A Los Angeles, California-based folk-rock artist with a dreamy and hook-filled indie pop heart, Phoebe Bridgers' evocative lyrics and commanding voice have drawn comparisons to artists like Julien Baker, Conor Oberst, and Julia Jacklin. A graduate of the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, Bridgers released her debut 7", "Killer," in 2015 via Ryan Adams' Pax AM label. A trio of buzzworthy singles, "Smoke Signals," "Funeral," and "Motion Sickness," appeared in early 2017 in anticipation of the release of her Dead Oceans-issued debut LP, Stranger in the Alps, which arrived later that September. In 2018, Bridgers garnered even more widespread acclaim with the release of the Boygenius EP, a collaborative effort with fellow indie songwriters Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus.

Known for acting roles including Zoe Vaughn on MTV's Scream series, Kiana Ledé has also been active as a pop and R&B vocalist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from a young age.

After landing a contract with major label RCA by winning Kidz Bop's Kidz Star USA talent competition in 2011, she made her recording debut soon after with "Do the Mermaid" for an animated film. "Hey Chica," her first single, followed in 2012 and appeared on the soundtrack for the second Smurfs movie. For a few years, Ledé was visible more as an actor than a singer. Signed to Orange Factory Music, she began recording piano ballads (including covers of contemporary hits), as heard on the 2015 EP Soulfood Sessions. A year later, she issued the holiday-themed Christmas by Ledé. A series of singles, including "I Choose You" and "FairPlay," arrived on the UMG-distributed Republic label during 2017, with a remix of the latter track landing on her third effort, Selfless, which was released in 2018. That year, Ledé starred in the Netflix comedy All About the Washingtons with Rev Run and his wife, Justine Simmons. A remix of the Selfless album track "EX," with rapper Lil Baby, was issued in early 2019.

Fight The Fight - "Triggerfinger" [Metal & X-Core]

Triggerfinger

Description : Fight the Fight "Triggerfinger" (Blacklight Media)

Fight the Fight's new single "Triggerfinger" from their forthcoming album "Deliverance."

It's fast, it's wild, it's energetic! Bouncy guitar riffing opens up what Fight The Fight call their "Triggerfinger". Musically the song lies in between a metalcore influenced version of Devin Townsend Project and crazy mathcore similar to the calm side of The Dillinger Escape Plan. Still, Fight The Fight maintain their unique style of modern, progressive and core-influenced metal. One of the catchiest choruses you'll hear today follows uncommon rhythmical drum patterns, and makes "Triggerfinger" a true fun song to listen to. Bouncing heads incoming!

The band states: "The song is about being at war with yourself, the mind and the alter ego. Everything gets out of control or maybe it all falls in part? It's up to you how you see it."

"Triggerfinger" is the first single off their upcoming sophomore album titled Deliverance, to be released on September 18th!

In Christianity, deliverance ministry (https://ift.tt/2VlNj73) refers to the activity of cleansing a person of demons and evil spirits in order to address problems manifesting in their life as a result of the presence of said entities and the root causes of their authority to oppress the person. The band states: "You can say that in many ways writing this album has been a path to set free our individual alter egos. These are all coming out in the lyrics during the album. It is not about cleansing but realizing. Always be true to yourself and everyone around you. Sometimes you have to let that beast out and here it is, a beast of an album!"

Known for her soft, lo-fi folk sound, London's Bea Regner, aka Beabadoobee, first emerged online with her sweetly attenuated 2017 viral single "Coffee." Only 17 at the time, she signed with the Dirty Hit label, which issued her second EP, Patched Up, in 2018.

