Based out of Mobile, Alabama, rapper Yung Bleu (born Jeremy Biddle, 1994) got into the game in the early 2010s after watching his brother interact with local hip-hop circles. Though rapping since he was 11, he first entered the public arena with self-released mixtapes like 2013's Hello World before eventually becoming involved with Young Boss Entertainment, who worked with the young artist on releasing some early tracks. Over the next few years, Yung Bleu produced a series of mixtapes, Investments, Investments 2, and Investments 3, each expanding on his dark, ominous style and increasingly intricate flows. The rapper eventually developed a working relationship with Boosie Badazz, collaborating with him on several tracks and landing a deal with Boosie's Columbia Records-affiliated imprint, Badazz Music Syndicate.

Film in Theaters November 27

From trailblazing, Emmy-winning writer Lena Waithe (Netflix’s Master of None) and Melina Matsoukas, the visionary director of some of this generation’s most powerful pop-culture experiences, including Beyonce’s “Formation” and the Nike “Equality” campaign, comes Makeready’s unflinching new drama, Queen & Slim. While on a forgettable first date together in Ohio, a black man (Get Out’s Daniel Kaluuya) and a black woman (Jodie Turner-Smith, in her first starring feature-film role), are pulled over for a minor traffic infraction. The situation escalates, with sudden and tragic results, when the man kills the police officer in self-defense. Terrified and in fear for their lives, the man, a retail employee, and the woman, a criminal defense lawyer, are forced to go on the run. But the incident is captured on video and goes viral, and the couple unwittingly become a symbol of trauma, terror, grief and pain for people across the country. As they drive, these two unlikely fugitives will discover themselves and each other in the most dire and desperate of circumstances, and will forge a deep and powerful love that will reveal their shared humanity and shape the rest of their lives. Joining a legacy of films such as Bonnie and Clyde and Thelma & Louise, Queen & Slim is a powerful, consciousness-raising love story that confronts the staggering human toll of racism and the life-shattering price of violence. Waithe wrote the script based on an original idea by bestselling author James Frey (A Million Little Pieces, Katerina). The feature-film directorial debut from Melina Matsoukas (executive producer of HBO’s Insecure) stars Academy Award® nominee Daniel Kaluuya as “Slim” and rising star Jodie Turner-Smith (Syfy’s Nightflyers), as “Queen.” Waithe produces the film via her company, Hillman Grad Productions, along with Matsoukas via her production company, De La Revolución Films. Frey produces via his production company, 3BlackDot, alongside Andrew Coles and Michelle Knudsen.

Robert Palmer performs "Bad Case Of Loving You"

-

"Bad Case of Loving You (Doctor, Doctor)" is a 1978 song, written and originally recorded by Moon Martin, and sung a year later by Robert Palmer. The song became one of Palmer's definitive hits.

Moon Martin originally recorded the song in 1978. Martin's record label Capitol Records released the song in the United Kingdom and Spain as a stand-alone vinyl single, but inserted the song into the United States release of Martin's album Shots from a Cold Nightmare. His original recording did not enter the music charts.

A year later the song appeared on Robert Palmer's 1979 album Secrets. In Palmer's home country, the United Kingdom, the song debuted and peaked at #61 on the UK Singles Chart on 7 July 1979.

The version became more successful in other countries. In the United States, Palmer's version reached #14 on the Billboard Hot 100, #10 on the Cash Box Top 100, and #1 on the Canadian RPM chart in 1979. The Palmer version was remixed with heavier guitars and drums for his greatest hits collection Addictions: Volume 1. The song was nominated for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance at the 22nd Annual Grammy Awards.[4][unreliable source] In the Netherlands, it reached #2 on the Dutch Top 40 chart on 4 August 1979, five weeks after its debut (7 July) on the chart.[6] In New Zealand, it reached #20 in the Top 40 Singles Chart on the week of 7 October 1979, five weeks after its debut at #43 on the chart (9 September)

Hardcore rapper Royce da 5'9" became known outside his native Detroit first for his work with Eminem and Dr. Dre, then through unexpected pop success, prolific solo output, and his roles in the group Slaughterhouse and PRhyme. Born Ryan Montgomery, Royce spent his earliest years in the Motor City and moved to neighboring Oak Park at the age of ten. He absorbed hip-hop through his older brother and radio and television. During his late teenage years, he attended open-mike sessions, eventually battled, and quickly established himself in Detroit's burgeoning underground. His first major recorded appearance was on "Bad Meets Evil," a track off The Slim Shady LP, Eminem's multi-platinum commercial breakthrough released in 1999. Later in the year, Royce and Eminem released "Nuttin' to Do" as Bad Meets Evil, and Royce debuted as a solo artist with the Alchemist-produced "I'm the King." Additionally, Royce co-wrote "The Message," the closing track of Dr. Dre's 2001. Dre had previously offered an Aftermath label deal to Royce, who briefly went with Tommy Boy prior to landing with Game Recordings.

