German EDM producer and DJ Alle Farben has been remarkably successful throughout Europe, scoring several Top 10 pop hits and performing at numerous festivals throughout the continent. While he initially produced and spun minimal tech-house around the turn of the 2010s, he switched to a vocal-heavy dance-pop sound with his debut album, 2014's Synesthesia: I Think in Colours. He released several singles which were certified platinum in Germany and gold in Austria or Switzerland, including 2014's "She Moves (Far Away)" (featuring Graham Candy) and 2016's "Please Tell Rosie" (featuring Younotus).

A native of Berlin's Kreuzberg district, Frans Zimmer started DJ'ing in clubs and bars in 2009. Initially using the name Hundert Farben, meaning hundred colors, he settled on Alle Farben, or all colors. He began releasing tech-house tracks on German label Kallias in 2012, including the EPs Sailorman and Galant. "Tempelhof," inspired by a breakthrough gig at Berlin's former Tempelhof Airport, was released in 2013. Synesthesia: I Think in Colours was released by the Sony-distributed B1 Recordings in 2014, and single "She Moves (Far Away)" became a hit in several countries, hitting the Top 10 in Germany. In 2015, Alle Farben was featured (along with Younotus) on Anna Naklab's cover of "Supergirl" (originally by German band Reamonn), which was a massive hit throughout Europe and even outsold the original. Alle Farben's second album, Music Is My Best Friend, appeared in 2016; singles "Please Tell Rosie" (featuring Younotus) and "Bad Ideas" were both Top 10 hits in Germany and Austria. Alle Farben continued releasing hits such as 2017's "Little Hollywood" (with Janieck Devy) and 2018's "Fading" (with Ilira), and the James Blunt collaboration "Walk Away" preceded the release of third album Sticker on My Suitcase in 2019.

Hailing from Southend-on-Sea in Essex, England, Nothing But Thieves make passionate guitar-based rock that balances indie rock artfulness with a pop sensibility. Formed in 2012, Nothing But Thieves feature singer Conor Mason, guitarist Joe Langridge-Brown, guitarist Dominic Craik, bassist Philip Blake, and drummer James Price. The group gained early attention with several EPs, including 2013's If You Don't Believe, It Can't Hurt You and 2014's Graveyard Whistling. In 2015, Nothing But Thieves released their self-titled debut album, featuring the singles "Itch," "Hanging," and "Trip Switch," with the latter reaching number one on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart. Nothing But Thieves would eventually break into the Top 15 of the Billboard Alternative, Heatseekers, and Rock Album charts. After extensive touring, the band returned to the studio, emerging in the spring of 2017 with "Amsterdam," the lead single from their sophomore album, Broken Machine, which arrived in September of that year. The effort peaked at number two on the U.K. charts, while nudging into the Billboard 200. Months later, in 2018, the group released singles for their covers of Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy" and Jeff Buckley's "Lover, You Should Have Come Over."

Crashing onto the hallowed Manchester, England scene in late 2015, Mossley quintet Cabbage injected a fresh dose of vitality into the local scene with their irreverent brand of humor, wild live shows, and scuzzy neo-post-punk. The loutish lads of Cabbage -- vocalist Lee Broadbent, guitarist/vocalist/lyricist Joe Martin, guitarist Eoghan Clifford, drummer Asa Morley, and bassist/producer Stephen Evans -- released their first single, "Kevin," a raucous blend of the Clash, the Fall, and early Nirvana. Beneath the jangly riffs and unhinged vocals, Cabbage revealed their clever depths with lyrical poetry about existential dread and man's purpose for existing.

Description : SYML - Live from Nest Recorders

Recorded at The Nest Studios in Echo Park, Los Angeles - Fennell who wrote these three songs, explores the nuance and simplicity of melody with longtime collaborator Brian Eichelberger and friend Kyle Moore. As such, they recorded “Symmetry”, exposing the haunting refrain on a grand piano, vibraphone and electric guitar. Returning to “Bed” and “Everything All At Once”, two songs of love from SYML’s eponymous debut, finds one focusing on the freedom of Fennell’s falsetto and cathartic chanting, juxtaposed with the counterpoint melody interplay.

Sugarland, the platinum-selling contemporary country act, began as a trio of songwriters from the Atlanta area, each of whom had enjoyed some level of renown as a solo country artist. Lead singer and songwriter Jennifer Nettles had previously fronted Soul Miner's Daughter, and her gospel background and deep soul approach to country music made her an ideal frontperson for the trio. Vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Kristian Bush had formed half of the critically acclaimed duo Billy Pilgrim (along with Andrew Hyra), which had also released a pair of albums. Songwriter Kristen Hall had already released two solo albums on Windham Hill Records. The three musicians came together in 2002 and independently released Premium Quality Tunes, an EP of demo recordings (available online or at Sugarland shows), later that year.