Born in London to Filipino parents, Regner first became interested in music around age seven, and grew up listening to a mix of OPM (Filipino traditional and modern original music compositions and '80s pop/rock. By her teens she had discovered indie rock and was listening to artists like Kimya Dawson, Karen O & Yeah Yeah Yeahs, (Sandy) Alex G, and Florist, as well as the Beatles and Chet Baker. In 2017, at age 17, she received her first guitar and quickly taught herself how to play by watching tutorial videos online. That same year, she recorded her song "Coffee" in a friend's bedroom, and uploaded it online. A mellow ditty inspired by her relationship with her then-boyfriend, the song went viral, with its video getting over 300,000 views, and gaining even more hits on streaming services. The labels took notice, and Bea issued her debut EP Lice on Columbia before signing with the independent Dirty Hit (home to the 1975, Pale Waves, and Wolf Alice). In 2018, she issued a second EP, Patched Up. Another EP, Loveworm, arrived in April 2019, followed several months later by the single "She Plays Bass."

Garage punk band Le Butcherettes was founded in Mexico by vocalist/guitarist Teri Gender Bender (Denver-born and Mexican-bred Teri Suarez Cosío), who has remained the group's only constant member. Their chaotic sound bleeds the boundaries of punk to embrace everything from mariachi and funk to industrial noise and loopy, absurdist avant-rock on albums like their 2011 debut, Sin Sin Sin.

In 2020, Le Butcherettes returned with another EP release, the seven-song project Don't Bleed. The EP explored themes of shame and revenge with its slick, sinister rock songs.

Pop/R&B vocalist HRVY was born Harvey Cantwell in Kent, England in 1999. Like many starry-eyed youngsters, Cantwell started out mimicking pop stars as a child, pretending to be Michael Jackson or Justin Timberlake while singing for his parents. In his teenage years he was encouraged by friends to upload videos of his performances to Facebook, and in 2013, with the help of manager Blair Dreelan (former vocalist of pop group East 17), he was soon performing live and quickly signing with Universal Music. HRVY's first single, "Thank You," was released in late 2013 and became a huge hit. Among various tours, appearances, single releases, and other pop star activities, Cantwell appeared occasionally as a guest presenter on BBC television show Friday Download, and signed on as a full-time host in 2016. He regularly uploaded videos to his YouTube channel, including frequent cover songs and collaborations with other pop stars. In 2017 he released his Holiday EP, which included the hit single "Phobia," among other tracks. HRVY scored another hit in November of that year with "Personal" from his second EP, Talk to Ya. In April 2018, he found crossover success with "Hasta Luego," a Latin single he recorded with Cuban-American singer Malu Trevejo. Another solo single, "I Wish You Were Here," appeared in September of that year.

"The Last Time" is a song by the English rock band The Rolling Stones, and the band's first UK single written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. Recorded at RCA Studios in Hollywood, California in January 1965, "The Last Time" was the band's third UK single to reach number one on the UK Singles Chart, spending three weeks at the top in March and early April 1965. It reached number two in the Irish Singles Chart in March 1965, and was released on the album Big Hits (High Tide and Green Grass) in 1966.

Although "The Last Time" is credited to Jagger/Richards, the song's refrain is very close to "This May Be the Last Time", a 1958 song by the Staple Singers. In 2003, Richards acknowledged this, saying: "we came up with 'The Last Time', which was basically re-adapting a traditional gospel song that had been sung by the Staple Singers, but luckily the song itself goes back into the mists of time." The Rolling Stones' song has a main melody and a hook (a distinctive guitar riff) that were both absent in the Staple Singers' version. Phil Spector, whose "Wall of Sound" approach can be heard on the recording, assisted with the production.

"The Rising" is the title track on Bruce Springsteen's 12th studio album The Rising, and was released as a single in 2002. It gained critical praise and earned Grammy Awards for Best Rock Song and Best Male Rock Vocal Performance, as well as a nomination for Song of the Year. Rolling Stone named it the 35th best song of the decade, and VH1 placed it 81st on its list of the "100 Greatest Songs of the '00s".

Like the music of her mother and father -- Neneh Cherry and Cameron McVey -- Mabel McVey's first releases weren't easy to classify but were rooted in R&B with a level of maturity beyond her years. She issued her debut efforts, Bedroom and Ivy to Roses, in 2017. While "Finders Keepers" was her first U.K. hit, she topped it with 2019's "Don't Call Me Up," which featured on an expanded reissue of Ivy.