Royce enjoyed even greater commercial success during the 2010s, a period during which his high critical stature as a sharp lyricist likewise escalated. In 2011, he and Eminem reconvened for Hell: The Sequel. The EP topped the Billboard 200 and was trailed shortly thereafter by the release of solo album five, Success Is Certain, a Top 30 hit itself. The year 2012 was especially significant for Royce, not only for the warm reception to Slaughterhouse's Welcome To: Our House, but also for his sobriety date that September. Alcoholism had plagued his life for several years, notably related on "Shake This," and had led to a handful of drunken driving offenses, a prison sentence, and the deterioration of his family life. Royce went through a protracted period of writer's block, but his career resumed in full force in 2014, when he appeared on benefactor Eminem's posse cut "Detroit vs. Everybody" and released his first album with DJ Premier as PRhyme. Another solo album, Layers, was out by the end of 2016. PRhyme 2, along with seventh solo full-length Book of Ryan, materialized in 2018.

Psychedelic jazz/pop trio Brainstory moved away from conventional jazz to incorporate a variety of genres, yielding a unique blend of trippy yet smooth sounds.

Brothers Kevin and Tony Martin played music together from a young age, initially seeking straightforward punk jams. Through a combination of their frequent visits to a gospel church and their grandfather's collection of jazz and soul records, they eventually shifted gears to incorporate those elements. Having enrolled at separate colleges, the brothers parted ways for a time, however, upon finishing their respective degrees they reconvened in Los Angeles. After reuniting they formed an acoustic duo, which got them into the local live circuit. They met drummer Eric Hagstrom in 2012, morphing into a conventional jazz trio, something that they pursued for a couple of years. Wanting to diversify their sound, they began incorporating elements of psychedelia and soul into their music, coining the name Brainstory in the process. Their eponymous debut EP as a trio arrived in 2017. They became good friends with fellow musician Chicano Batman, joining him as a supporting act on his national tour. Batman introduced the trio to Leon Michaels and Danny Akalepse, who went on to sign them to Big Crown Records. Michaels would go on to produce their debut album, 2019's Buck.

Raised Fist is a Swedish hardcore punk band formed in 1993 in Luleå. It currently consists of guitarists Jimmy Tikkanen and Daniel Holmgren, bassist Andreas Johansson, vocalist Alexander Hagman and drummer Matte Modin (formerly of Dark Funeral).

Raised Fist was formed in 1993 in the Swedish city Luleå, with Alexander Hagman as the lead singer. The name "Raised Fist" refers to the Rage Against the Machine song "Know Your Enemy", which include the lyrics: "Born with an insight and a raised fist..."

The band played at the Scandinavian Roskilde Festival in 2004. At one time they were signed to Burning Heart Records, which houses a number of Swedish punk rock and hardcore punk bands.

In 2010 Hagman received a serious electrical shock during a concert in Sundsvall when he touched a power cable which had been punctured by a riot fence. He collapsed on the stage.

The band's album Veil of Ignorance, released in 2009, placed on the Swedish charts and was nominated for a Swedish Grammy Award. Many of the songs on this album were written by Hagman.

In 2013 Raised Fist signed a two-album contract with Epitaph Records. In 2015, after working on the songs for five years, Raised Fist released an album From the North.

English producer, DJ, and musician Shahid Khan, aka Naughty Boy, combines R&B and classic U.K. breakbeat to create a pop-friendly mainstream sound that has helped score him hits with Beyoncé and Sam Smith. Born in Watford, England to Pakistani parents, Khan pursued music seriously after he dropped out of university and worked a number of unsatisfying jobs. His first major work was his songwriting and production for Chipmunk's "Diamond Rings," a playful ska-rooted single that featured a pre-fame Emeli Sandé and reached the Top Ten in his native U.K. in 2009. The next year was bigger, highlighted by productions for Professor Green, Tinie Tempah, and Wiley (the Top Ten "Never Be Your Woman"), all of which involved Sandé. Khan then worked extensively on Sandé's breakthrough 2012 album, Our Version of Events. That October, he released the solo single "Wonder," with Sandé returning the favor as the song's lead vocalist and co-songwriter.

Khan's mainstream breakthrough arrived in 2013 with "La La La" featuring Sam Smith. Upon release, the track topped the U.K. charts and eventually became a global hit, entering the Top Five in Australia and across Europe, while peaking within the Top 40 on the Billboard charts. This success set the stage for the August release of Hotel Cabana, Khan's guest-loaded debut album for Virgin. Featuring Sandé, Wiz Khalifa, Bastille, Ed Sheeran, Wiley, Tinie Tempah, and more, the set peaked at number two on the U.K. charts. An expanded edition for the U.S. arrived the following May. In 2015 he landed in the U.K. Top Ten with the single "Runnin' (Lose It All)," featuring Beyoncé and Arrow Benjamin. He followed with the Joe Jonas collaboration "One Chance to Dance," the first single from his 2018 effort, Bungee Jumping, which also featured Dua Lipa, Mike Posner, MNEK, and Julia Michaels. A single, "Undo" with Calum Scott and Shenseea, arrived in 2019.

