Country-rock band LANCO -- which stands for Lancaster & Company -- were formed in 2013 by namesake and frontman Brandon Lancaster. Hailing from Georgia, Tennessee, and Kentucky, the quintet members included drummer Tripp Howell, guitarist Eric Steedly, keyboardist Jared Hampton, and bassist Chandler Baldwin. Crafting feel-good country anthems tinged with classic rock and blues edges, LANCO got their start after a chance meeting between Lancaster and producer Jay Joyce (Eric Church, Little Big Town) at a Keith Urban concert. Joyce signed LANCO to his publishing company and produced their eponymous debut EP. The band signed with Sony Music Nashville imprint Arista Nashville in late 2015. Their second EP, Extended Play, was released in early 2016. It contained three of the same songs as their debut, exchanging "High" for newer track and lead single "Long Live Tonight," a pop-infused country song with a Kings of Leon undercurrent. In 2017, their song "Greatest Love Story" was also featured as the theme for the Netflix series The Ranch, and this placement helped break the band, with the single reaching Billboard's Hot Country Songs Top Ten. Hallelujah Nights, the band's long-awaited full-length debut, appeared in January 2018. They returned the following year with the single "Rival."

Known for his eclectic sound and broad range of influences, B Young is a rapper from Hackney, East London who made his appearance on the scene in 2017 with the single "Been Wavey." With inspirations ranging from dancehall to Afrobeat, his diverse taste along with his skill in music production ultimately developed into smooth, summer-laden hip-hop. He spent some years working as a sound engineer in London before deciding to put out some of his own material. After the release of "Been Wavey," he returned in early 2018 with his most definitive track, "Jumanji," which led to a label deal with Columbia Records. He followed up with his third single release, "079Me" later that summer and set out on a nationwide tour that November.

New Zealand indie electronic ensemble the Naked and Famous make driving, melodic pop with an '80s post-punk influence. Centered around the talents of vocalist Alisa Xayalith and instrumentalist/vocalist Thom Powers, the band formed in 2008 and released two EPs before adding members to play live. In 2010 they released their debut album, Passive Me, Aggressive You, featuring the number one single "Young Blood." In support of their debut, the band went on a massive world tour, performing some 200 odd dates.

With the tour at an end, the group found themselves relocating to Laurel Canyon, Los Angeles in 2012 with the aim of writing and recording their sophomore release. Working with the likes of Alan Moulder and Justin Meldal-Johnson, the group released their second album, In Rolling Waves, in September 2013. Buoyed by the singles "Hearts Like Ours," "A Stillness," and "I Kill Giants," the album reached number four in New Zealand and peaked at number 14 on Billboard's U.S. Top Alternative Albums chart.
Simple Forms. In 2016, the Naked and Famous returned with their third full-length album, Simple Forms. The album came after an extended hiatus during which time Powers and Xayalith ended their romantic relationship; a painful transition that informed the recording of the album. Produced at Powers' home in Echo Park in Los Angeles, Simple Forms featured the single "Higher." Over the next year, the band toured, joining Wavves and blink-182 as a supporting act. In 2018, they delivered A Still Heart, which featured acoustic versions of songs off their previous albums.

Finnish industrial metal band Turmion Kätilöt made their debut in 2003 and reached Top Ten success with regularity. Founded in 2003 in Kuopio, Finland, by MC Raaka Pee (vocals) and DJ Vastapallo (guitar), the band also includes members Spellgoth (vocals), RunQ (keyboards, programming), DQ (drums, percussion), and Master Bates (bass). Turmion Kätilöt made their debut in 2003 with the Top Five hit single "Teurastaja." The follow-up single "Verta ja Lihaa" followed shortly thereafter and was also a hit. Both songs were later included on Hoitovirhe (2004), the band's full-length album debut on Spinefarm Records. The five-track EP Niuva 20 (2005) preceded the release of second album Pirun Nyrkki (2006), a Top Ten hit whose title track nearly topped the Finnish singles chart, peaking at number two. Third album U.S.C.H! (2009), another Top Ten hit, was released on Raha Records after a disagreement between Turmion Kätilöt and Spinefarm Records. The lead single "Minä Määrään" was released digitally for free on the band's website in 2008.

