A vocalist who takes inspiration from R&B and hip-hop, Layton Greene became an overnight star in late 2017 when a homemade video of her singing Kodak Black's "Roll in Peace" went viral and gave her an audience of millions.

Greene was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on December 4, 1998. She grew up with a love for music and sang for her own enjoyment, but didn't begin taking it seriously until she was 18 years old. Greene began making videos of herself singing some of her favorite tunes and posting them on social media. One of them was a version of Kodak Black's "Roll in Peace," with Greene putting her own spin on the lyrics. To her surprise, after posting it, the clip began attracting attention far beyond her circle of friends, going on to receive more than half a million views. Greene next partnered with producer G-Styles, recording a more professional version of what she called her "Roll in Peace Remix," and after it was posted online in November 2017, it exploded, receiving over three and a half million plays. The track became popular enough to rise to number 12 on the Hot R&B Songs chart. A few days before the end of 2017, Greene dropped her second studio track, an interpretation of Derez De'Shon's "Fed Up" that she called "Fed Up Remix." With G-Styles once again at the controls, Greene had recorded another success, and she celebrated by quitting her day job at a restaurant to focus on music full-time. In 2019, she released the single "Leave Em Alone," which also featured Lil Baby, City Girls, and PnB Rock.

Nicole Bus - "Live @ NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert" [R'n'B, Soul, Funk]

Description : Nicole Bus: NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert

Aug 21, 2019 | Abby O'Neill -- Emerging artist Nicole Bus, who was born and raised in Amsterdam, had an immediate presence about her — a glow that radiated from all 6'1" of her as she sauntered into the Tiny Desk area. She beamed a smile so infectious that her energy and aura were immediately felt. And this was before she graced us with her sultry voice.

Before launching into her performance, Nicole shared how meaningful this moment was and that playing at the tiny desk was a vision board aspiration she willfully manifested.

An ominous piano melody from keyboardist Eugene "Man Man" Roberts helped set an ever-evolving mood on the opening song, "You," along with a seamless blend of horns and flute. Nicole followed by premiering a new song about women's empowerment, "Love It," before closing with "Mr. Big Shot," an up-tempo banger mixing high-energy rhythms with ragga-influenced vocals.

Nicole Bus' sound is nostalgic. It's reminiscent of vintage R&B, yet still feels current, and can transcend age and demographics.

Nicole Bus is a singer and songwriter with a potent, soul-rooted approach to contemporary R&B. Although she made her album debut on major-label EMI with The Heart of the Matter (2011), she truly broke through a couple years later as a quarterfinalist on The Voice of Holland. The exposure led to additional solo releases, including Magnolia (2017), and a deal with Roc Nation launched with the Needlz-produced single "You" (2018).

A broad assortment of music, including gospel, reggae, and pop, reached Nicole Bus as she grew up in her native Holland. At a young age, she was singing in church, and had started playing keyboards, making beats, and writing songs. After high school, she continued to study music and perform while attending Conservatorium van Amsterdam, traveling with groups throughout the Netherlands, Central America, Middle East, and Western and Southeast Asia. She eventually broke out on her own, releasing her debut EP in 2009 and winning the Grand Prize of the Netherlands in 2010, and then, signed with the Dutch division of major-label EMI, released her debut full-length, The Heart of the Matter, in 2011. Two years later, she competed in the fourth season of The Voice of Holland and reached the quarterfinals. Magnolia, her second album, along with the EP T.O.T.A., followed in 2017. Close work with producer Needlz (50 Cent, Bruno Mars, Cardi B) led to a deal with Roc Nation, the outlet for Bus' 2018 single "You." The emotive hip-hop soul throwback, seemingly inspired by Lauryn Hill and Jazmine Sullivan in roughly equal measures, was written in honor of black men. The Erykah Badu- and SZA-styled single "Mr. Big Shot" arrived in early 2019.

Corridor are a group from Montreal and their Sub Pop debut, Junior, was made just yesterday. The rock’n’roll band had barely inked their record deal when they surfed into studio, racing against time to make the most dazzling, immediate and inventive album of their young career: 39 minutes of darting and dodging guitars, spiraling vocal harmonies, and the complicated, goldenrod nostalgia of a Sunday mid-afternoon.

This ain’t Corridor’s first rodeo. Junior is the band’s third full-length and their third recorded with their friend, producer (and occasionally roommate) Emmanuel Ethier. However 2015’s Le Voyage Éternel and 2017’s Supermercado were made languorously, their songs taking shape across whole seasons. This time Dominic Berthiaume (vocals/bass), Julian Perreault (guitar), Jonathan Robert (vocals/guitar/synths), and Julien Bakvis (drums) permitted themselves no such indulgence. The band were committed to releasing an album every two years, and for Junior it required a blitz. “If you want to release something this fall, we need the masters by the 10th of May,” the label had warned them. Winter was already in its last throes: on March 1, Corridor went into studio; in mid-April, Corridor came out. They had somehow created Junior and it was, if we may be so bold, spectacular.

