Born in Nigeria and growing up in England, singer/songwriter Jacob Banks crafts his songs around his rich baritone voice, drawing from blues, R&B, reggae, and elements of hip-hop for his multi-layered productions. Following a series of well-received EPs and song placements in games, film, and television, Banks released his first proper studio album with 2018's Village, released on Interscope Records.

The Weeknd is the alias of alternative R&B enigma-turned-pop star Abel Tesfaye, whose aching accounts of emotionally and physically toxic indulgences have translated to multi-platinum sales and Grammy recognition. Supported by Drake early on, the singer and songwriter arrived in 2011 with three mixtapes offering morose ballads that seemed to have no designs on mainstream appeal. Within only a few years, however, Tesfaye had scored a variety of Top Ten pop hits. These included a duet with Ariana Grande ("Love Me Harder"), a dramatic ballad from the soundtrack of Fifty Shades of Grey (the Grammy-winning "Earned It"), a retro-contemporary disco-funk collaboration with Max Martin ("I Can't Feel My Face"), and a sleek Daft Punk production ("Starboy"). Additionally, Tesfaye topped the Billboard 200 with his second and third proper full-lengths, Beauty Behind the Madness (2015) and Starboy (2016), which also made him a two-time winner of the Grammy for Best Urban Contemporary Album. At the tail-end of the decade, Tesfaye added to his stack of Top Ten hits with two previews of his fourth album, After Hours (2020).

Loco is the third studio album by the band Fun Lovin' Criminals. It was released on March 6, 2001.

Fun Lovin' Criminals are a band from New York City. Their musical style is eclectic, covering styles such as hip hop, rock, blues, jazz, R&B, punk, and funk. They are best known for their hit "Scooby Snacks", which features samples from films by Quentin Tarantino, and the song "Love Unlimited", which recalls Barry White's backing vocal group. Their songs often focus on life in New York City, as well as urban life in general. Their lyrics can be gritty or existentialist in nature, touching on topics such as organized crime and urban violence, but they are just as often humorous or satirical. The band gained a large following internationally, notably in north-west Europe, around the release of their first two albums in the late 1990s.

Transferring the reflective style of rappers like Drake to the genre of gangsta rap, Louisiana-based MC Kevin Gates spent five-plus years on the mixtape circuit before climbing into the Top 40 of the Billboard 200 with his 2013 release Stranger Than Fiction. The gruff but lyrical MC narrowly missed the top of the chart in 2016 with his proper debut album, the platinum-certified Islah, and routinely hit the upper reaches of the Billboard 200 with 2016-2018 volumes in his mixtape series Murder for Hire, By Any Means, and Luca Brasi.

In 2019 several singles including "Therapy Sh*t 4," "Big Gangsta," and "Yukatan" led up to the May release of the Only the Generals Gon Understand EP. The release made the Billboard charts and sated fans until second studio album I'm Him arrived in September. I'm Him featured Gates with no guest artists and debuted at number four on the Billboard Top 200.

Aftermath is a studio album by the English rock band the Rolling Stones. The group recorded the album at RCA Studios in California in December 1965 and March 1966, during breaks between their international tours. It was released in the United Kingdom on 15 April 1966 by Decca Records and in the United States on 2 July by London Records. It is the band's fourth British and sixth American studio album, and follows closely after a series of international hit singles that helped bring the Stones newfound wealth and popularity that rivalled their contemporaries, the Beatles.

As they grew from quirky mid-2000s blog darlings into a rock band with a polished yet passionate sound, Cold War Kids' music spanned influences as diverse as Tom Waits, Billie Holiday, Nick Cave, and U2. The group's shifting lineup reflected their evolving sound over the years, from the stomping blues-punk of 2006's debut Robbers & Cowards to the slick alt-rock of 2011's Mine Is Yours. Cold War Kids grew more anthemic, and more popular, as time went on: 2017's L.A. Divine, which celebrated the mythos of their adopted hometown as well as the power of sweeping rock, made the Top 10 of Billboard's Top Rock Albums chart.

A live album, Audience: Live September 24, 2017, Athens, GA arrived the following year. This Will All Blow Over in Time, a collection of the band's Downtown Records output, appeared in 2018. The following year, Cold War Kids kicked off a trilogy of mini-albums with that October's New Age Norms, Vol. 1, which folded hints of pop, funk, and disco, as well as more topical songwriting, into their sound.

The setting for cello of César Franck's Violin Sonata in A major was the only alternative version sanctioned by Franck. It was created by the cellist Jules Delsart.

César-Auguste-Jean-Guillaume-Hubert Franck (10 December 1822 – 8 November 1890) was a composer, pianist, organist, and music teacher who worked in Paris during his adult life.

He was born at Liège, in what is now Belgium (though at the time of his birth it was part of the United Kingdom of the Netherlands). He gave his first concerts there in 1834 and studied privately in Paris from 1835, where his teachers included Anton Reicha. After a brief return to Belgium, and a disastrous reception for an early oratorio Ruth, he moved to Paris, where he married and embarked on a career as teacher and organist. He gained a reputation as a formidable musical improviser, and travelled widely within France to demonstrate new instruments built by Aristide Cavaillé-Coll.