DEEP PURPLE RELEASE “THROW MY BONES” TODAY, THE FIRST SINGLE OF THEIR UPCOMING STUDIO ALBUM “WHOOSH!”

March 20th sees the release of “Throw My Bones”, the first single from Deep Purple’s highly anticipated studio album “Whoosh!”.

“Throw My Bones” is a song to remember; a powerful insight into the bands 21st studio album.

The single is accompanied by a music video that pushes the boundaries of time and place. It is an invitation to take a step back and see the bigger picture, a call for action and an invitation to observe the planet and the current situation on earth.

Deep Purple’s brand-new studio album “Whoosh!” follows their worldwide chart-topping albums “inFinite” (2017) and “NOW What?!” (2013). For the third time, Deep Purple joins forces with producer Bob Ezrin, and together they created the most versatile album in their collaboration, “stretching out in all directions” without any limitation, letting their creativity go.

“Deep Purple is putting the Deep back into Purple” was the half-joking motto in the studio after the first songs made it clear that Ezrin and Purple were on a path to creating an album pushing the boundaries of time, while voicing their resentment about the current situation of the world and addressing all generations.

“Whoosh is an onomatopoeic word that, when viewed through one end of a radio-telescope, describes the transient nature of humanity on Earth; and, through the other end from a closer perspective, illustrates the career of Deep Purple.” - ig

“Whoosh!” will be available as Limited CD+DVD Mediabook (incl. the 1h feature “Roger Glover and Bob Ezrin in conversation” and, for the first time, the full live performance at Hellfest 2017 as video), 2LP+DVD Edition, Limited Boxset and Digital on June 12th, 2020 on earMUSIC.

Already the content of the Limited Box Set has been revealed yesterday. It will contain the 2LP Gatefold, the CD+DVD Mediabook, three 10” vinyls containing previously unreleased live recordings from Deep Purple’s performance in Rio 2017 “The inFinite Live Recordings, Vol. 2”, an exclusive Deep Purple Collector’s T-Shirt as well as three Art Prints.
You can pre-order the album here: https://ift.tt/2U9r2sd

Coinciding with the release of the new album, Deep Purple will also embark on a full European tour starting in summer 2020.

During the most successful period of their career, the much-loved veteran German melodic heavy metal unit Bonfire were one of the most acclaimed international hard rock acts. Formed in the city of Ingolstadt in 1980 under the name Cacumen, the personnel changed over time, with the only permanent member being founder Hans Ziller. The band, which has drawn comparisons to like-minded decibel-pushers like Scorpions, Accept, Whitesnake, and Saxon, released its debut long-player, Don't Touch That Light, in 1986. The group issued three more full-length albums, Fire Works (1987), Point Blank (1989), and Knock Out (1991), before closing up shop for a short period of time in light of the peaking grunge and alt-rock scene. They returned in 1996 with the aptly named Feels Like Comin' Home, followed closely by Rebel Soul (1998) and Fuel to the Flames (1999). The turn of the century saw Bonfire continuing their newfound prolificacy, releasing a string of LPs and concert albums, with highlights arriving via 2003's Free, 2006's Double X (which celebrated their 20th anniversary), and their ambitious 2008 rock opera The Räuber. In 2015, the band released Glorious, their 15th LP, and in 2016 they issued their first double album, Pearls, which featured newly recorded versions of some of their best-loved songs. Byte the Bullet, an album of all-new originals, arrived in 2017, with another new set, Temple of Lies, dropping the following year.

Both a departure from and a continuation of his work with Talk Talk and .O.rang, Paul Webb's Rustin Man project shares not only members with those bands, but a sophisticated approach and heartfelt spirit. Rustin Man's first album, 2002's Out of Season, was a collaboration with Portishead's Beth Gibbons that allowed her and Webb to take their love of Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, and Nick Drake in thoughtful, soulful directions of their own. Nearly two decades later, Webb sang lead for the first time on 2019's Drift Code, a haunting set that proved the power of Rustin Man's music had only grown during his time away from the spotlight.

