A versatile, female-fronted metalcore unit based out of Ukraine, Jinjer have found success both in their Eastern European homeland and abroad with their punitive blend of post-hardcore and death/progressive/nu-metal. Drawing from a wide array of influences, including R&B, soul, hip-hop, and the full spectrum of heavy metal, the band formed in 2009 and features a lineup consisting of Tatiana Shmailyuk (vocals), Roman Ibramkhalilov (guitar), Eugene Abdiukhanov (bass), and Vladislav Ulasevich (drums). Jinjer issued a pair of EPs, 2009's OIMACTTA and 2012's Inhale, Do Not Breathe, before breaking big at home with the release of a full-length version of the latter album in 2013. The group's sophomore long-player, 2014's Cloud Factory, caught the attention of heavy metal institution Napalm, which signed Jinjer and released their third full-length effort, King of Everything, in 2016. The group toured heavily in support of the LP, hitting the European festival circuit and making their presence known overseas as well. In early 2019, the band returned with the Micro EP, again on Napalm.

During the 2010s, Russ Vitale -- a rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer -- emerged from the Atlanta-area underground with dozens of independent singles and albums, all of which were made freely available as downloads.

Inspired by 50 Cent and Eminem, as well as the classic rock he absorbed as a youngster, the New Jersey-born Vitale gradually learned to play several instruments, including guitar, which was taught to him by his father. After a short period of enrollment at Kennesaw State, Vitale established Diemon, a collective and label. His prolific output switched between swaggering modern hip-hop anthems and woozy R&B-oriented ballads, with relaxed melodic hooks the common element in both modes. He gradually gained a significant following through word of mouth and exposure from alternative weeklies and major rap publications. In 2015 and 2016, his career really picked up with cuts like "Losin Control," "What They Want," and "Pull the Trigger," which were among his most popular recordings to that point.

Russ signed to Columbia Records in 2017 and released his major-label debut, There's Really a Wolf. The album featured the aforementioned singles and debuted in the Top Ten of the Billboard 200. It was later certified platinum. As the year progressed, Vitale continued to release singles, including "Prosper," "Maybe," and "Lean on You." He continued his singles series into 2018, leading up to the release of his second full-length, Zoo. Featuring guest appearances from Rick Ross and Snoop Dogg, the album reached the Top Five of the Billboard 200. Later that year, he issued a trio of Zoo-session tracks as an EP titled Just in Case. He continued into 2019 with the single "Aint Goin Back."

Birds of Tokyo made their recording debut in 2005 with a pair of EPs (Birds of Tokyo, One Way/Stay) released in association with the independent label Egg Records. The song "Stay" earned the band its first of many WAMi Awards (West Australian Music Industry Awards), this one for Rock Song of the Year. Two years later, Birds of Tokyo released their full-length album debut, Day One (2007), and won a pair of WAMi Awards (Favorite Newcomer, Best Male Vocalist). Their second album, Universes (2008), marked their mainstream breakthrough, peaking at number three on the Australian albums chart and spawning a pair of singles ("Silhouettic," "Broken Bones").