In 1858, he became organist at the Basilica of St. Clotilde, Paris, a position he retained for the rest of his life. He became professor at the Paris Conservatoire in 1872; he took French nationality, a requirement of the appointment. His pupils included Vincent d'Indy, Ernest Chausson, Louis Vierne, Charles Tournemire, Guillaume Lekeu and Henri Duparc. After acquiring the professorship, Franck wrote several pieces that have entered the standard classical repertoire, including symphonic, chamber, and keyboard works.

Dieser Song stammt vom Bonus-Cover-Album "Die Sieben Todsünden", das als Teil der Deluxe Version des kommenden Albums "Das Elfte Gebot" am 26. Juni erscheint.

Formed in 2004 by former Merlons member Peter Henrici and Fiddler's Green violinist Tobias Heindl, German parody group Feuerschwanz were first rounded out by members of Henrici's former group before becoming a full-fledged outfit. Giving the band a historical background dating from 1223, Henrici and company played alongside Fiddler's Green at various medieval shows and soon gained a following for their humorous take on medieval rock. Their first album, Prima Nocte, appeared in 2005 and was followed by sophomore release Met & Miezen in 2007. With their live show becoming quite a spectacle -- with the addition of more bandmembers and a group of dancers and entertainers known as the "chicks" gracing the stage -- Feuerschwanz went on to release their third album, 2009's Metvernichter. Continued touring and a successful show at the 2011 Wacken music festival saw their fan base grow even larger and their fourth album, 2011's Wunsch Ist Wunsch, finally saw the band enter the German album charts, albeit at number 95. In 2012 the group released their fifth album Walhalligalli, which entered the German album charts at number 37.

Daughter Of Swords - "Live @ NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert" [Rock & Alternative, Live In Concert]

Live @ NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert

"Live @ NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert" music video by Daughter Of Swords
Added: 06-05-2020
Genre : Rock & Alternative, Live In Concert
Description : Daughter Of Swords: NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert

This performance was recorded on Feb. 13, 2020.

April 29, 2020 | Stephen Thompson -- Back in the Before-Times, when Tiny Desk concerts were held in front of gatherings of people — "crowds," we called them — we'd remind everyone in attendance to silence their cell phones. When the music was loud enough, it didn't matter if people followed instructions. But when Daughter of Swords came to grace us with a few hushed folk songs, the music was so eerily still, you could have heard a phone vibrate.

Though she's joined by a full band here, Daughter of Swords was originally envisioned as a solo project for Alexandra Sauser-Monnig, who returned for a second Tiny Desk concert after making a stop as one-third of the wonderful Mountain Man. Sauser-Monnig's counterparts in that group have already been by as individuals — Molly Sarlé in a solo set, Amelia Randall Meath as the singer of Sylvan Esso — so it was only natural that Sauser-Monnig would return, too, this time to showcase songs from 2019's gorgeous Dawnbreaker (as well as a new track called "Prairie Winter Wasteland").

Between the rustic sweetness of the arrangements and Sauser-Monnig's between-song banter — which included, among other things, a low-key discussion of breakfast foods — Daughter of Swords' set doubles as a fine way to trick your doctor into not prescribing blood-pressure medication. In anxious times, it'll settle you right down.

Indie folk singer/songwriter Alexandra Sauser-Monnig writes introspective, laid-back songs that are tinged with sadness and hope in equal measure.

Formerly of folk trio Mountain Man, Sauser-Monnig stepped back from music for almost a decade after the group went on hiatus. Eventually, the need to write music returned, prompting Sauser-Monnig to write a solo record. She began working on her debut album in 2017, though she stalled on completing it due to Mountain Man re-forming the following year. Her debut album, Dawnbreaker, was finally released in 2019 and explored the theme of an impending breakup.

A Switzerland-based hard rock act formed in 1997, Shakra went through a number of lineup changes (including a vocalist change when the bands' momentum was just gaining attention) but managed to persevere and keep going for over two decades. Their first album, 1998's Shakra, and its follow-up, 1999's Moving Force, were strong enough to earn them support slots touring with bands like Great White and Uriah Heep. Real progress was being made with their third album, Power Ride (2001), but unfortunately a health situation forced the departure of vocalist Pete Wiedmer. Mark Fox stepped in to fill the frontman role, and the band recorded and released Rising in 2003. The band was a hit on German and Swiss charts, and toured extensively in support of their work. After many live shows and tours with Hammerfall and Stratovarius, Shakra released Infected in 2007, followed by Everest in 2009, and Back on Track in 2011. Powerplay arrived in 2013, with High Noon and Snakes & Ladders dropping in 2016 and 2017, respectively.

An eclectic singer/songwriter with a haunting voice who balances emotional richness, awareness, and wry demeanor in his lyrics, Cass McCombs negotiates styles including Americana, Baroque pop, psychedelia, and sprawling jam band folk-rock, among others, in his music. He made his label debut in 2002 with the EP Not the Way. A series of unpredictable records followed, including 2008's Dropping the Writ -- his Domino Records debut -- and his first album for Anti-, 2016's Mangy Love. His eighth studio LP overall, the latter appeared on both the Billboard rock and Americana/folk charts.

He followed it with Tip of the Sphere in 2019. With a backing band that included keyboardist Frank LoCrasto, bassist Dan Horne, drummer Otto Hauser, and several guests, it was engineered by Sam Owens, also known as Sam Evian.