Born in Spain and raised in London and Sweden, McVey showed a deep interest in music during early childhood and studied music production. Her parents didn't know that she was writing music until she was 16. Before she turned 20, she released her debut single, the independently released "Know Me Better" -- a moody, yearning piece of breakbeat soul. Signed to Polydor, she had her second single, "My Boy My Town," out by the end of 2015. Shortly after that, she was nominated in the BBC Sound of 2016 poll (won by Jack Garratt). In 2017, she delivered the mixtape Ivy to Roses, which included the platinum-certified single "Finders Keepers," featuring Kojo Funds. After opening for Harry Styles on his 2018 European tour, she joined Jax Jones and Rich the Kid on hit single "Ring Ring" before issuing her single "One Shot." Early the following year, her single "Don't Call Me Up" became an international hit, rising into the Top 10 across Europe and attracting viral attention in the U.S. The track was featured on the reissue of Ivy to Roses, which added six tracks to the original.

Added: 26-02-2020
Genre : Rock & Alternative, Live In Concert
Description : Elisapie: NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert

Feb. 21, 2020 | Bob Boilen -- Watching Elisapie perform, her intensity is undeniable. I feel it in her gaze, in her deep, soulful bellow. Elisapie is a Canadian singer and songwriter born in Salluit, on the northern tip of Quebec. Her lyrics, most often sung in her native Inuktitut as well as English and French, touch on her life as an adopted child and on meeting her biological mother. Now, as a mother herself, she sings about what it must have meant to her own mother to give up her child. Elisapie left her birth-village, Salluit, as a teenager and headed to Montreal, leaving her community and her sick mom. The songs she sings, here all come from her album, The Ballad of the Runaway Girl and deal with the consequences of her leaving.

The sounds in Elisapie's music have roots in older rock music — in fact, she was a vinyl-spinning DJ and found a connection with the music of Neil Young and Bob Dylan, musicians with a message. Her band is also outstanding, from the bass saxophone of Jason Sharp to the guitars and sounds of Joe Grass and Josh Toal. And take some time to watch and listen to the tasteful drumming of Evan Tighe. This is an extraordinary Tiny Desk from an artist with something meaningful to say.

Elisapie Isaac (also known simply as Elisapie) is a Canadian pop singer, broadcaster, documentary filmmaker and activist. Born in Salluit, Quebec to an Inuk mother and a father from Newfoundland, she performed at age twelve with the Salluit band Sugluk. Isaac collaborated with instrumentalist Alain Auger in the musical project Taima (Inuktitut for "that's all" or "it is done") in the early 2000s. The band's sole album, Taima, won the Juno Award for Aboriginal Recording of the Year in 2005.

In 2010, Isaac's first solo album, There Will Be Stars, was released by Pheromone Recordings. Her second solo album, Travelling Love, was released in October 2012. In the fall of 2012, she released the pop album Travelling Love, recorded simply as Elisapie. The Juno Awards mistakenly nominated her for its breakthrough artist of the year, before realizing that she had been a Juno winner in 2005, and rescinded the nomination. She garnered a Canadian Screen Award nomination for Best Original Song at the 2nd Canadian Screen Awards for her song "Far Away", which appeared in the film The Legend of Sarila. She was nominated for the Juno Award for Indigenous Music Album of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2019, for The Ballad of the Runaway Girl. In July 2019, the album was shortlisted for the 2019 Polaris Music Prize.

A versatile, female-fronted metalcore unit based out of Ukraine, Jinjer have found success both in their Eastern European homeland and abroad with their punitive blend of post-hardcore and death/progressive/nu-metal. Drawing from a wide array of influences, including R&B, soul, hip-hop, and the full spectrum of heavy metal, the band formed in 2009 and features a lineup consisting of Tatiana Shmailyuk (vocals), Roman Ibramkhalilov (guitar), Eugene Abdiukhanov (bass), and Vladislav Ulasevich (drums). Jinjer issued a pair of EPs, 2009's OIMACTTA and 2012's Inhale, Do Not Breathe, before breaking big at home with the release of a full-length version of the latter album in 2013. The group's sophomore long-player, 2014's Cloud Factory, caught the attention of heavy metal institution Napalm, which signed Jinjer and released their third full-length effort, King of Everything, in 2016. The group toured heavily in support of the LP, hitting the European festival circuit and making their presence known overseas as well. In early 2019, the band returned with the Micro EP, again on Napalm.