Coming across like a less sensitive, Houstonian version of Drake, Kirko Bangz is a Southern rapper -- and occasional singer -- who released his first charting single, “What Yo Name Iz,” in late 2010. His second charting single for Warner Bros., “Drank in My Cup,” broke through during the summer of 2011, around the same time he issued a mixtape presented by DJ Drama, Procrastination Kills, Pt. 3.

Playing a raw, powerful blend of blues and hip-hop, singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist ZZ Ward was born Zsuzsanna Eva Ward in Abington, Pennsylvania on June 2, 1986. Ward spent her childhood in the small town of Roseburg, Oregon, splitting her listening time between her father's blues collection and her brother's hip-hop records, a blend that would inform her later sound and style. She was singing in her father's blues band by the time she was 12, and by 16 she was performing with R&B and hip-hop acts in Eugene. Moving to L.A. and hoping to break into the West Coast music business, Ward's unique blend of blues, rock, hip-hop, R&B, and neo-soul, as well as her multi-instrumental skills (she's proficient on guitar, piano, and harmonica), brought her a recording deal with Boardwalk Entertainment Group and Hollywood Records, and she began work on a debut album. A free mixtape, Eleven Roses, with Ward's interpretations of contemporaneous tracks by other artists, appeared in February of 2012, with an EP, Criminal, following in May. Til the Casket Drops, the completed album, showed up in October that same year. A track from the album, "Put the Gun Down," rose to number 39 on the Alternative Rock charts, while two other tunes, "Last Love Song" and "365 Days," cracked the Top 30 of the Adult Alternative charts. In 2015, Ward released the four-song EP Love and War, which was intended as a teaser for a 2016 album called This Means War, but the full-length never appeared. Instead, she worked throughout 2016 on the album that became 2017's The Storm. Preceded by the singles "The Deep" (featuring Joey Purp) and "Help Me, Mama," The Storm arrived in June 2017.

Margo Price - "Live @ NPR Tiny Desk (Home) Concert (w. Jeremy Ivey)" [Country, Live In Concert]

"Live @ NPR Tiny Desk (Home) Concert (w. Jeremy Ivey)" music video by Margo Price
Added: 26-03-2020
Genre : Country, Live In Concert
Description : Margo Price & Jeremy Ivey: Tiny Desk (Home) Concert

The Tiny Desk is working from home for the foreseeable future. Introducing NPR Music's Tiny Desk (Home) Concerts, bringing you performances from across the country and the world. It's the same spirit — stripped-down sets, an intimate setting — just a different space.

Margo Price and her husband, Jeremy Ivey, performed a Tiny Desk (Home) Concert from their Nashville attic. Behind them are two handmade signs inspired by John Lennon and Yoko Ono's Bed-In For Peace that simply reads "Stay Home" and "Save Lives." In addition to the rapidly spreading virus, Nashville was recently ravaged by tornadoes. Margo and Jeremy are safely quarantined with two children, their dog and cat, and guitars in hand. They played "Stone Me," a song they co-wrote and included on Margo's upcoming album, That's How Rumors Get Started.

Margo and Jeremy dedicated this concert to all those that are struggling right now and thank "all the people still out there working, the doctors, all the sanitation people, everybody out there just doing what they have to do to so we can survive, all the people working in grocery stores. And to everyone who has lost their job, we feel you." They ended the set with a premiere, a song called "Someone Else's Problem," that they wrote together on an airplane while Margo was pregnant. It's a song dealing with the guilt many of us have, being part of a problem instead of part of a solution.

Armed with an assortment of analog synthesizers and digital sequencers, electro trio Wrangler are named due to their stated goal of wrangling new music from vintage gear. The group is a collaboration between Ben Edwards (Benge), Phill Winter (Tunng), and Stephen Mallinder (Cabaret Voltaire), and their music is a loose, improvisational blend of synth pop, techno, machine funk, and EBM. On albums such as 2020's A Situation, the trio address the world's problems and the failures of technology while keeping things danceable.

