano), Sumie taught herself to play guitar and sing; after spending some time traveling and becoming a mother, she began recording her songs in her bedroom in 2008. She released a pair of EPs on Bandcamp, 2010's Transit and 2012's Let's Get Lost, before signing to Bella Union, the label of former Cocteau Twin Simon Raymonde. She recorded her 2013 self-titled debut for the label with pianist Nils Frahm and producer Dustin O'Halloran. Following the album's release, she took some time out of the spotlight and returned to her day job. In 2017, she appeared on songs by Library Tapes ("Cover Hearts") and Tegami ("Screen Dream") before returning with her second full-length, Lost in Light, which took inspiration from Swedish poet Daniel Klevheden as well as David Bowie, Leonard Cohen, and Ennio Morricone.