Nick Holmes states: "This is a song about struggling through difficult times, and a point blank refusal to accept that the end is within range."

Guitarist Greg Mackintosh adds: "The first song written for 'Obsidian' so probably one of the closest in style to the previous album 'Medusa'. It has quite a few different elements to it but is essentially a classic PL song. Doom laden, but hopefully heartfelt and subtle in places."

British doom metal band Paradise Lost formed in Halifax, England in 1988; originally comprising vocalist Nick Holmes, lead guitarist Gregor Mackintosh, rhythm guitarist Aaron Aedy, bassist Steve Edmonson, and drummer Matthew Archer, the group recorded a pair of demo tapes, Drown in Darkness and Frozen Illusion, before signing with Peaceville Records to issue their debut album, Lost Paradise, in early 1990. The follow-up, 1991's Gothic, was the band's breakthrough, its dark production and orchestral elements setting them apart from the competition; a major European tour also expanded Paradise Lost's fan base dramatically. Signing with the Music for Nations label, they returned in 1992 with Shades of God, considered by many to be their high-water mark; an EP, As I Die, appeared later that same year, complete with cover art by the incomparable Dave McKean.

After 1993's Icon, Archer left Paradise Lost, and was replaced by drummer Lee Morris; Draconian Times followed in 1995, with the more goth rock-oriented One Second released two years later. Arriving in 1999, Host, their first outing for EMI Germany, saw Paradise Lost straying even further away from their doom metal past by introducing elements of trance and melancholy downtempo into the mix. In 2002, the band moved to Gun Records and released Symbol of Life, which employed a harder, more metallic approach and featured guest spots from Devin Townsend, Jamie Muhoberac, and Lee Dorrian. Two years later Lee Morris left the group and was replaced by Jeff Singer, who made his first Paradise Lost album appearance on the group's eponymous 2005 outing. Released in 2007, In Requiem was issued via Century Media, as was 2010's Faith Divides Us – Death Unites Us and 2012's Tragic Idol, the latter of which marked the debut of new drummer Adrian Erlandsson, who replaced outgoing traps man Jeff Singer in 2008. In 2015, The Plague Within saw Paradise Lost return to their doom/death metal roots, as did 2017 punishing Medusa, their 15th studio long-player and first for Nuclear Blast.

Munich, Germany's Heaven Shall Burn specialize in highly controversial and politicized death metal fused with hardcore; a hybrid style often referred to as deathcore. Combining their militant defense of social concerns (racism, corruption, animal cruelty, veganism, etc.) with a seemingly boundless metallic wrath, the group's brutalizing sonic onslaught has drawn comparisons to traditional death metal bands like England's Bolt Thrower, as well as the less regimented, but equally emphatic work of Sweden's the Haunted. Founded by guitarist Maik Weichert and drummer Matthias Voigt in the fall of 1996, Heaven Shall Burn (initially named Consense) soon included singer Marcus Bischoff and bassist Eric Bischoff. Following a set of demos, the band recorded a 1998 mini-CD entitled In Battle There Is No Law (reissued on CD with bonus tracks in 2002) and a split LP with Fall of Serenity before welcoming second guitarist Patrick Schleitzer into their lineup. Signing with Lifeforce Records in early 2000, they subsequently unleashed the very competent Asunder album, as well as another split CD (this one with Caliban) and proceeded to tour both Europe and South America. 2002 saw the release of another acclaimed effort, and their first to gain worldwide distribution, Whatever It May Take, after which the group signed with Century Media and cut their third full-length album, Antigone, in 2004. Their Century follow-up, Deaf to Our Prayers, followed in 2006 and in 2008, the band released the first of three conceptual albums Iconoclast 1: The Final Resistance. The second piece in the set, Iconoclast II: Bildersturm - The Visual Resistance, was a live DVD/CD that appeared in 2009. Rounding out the Iconoclast series was 2010's Iconoclast III: Invictus. During this time, drummer Matthias Voigt was temporarily replaced on-stage due to back surgery. Though he returned for the release of 2013's Veto, he was forced to leave the band for good later that year due to recurring health problems and was replaced by Christian Bass on drums.