An eclectic indie rock act from New York, Dirty Projectors are a band of stylistic contradictions. Creating music that is at once challenging and accessible, Dirty Projectors' recordings are full of engaging melodies, thoughtful arrangements, and polished harmonies that are punctuated with angular stylistic shifts, wiry guitar work, and lyrics whose themes sometimes run counter to the sounds they accompany. The brainchild of vocalist, songwriter, and instrumentalist Dave Longstreth, Dirty Projectors first caught the attention of indie rock followers with 2004's Slaves' Graves and Ballads and 2005's The Getty Address, while 2007's Rise Above found them reworking songs from Black Flag's back catalog in truly unexpected ways. While Rise Above earned the group plenty of press, it was 2009's Bitte Orca that was their true critical and popular breakthrough, a commercial success that also found Longstreth and his collaborators writing and performing at the peak of their powers.

In December 2019, Dirty Projectors released Sing the Melody, a live-in-the-studio set that found the touring version of the band performing highlights from the Lamp Lit Prose tour. Along with six songs from the Dirty Projectors' catalog, the album featured "Knotty Pine," which Dave Longstreth wrote in collaboration with David Byrne, and "FourFiveSeconds," the Rihanna/Kanye West/Paul McCartney hit that Longstreth helped write and produce.

One of the most celebrated bands to come out of the Los Angeles "Paisley Underground" scene of the '80s, the Dream Syndicate were different than most of their peers. While bands such as the Rain Parade and the Three O'Clock owed a debt to psychedelia, and the Long Ryders and Green on Red were informed in different ways by roots rock, the Dream Syndicate clearly adored the intricate wordplay and edgy energy of Highway 61 Revisited-era Bob Dylan, as well as the noisy guitars and bracing darkness of the Velvet Underground. Dream Syndicate leader Steve Wynn's initial influences may have been clear, but he was a strong enough songwriter to give the group material that stood on its own, and over the course of their run, the Dream Syndicate took their music in a number of bracing directions. After the stark, nervy sound of their first album, 1982's The Days of Wine and Roses, they crafted a darker and more ambitious follow-up, 1984's Medicine Show, that moved them into a dustier and more rock-oriented direction. 1986's Out of the Grey and 1988's Ghost Stories stripped down the group's approach and embraced a wiry, energetic attack, but they came as the group was winding down. With 2017's How Did I Find Myself Here?, Wynn introduced a new Dream Syndicate and a fresh approach that were, as always, dominated by strong guitars and literate songwriting but this time with an experimental bent that suggested their psychedelic influence was finally making itself known.

May 2019 brought another studio album from the band, These Times; their touring behind the album included several dates opening for the reunited Mott the Hoople.

With a sound that doesn't so much find the worlds of symphonic and brutal death metal merging as it does colliding, Italian band Fleshgod Apocalypse are one of those rare groups whose music is actually more intense and physical than their name. Over a clutch of consistent, ever more intricate and dissonant recordings, this Roman outfit has impacted the global metal scene profoundly with its sculpted compositions and unrelenting, noisy attack, heard first on 2009's Oracles. Despite lineup changes, they only succeeded in becoming more ambitious, as evidenced by the concept offering Labyrinth in 2013, based around the mythological "Labyrinth of Knossos."

They emerged with Veleno in 2019 (Italian for "venom"). The set was marked by the inclusion of a full orchestral string section and choir, and was mixed and mastered by Jacob Hansen. Before the album's release in the spring of 2019, Paoli noted that since he had become the band's permanent lead vocalist, the date would be the last Fleshgod Apocalypse record on which he'd play drums; he then handed the reins off to live drummer David Folchitto.