Edwards and Winter first used the name Wrangler for a 2008 split single with Scanner; their track was composed using a 1968 Moog Modular 3C, and it sampled the voice of the late Robert Moog. Wrangler's Mind Your Own Sequence 7" was released by disco_r.dance in 2012. The A-side was a cover of Delta 5's "Mind Your Own Business" featuring Winter's group Lone Taxidermist, while Mallinder sang on the B-side, "Sequence On." With Mallinder a full-fledged member of the group, Wrangler released their debut full-length, LA Spark, on their MemeTune imprint in 2014. The group remixed songs by John Foxx, Gazelle Twin, Solvent, and several others. Their second album, White Glue, arrived in 2016, quickly followed by Sparked (Modular Remix Project). A further EP of remixes, Three Memes, appeared in 2018. The same year, the three members of Wrangler collaborated with John Grant as Creep Show, releasing the full-length debut Mr Dynamite. Bella Union, which released the Creep Show album, signed Wrangler and issued A Situation in 2020.

Showcasing the melismatic vocals of Olly Alexander, London's Years & Years artfully combine '80s-style ambient synth pop with funky electronic beats. Their evocative, dancey, cross-pollinated sound drew accolades that included winning the BBC's prestigious Sound of 2015 poll. That same year, they hit number one in the U.K. with their debut album, Communion.

In 2018, they returned with their sophomore full-length, Palo Santo, which featured production by Kid Harpoon, Greg Kurstin, GRADES, and others. Included on the album were the singles "Sanctify" and "If You're Over Me." The album peaked at number three in the U.K. and hit the top of Billboard's U.S. Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart.

Chicago rapper Kene Ekwunife began performing under the stage name KAMI in the early 2010s. As a founding member of the Savemoney collective, KAMI was part of a group of artists driven to explore the more experimental and boundary-pushing side of hip-hop, and saw fellow Savemoney members like Chance the Rapper and Vic Mensa rise to enormous fame. KAMI's first mixtape, Light, was released in 2012, when he was still known as Kami de Chuckwu. Around the same time, he formed the murky, wild duo Leather Corduroys with Savemoney member Joey Purp. Over the next few years, the duo would release multiple critically acclaimed EPs and singles, as well as the LP Season in 2015. KAMI worked on his solo material all the while, dropping singles and guest appearances in addition to his work with Leather Corduroys. KAMI had a highly productive year in 2017, seeing the release of both his solo LP Just Like the Movies and a follow-up EP, Superstar.

Mining the territory where sharp, polished country-pop and soulful Americana meet, Emily Hackett's music defied easy categorization. At first, she received attention for music with pop undertones -- in 2014, her duet with Will Anderson on "Take My Hand (The Wedding Song)," became a viral hit -- but as the 2010s progressed, she threaded stronger country and Americana elements in her music, an evolution showcased on the twin EPs By the Sun and By the Moon.
Born in Cleveland but raised in a musical household in Atlanta, Georgia, Emily Hackett began playing music at an early age. Inspired by Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson, she initially learned how to play flute but quickly moved to guitar so she could sing and play simultaneously. Hackett moved to Nashville to attend Belmont University after high school and stayed in the Music City once she graduated from college.

Initially, Hackett's music leaned toward pop. She released an EP called Fury, Fear & Heartbreak in 2013 but first made online waves later that year by recording Lorde's "Royals" with her friend Megan Davies, a cover that earned some attention online, as did her sweet duet with Will Anderson, "Take My Hand (The Wedding Song)." Both led to the 2014 release of Raw, an EP that found her solidifying her acoustic-anchored pop. As the years passed, she opened for pop-oriented country acts like Lady Antebellum and Rascal Flatts, so she drifted toward adding country to her music, arriving at a blend of soulful, melodic Americana pop. This hybrid was showcased on By the Sun, a 2018 EP that featured the gospel-inflected "Good Intentions" and the flashy 2017 single "Nostalgia." Hackett followed it in 2019 with its companion EP, By the Moon.

Hailing from central Florida, Trivium formed in 2000 and quickly built a buzz around Orlando's metal community with their blend of metalcore, thrash, and progressive metal. Having secured a contract with the German Lifeforce imprint, the band issued its debut album, Ember to Inferno, in October 2003 with a lineup that included vocalist/guitarist Matt Heafy, drummer Travis Smith, and bassist Brent Young. The debut was well received, and Trivium signed with Roadrunner Records for their next effort. Ascendancy appeared in March 2005, at which point the band's roster had shifted to include Heafy, Smith, bassist Paolo Gregoletto, and guitarist Corey Beaulieu. The album was reissued in May of the following year with four additional tracks and a bonus DVD. Trivium then visited the U.K. in June for the 2006 Download Festival, followed by multiple European headlining gigs and a stint with America's traveling metal/hardcore fest Sounds of the Underground. The tour saw them playing alongside other heavy-hitting bands like As I Lay Dying, GWAR, Cannibal Corpse, and Terror.