Playing tough, '60s-style soul music that deals with good times, heartbreak, and the realities of life in the 21st century, Durand Jones & the Indications are a potent deep soul revival band based in Bloomington, Indiana. Formed by college students with a taste for vintage R&B and a desire to have some fun, the band found themselves jumping to professional status when their self-titled debut album, recorded on a shoestring using mostly amateur gear, became an underground success as their emulation of classic East Coast and Midwest soul styles won over fans and critics. A storming live show and a reissue of their first album by a larger label helped boost Durand Jones & the Indications' profile, and in March 2019, they released their second LP, American Love Call.

Influenced by the Southern-style swagger of UGK and the rhymes of his hometown heroes the Diplomats, A$AP Rocky gave up slinging drugs in Harlem and moved to Elmwood Park, New Jersey, where he started rapping. By the time he had completed his GED, the self-proclaimed hood outcast had already gained comparisons to Wiz Khalifa and was being championed by Fader magazine, Stereogum, and rap superstar Drake, due to the Internet-leaked singles "Peso" and "Trilla." In 2011, just after he turned 22, A$AP Rocky released the Deep Purple mixtape and followed it months later with the digital release of his debut effort, the street album Live.Love.A$AP. After signing a reportedly large deal with Sony, the album was re-released in February of 2012. Even without an official debut album, the rapper rounded out the year with a nomination for BBC Radio's Sound of 2012 poll, performing alongside Rihanna at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, playing Lana Del Rey's husband in the singer's "National Anthem" video, and landing a spot in a television commercial for the popular video game FIFA Soccer 13.

His official debut album, Long.Live.A$AP, finally landed in 2013 and featured the single "Goldie." Santigold, 2 Chainz, Kendrick Lamar, and Yelawolf were among his guests, while production came from the likes of Clams Casino, Danger Mouse, and Jim Jonsin. Executive produced by Danger Mouse and Juicy J, the album A.L.L.A. (At Long Last A$AP) followed in 2015, featured FKA Twigs and Lykke Li as guests, and debuted at number one. Over the next two years, A$AP Rocky was featured on a number of tracks, including Selena Gomez's "Good for You," Alicia Keys' "Blended Family (What You Do for Love)," and Lana Del Rey's "Summer Bummer." In early 2018, he collaborated with Gucci Mane, 21 Savage, and London on da Track on "Cocky," a single from the film Uncle Drew. His third solo album, Testing, arrived in May that year, debuting at #4 on the Billboard 200 and featuring guest performances from the likes of Frank Ocean, FKA Twigs, Skepta, and Kid Cudi. "Potato Salad," a collaborative single with Tyler, the Creator, and "Sundress," a solo single, followed later that year. In April 2019, A$AP Rocky and Joey Bada$$ collaborated on the track "Too Many Gods," which was featured on the compilation For the Throne: Music Inspired by the HBO Series Game of Thrones.

Enigmatic indie R&B singer Allan Rayman has managed to keep a shadowy profile during his brief music career. After casually dropping a strangely alluring self-released LP called Hotel Allan in 2015, the Lost Springs, Wyoming native racked up an impressive amount of plays, thanks largely to word of mouth and a series of mysterious videos that play like short films. Based out of Toronto, Rayman maintained his cryptic presence on-stage as well, singing soulfully to either pre-recorded tracks or minimal instrumentation, then sitting at a small on-stage table sipping a drink between songs while eerie pre-recorded messages play over the P.A. In spite of his low profile, Rayman built a loyal following who eagerly received his second missive, Roadhouse 01, a similarly strange mix of R&B, soul, hip-hop, and folk that chronicles an alter ego called Mr. Roadhouse. It was released in early 2017 on Mumford & Sons member Ben Lovett's Communion Records. In 2018, he picked up a Juno Award nomination for Breakthrough Artist of the Year. A full-length, Harry Hard-On, appeared later that year followed in 2019 by the single "Stitch."

Spacehog - "Candyman" [Rock & Alternative]

"Candyman" music video by Spacehog
Added: 28-08-2019
Genre : Rock & Alternative
Description : Spacehog - Candyman (Official Music Video)

You're watching the official music video for Spacehog - "Candyman" from the album 'Resident Alien' (1995).