Skin and Bones is a live acoustic album by Foo Fighters released on November 7, 2006. The 15-track set was recorded on August 29, 30 and 31, 2006 at the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles and spotlights an expanded eight-piece lineup featuring violinist/singer Petra Haden, former Germs/Nirvana/Foo Fighters guitarist Pat Smear, Wallflowers keyboardist Rami Jaffee, and percussionist Drew Hester. Haden and Jaffee had appeared as guest musicians on the band's previous studio album, In Your Honor. A three-song encore consists of Grohl's solo performances of "Friend of a Friend", "Best of You", and "Everlong". The album debuted at number 21 on the Billboard 200, selling about 49,000 copies in its first week. This was also the album's peak position on the chart.

A DVD of the original shows, featuring a total of 21 songs, was released on November 28, 2006. It was directed by Danny Clinch, who appears briefly on-stage to play harmonica on the song Another Round, reprising the contribution he made to the original album recording of the song for In Your Honor. The UK version of the release is a two-disc set including the band's 2006 (electric) performance at Hyde Park.

The title song was previously released as a B-side on the single "DOA", and was included on the EP "Five Songs and a Cover".

A shared love of heavy metal and, more specifically, metalcore, ensured that the members of While She Sleeps continued the bond they formed at school in Sheffield, England long after their final exams were over. In 2006, singer Jordan "The Face" Widdowson, drummer Adam Savage, bassist Aaran McKenzie, and guitarists Mat Welsh and Sean Long decided to get together after playing in various other groups in the area. The bandmembers played shows regularly for the next three years, and Widdowson eventually bowed out, leaving the door open for Lawrence Taylor to step in on vocals.

While She Sleeps went into the studio with producer Carl Bown in November 2011 and recorded their debut full-length, This Is the Six. The album, released in 2012, was a huge step up sonically for the band, displayed best on the anthemic title track and lead single. In the months leading up to the release of This Is the Six, While She Sleeps played the Download Festival and won the Kerrang! Award for Best British Newcomer. Brainwashed, the band's much-anticipated sophomore outing, dropped in 2015 and featured the singles "New World Torture," "Four Walls," "Trophies of Violence," and "Our Legacy." September 2016 saw the release of "Civil Isolation," the first single from their crowd-funded third studio long-player, You Are We, which arrived in May of the following year.

Dave - "Live @ NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert" [Hip-Hop, Live In Concert]

Live @ NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert

"Live @ NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert" music video by Dave

Description : Dave: NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert

Nov. 8, 2019 | Rodney Carmichael -- Rather than squeezing in a stop by NPR's Washington D.C. headquarters between tour stops, the rapper Dave made a special trip all the way from the UK just for his Tiny Desk performance. If that isn't proof that it was a big deal, his nervousness before the show confirmed it. But he powered through in a performance that puts his gift for making the personal political on full display.

Behind Dave's British stoicism, you get an up-close look at the honest storytelling and stripped-down vulnerability that earned him a Mercury Prize in the UK for Psychodrama and an acting role in Netflix's crime drama reboot Top Boy. He blacks out, lyrically, with a four-piece band and background singer backing him after sharing the inspiration behind the aptly-titled song "Black" from his opus of a debut. "It's just about the black British experience," he says. "Everyone's experience of being black is a little bit different, but this is my take on it. I wanted to deliver it to the world and here it is for you guys."

But the climax here comes near the end, when Dave takes a seat at the piano to accompany himself while rapping his 2018 hit, "Hangman." In the moment before he plays the opening keys, he pauses to take a breath before channeling the weight of the world through his fingers.

Streatham, South London-born grime artist Dave (aka Santan Dave) may only have been 16 when he entered the grime spotlight, but his conscious lyrical style made him sound well beyond his years. Growing up, Dave was inspired to pursue art in some form. Taking cues from his older brothers, he initially tried his hand at animation before moving on to piano before finally settling on becoming a fully-fledged grime MC; unfortunately, his brothers would end up serving lengthy prison sentences. To cope with the drastic alteration to their lives, Dave burrowed even deeper into his music, causing him to develop a socially aware form of wordplay that set him apart from his peers. Despite starting to write bars around the age of ten, it was six years later that Dave would make his first appearance, freestyling on an underground grime channel, Bl@ckbox, in 2015. In January of the following year Dave returned with his first music video/single "JKYL+HYD," cementing his reputation for deep subject matter and ambitious lyrics. In the following months, Dave delivered two key freestyles on BBC Radio 1. The first was on Semtex's 1Xtra show and the second on Charlie Sloth's Fire in the Booth. A number of singles followed, including a standout collaboration with West London's own rising star, AJ Tracey, on "Thiago Silva." By September Dave was ready to drop his first EP, Six Paths. The release was a success in its own right, but gained even more attention when Canadian rapper Drake remixed the single "Wanna Know," bringing Dave's sound to an American audience.