After the release of the album, Madiro left the band and was succeeded by Paul Wandtke, who lasted less than a year before being replaced by Alex Bent. In late 2016, Trivium partnered with Cooking Vinyl to re-release Ember to Inferno in several variations. The two deluxe editions contained the band's earliest demos, including "Ruber" (aka the Red Demo), "Caeruleus" (aka the Blue Demo), and "Flavus" (aka the Yellow Demo), all recorded when Heafy was between 16 and 17 years old. Late 2017 saw the release of the band's eighth studio long-player, The Sin and the Sentence, which was produced by Josh Wilbur and released via Roadrunner.

After a steady rise in the U.K., she broke onto the U.S. charts with a series of collaborations with Sean Paul, Martin Garrix, and Calvin Harris, as well as multi-platinum singles "New Rules" and "IDGAF" from her 2017 debut, Dua Lipa. American rapper BlocBoy JB emerged in 2017 with a pair of viral hits that highlighted his speedy rhymes and big bass production from longtime producer Tay Keith. A native of Memphis, Tennessee, JB flirted with gang-related criminal activity before quickly immersing himself in his music. After releasing a series of well-received mixtapes, he caught the attention of Canadian rapper Drake, who collaborated with him on the viral single "Look Alive." The track reached the Top Ten of the Billboard Hot 100, and helped solidify JB's fan base.

Born James Baker in Memphis, Tennessee, JB grew up in a large, single-parent household and would sneak his brother's equipment away to record his own music. The self-taught producer and dancer released his first song, "Goons Coming," when he was just a teenager. In 2017, he issued "No Chorus, Pt. 6" and "Shoot," the latter of which took off and caught the ears of high-profile rappers like Drake. Produced by Keith, the track was featured on his Who Am I 3 mixtape, and was recorded in the rapper's closet. As his online audience grew, he issued additional mixtapes like The Purple M&M. In early 2018, he scored a major co-sign when Drake joined him on the track "Look Alive." Included on JB's Simi mixtape, the track amassed millions of streams within a month of its release. It also became JB's Billboard chart debut, landing at number six on the Hot 100. He returned to the studio in 2019 and issued the bouncy single "Mercedes."

A versatile, female-fronted metalcore unit based out of Ukraine, Jinjer have found success both in their Eastern European homeland and abroad with their punitive blend of post-hardcore and death/progressive/nu-metal. Drawing from a wide array of influences, including R&B, soul, hip-hop, and the full spectrum of heavy metal, the band formed in 2009 and features a lineup consisting of Tatiana Shmailyuk (vocals), Roman Ibramkhalilov (guitar), Eugene Abdiukhanov (bass), and Vladislav Ulasevich (drums). Jinjer issued a pair of EPs, 2009's OIMACTTA and 2012's Inhale, Do Not Breathe, before breaking big at home with the release of a full-length version of the latter album in 2013. The group's sophomore long-player, 2014's Cloud Factory, caught the attention of heavy metal institution Napalm, which signed Jinjer and released their third full-length effort, King of Everything, in 2016. The group toured heavily in support of the LP, hitting the European festival circuit and making their presence known overseas as well. In early 2019, the band returned with the Micro EP, again on Napalm. By the end of the year, its natural counterpoint, Macro, arrived.

An epic Anglo-Swiss symphonic power metal unit founded by pirate metal pioneer Christopher Bowes from Scotland's Alestorm, Gloryhammer emerged in 2010 with a style and sound that looks to folk tales, sorcery, and science fiction for inspiration.

Tales from the Kingdom of FifeGloryhammer formed in 2010 around the talents of Bowes, Swiss vocalist Thomas Winkler, guitarist Paul Templing, bass player James Cartwright, and drummer Ben Turk -- each member represents a character in the group's long-running narrative. The band inked a deal with Napalm Records shortly after coming together, and released its debut album, a sorcery-filled concept album concerning an alternate-history medieval Scotland called Tales from the Kingdom of Fife, in 2013. Two years later, Gloryhammer issued their second studio long-player, a sequel called Space 1992: Rise of the Chaos Wizards, which added sci-fi elements to the already fantastic tale. The story continued in 2019 with the arrival of the band's third full-length outing, Legends from Beyond the Galactic Terrorvortex.

Lundberg), and Luca Turilli's Rhapsody (drummer Alex Landenburg). Emerging in 2017, the band's hard-driving sound pairs the complexity of progressive metal with the majesty of melodic hard rock.