Spacehog are an English rock band formed in 1994 in New York City. Their music is heavily influenced by David Bowie, Queen, and T.Rex. The band's best known single is "In the Meantime".

Resident Alien is the first album by the British glam rock band Spacehog. Released by Sire Records and Elektra Records on 24 October 1995, the album was certified gold on 29 July 1996 and included the hit single "In the Meantime", which reached the top of the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart in the US, and remained there for four weeks. Most of Resident Alien's basic tracks were recorded live in a barn in Woodstock, New York. It was intended to give the album the immediacy of live room recording.

Although Jonny Cragg makes his singing debut in "Skylark" on the band's sophomore LP, The Chinese Album, it is his voice that introduces "Space Is the Place" on Resident Alien. The spoken line in the middle of "Never Coming Down (Part II)", "Everybody in the world is bent", comes from the 1969 movie The Italian Job. The movie also features jail inmates clapping out the rhythm used in this song. In a tribute to the film Candyman, the chorus to "Candyman" repeats the titular name four times (also referencing the Sammy Davis Jr. standard).

"Only a Few" and "In the Meantime" were used in the 1996 movie Libor Karas World Tour, The Bouncing Czech. "In the Meantime" was also used as the theme song for David Spade's 1998 one-hour HBO stand-up comedy special David Spade: Take the Hit; was used in the film Fanboys; is a playable song in the video game Guitar Hero 5 as a re-recording, as the original recording featured in Rock Band 3; and served as the theme song for the TV show Hindsight. "Never Coming Down (Part II)" was featured in the 1996 movie D3: The Mighty Ducks.

Madison Mars - New Vibe Who Dis (feat. Little League) is OUT NOW!

Estonian DJ and electronic producer Madison Mars was born Madis Sillamo. In 2015 he adopted the Madison Mars moniker and began making upbeat futuristic house tracks that often incorporated dreamy vocals and other unique production touches. Throughout 2016, he issued early singles such as "Milky Way" and "Theme O" on Don Diablo's Hexagon music label. There was speculation in electronic music circles that Sillamo was actually Diablo working under an alias, but those rumors were never confirmed. Mars went on to do remixes for P!nk, Hardwell, and Jonas Blue, as well as continuing to release original tracks of his own such as 2017 singles "Atom" and "Magneto." He began 2018 with a remix of Olivia Holt's song "Generous."

Chris Lane knows how to get the particulars of a story across, and in our exclusive acoustic spin of his current hit "I Don't Know About You," he and his cohorts let the strings resound and the melody do its job. Like his other hits, "Take Back Home Girl," "Fishin'," and "New Phone, Who's This," "About You" comes from Lane's 'Laps Around the Sun" album. Chicago rapper Calboy looked to his own struggles with mental health and substances when writing some of his hardest-hitting rhymes. Going so far as to name one of his mixtapes Anxiety, his songs loom heavy with moody melodies and huge trap beats. Several singles such as "Can't Tell" paved the way for new fans, but it was the 2018 single "Envy Me" that broke through to millions with a viral video.

Calboy was born Calvin Wood in 1999. He was born and raised in the gritty South Chicago neighborhood of Calumet City, growing up amid crime and violence. His hostile environment would influence his music from early on, with lyrics reflecting both the tough conditions of street life and the anxiety and depression he felt from it. He formed a crew of artists and friends called the Paper Gang and set about working on music both solo and within this collective. His first mixtape, The Chosen One, was released in 2017 and was followed months later that same year with second mixtape Anxiety. While working on his next project, Calboy dropped the single "Envy Me" in September of 2018. The song caught on in a massive way, being streamed millions of times within its first few months of release.

Made up of Austin Porter, Brandon Arreaga, Nick Mara, Edwin Honoret, and Zion Kuwonu, Prettymuch are an American/Canadian boy band formed in 2017 by British music mogul Simon Cowell. Each member was originally pursuing a solo career until Cowell decided there was much power, aplomb, and magic to be created in combining the five as a boy band. The boys moved into a Los Angeles residence together and began writing and rehearsing both vocal exercises and dance routines, touching on hits by Michael Jackson and Drake while developing their own style. Working on their debut album, the group released a single in the summer of 2017 -- "Would You Mind" was co-written with renowned record producer Savan Kotecha (the Weeknd, Ariana Grande). The song quickly went viral, appearing on numerous streaming hot lists. Prettymuch went on to make their live debut at the 2017 Teen Choice Awards. A year later, they delivered Prettymuch an EP, featuring the single "10,000 Hours." A handful of additional singles appeared during the remainder of 2018 including the Ed Sheeran-penned "Summer on You" and the Rich the Kid collaboration "Solita." Prettymuch returned in 2019 with their second EP, Phases.
