Fabolous scored his first big hit, "Can't Deny It," right out of the gate in 2001, instantly establishing himself as a rising East Coast rap star with a combination of street-savvy toughness and pop crossover appeal. The Brooklyn rapper (born John David Jackson on November 18, 1977) was one of the first East Coast MCs to embrace the bling mentality of the South as well as the gangsta swagger of the West Coast, all the while incorporating a subtle undercurrent of pop-rap into his music. He was among the first of a new breed of New York City rappers, later and most notably to include 50 Cent, who were able to cross over among multiple markets without losing street cred. His youth was key, but so was his bravado, and when Fabolous could balance this persona optimally and find a production formula to fit, commercial success resulted.

In 2019, a year after the series' second installment, Fabolous issued part three, Summertime Shootout 3, which featured the singles "Flipmode" with Velous and Chris Brown, and "Ooh Yeah" with Ty Dolla $ign.

One of the more fascinating artistic evolutions since the late 2000s has been that of Tyler, The Creator. The rapper and producer surfaced as a founding member of Odd Future, an outlandish alternative rap crew that gradually permeated the mainstream as it begat a multitude of related projects. A high percentage of these recordings, including Earl Sweatshirt's Earl (2010), Odd Future's The OF Tape, Vol. 2 (2012), and Frank Ocean's Grammy-winning Channel Orange (2012), have been made with Tyler's deep involvement. As a solo artist, Tyler's output has gleefully swung from purposefully distasteful and crude to charming and sophisticated, sometimes blurring the distinction between the extremes. All four of his own albums, namely Goblin (2011), Wolf (2013), Cherry Bomb (2015), and Flower Boy (2017), have debuted within the Top Five of the Billboard 200, distinguished most (above all other qualities) by his gravelly voice and an irascible disposition befitting a collision-shop owner. Tyler reached a new level of acceptance with the kaleidoscopic latter LP, nominated for a Grammy in the category of Best Rap Album. Since then, he has continued to extend his reach outside the Odd Future universe with IGOR (2019), another Grammy-nominated recording.

Born in Chicago in 1997 but later relocating to Miami, Florida, Omar Pineiro initially tried his hand at producing, wanting the fortune of a lucrative entertainment career but none of the attention or the limelight. After a few false starts under various monikers, Pineiro took to rapping over his own beats when no one else was interested in using them. Drawing on the influence of rappers he loved growing up, like Lil Wayne, Chief Keef, and Young Thug, he took the name Smokepurpp and started posting his tracks online while still in high school. Around this time he forged friendships with other rappers such as Lil Pump, and eventually dropped out of school in his senior year when his music career began taking off. By age 18, he'd gained some exposure for songs such as "Samsung Jumpin'" and "Ski Mask," which scored millions of plays online. International touring soon followed, as did a record deal with Interscope subsidiary Alamo Records in 2017. While working toward an official debut, Smokepurpp flirted with the idea of changing his name to Lil Water and released his Deadstar mixtape in September of 2017. Bless Yo Trap, a joint project with Canadian hitmaker Murda Beatz, followed in 2018. He closed out the year with the single "But I Still Respect Women."

While still working with a hard-edged production and powerful delivery, rapper Quando Rondo opted for a more emotionally nuanced lyrical approach and R&B undercurrents that set him apart from the vast majority of his peers. Even when flowing over-stylized trap beats, his songs were intelligent and complex while still incorporating enough melodic elements to keep them pop friendly. Quando Rondo's rise was massive and quick, perhaps best exemplified by the titles of his inspired mixtapes Life B4 Fame, released in April 2018, and Life After Fame, released just five months later.

Over My Heart is the seventh and final studio album by American singer Laura Branigan. Released in August 1993, it was Branigan's most personal album and saw her again try her hand at producing, alongside successful producer Phil Ramone. While the Gloria Estefan-penned "Love Your Girl" was aimed for the clubs that made her famous, the album was ballad-heavy, including the opener "How Can I Help You To Say Goodbye"; the Spanish-language "Mujer Contra Mujer"; "Mangwane (The Wedding Song)" (taught to her by her friend Stevie Godson, who was also the executive producer on the track), sung in Sotho, a South African language, and recorded there with the Mmabana Children's Choir; and several of her own compositions, "Didn't We Almost Win It All" and "Over You".

Brooklyn-based rapper Fivio Foreign started out primarily contributing featured verses to other rapper's songs, but he broke through in a big way with his 2019 single "Big Drip." The song was a viral success and opened doors to a major-label contract and his first project, a four-song EP titled Pain and Love.

Fivio Foreign's bold and powerful East Coast sound was first heard on cameo verses for songs from friends like Ether and Yelz Feva. In the summer of 2019, his infectiously abrasive single "Big Drip" caught the attention of many new listeners, and the video was streamed millions of times. He immediately followed with singles "Jumpin" and "Deli," each of which continued to build on the momentum the rapper was experiencing. Before the end of the year, Fivio Foreign released the Pain and Love EP and signed on with Columbia Records.

Los Lobos - "Live @ NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert" [Rock & Alternative, Live In Concert]

Live @ NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert

"Live @ NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert" music video by Los Lobos
Added: 23-12-2019

Description : Los Lobos: NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert

Dec. 18, 2019 | Felix Contreras -- When Los Lobos gathered behind the Tiny Desk, it felt like they were cramped in the back room of a family Christmas party. "The only thing missing today are the tamales!," I told my office mates while introducing the band, a reference to a Mexican-American Christmas meal staple. The vibe in the room was definitely familia, with the presence of many long-time fans as well as folks who came for the holiday cheer, Lobos style.

The band called up tunes from the Latin Holiday song book, straight from their recently released, first-ever Christmas album, Llegó Navidad, a bilingual collection of songs from across Latin America and the U.S.

They kicked it off with an obscure novelty hit that was once popular in Latino households in the southwest, "¿Dónde Está Santa Claus?." It was originally a lushly orchestrated affair that is now a "lowrider oldie."

The new album's title cut, "Llegó Navidad," is actually a classic from the Fania Records catalog originally performed by the Puerto Rican composer and singer Ismael Rivera. Los Lobos retains its pan Latin callout to holiday celebrations across Latin America, set to a slow burning montuno groove.

The band adds a David Hidalgo and Louie Perez original to the Latin holiday songbook with "Christmas and You," a plaintive ballad about desperate loss that we would easily call a carte vena (vein cutter). The great Mexican essayist Alma Guillermoprieto once wrote that it's not a real Mexican party "until someone cries" and this song does the trick.

The party ends by sending everyone home, dancing with "It's Christmas Time In Texas," a song by the great Tex- Mex troubadour, Freddy Fender. It's a Los Lobos scorcher, complete with accordion and good times that would get even abuelita dancing.
