Description : Bankroll Freddie - “Quarantine Flow” (Official Music Video)

New music from Bankroll Freddie. Big Bank mixtape on the way!

Bankroll Freddie delivers stark, determined rhymes about possessing wealth, jewelry, and fashionable clothes, while being mindful of his small-town origins. The Arkansas-based rapper broke through on a national level with his 2019 single "Drip Like Dis."

Born in Helena, Arkansas, Freddie Gladney released a freestyle titled "Lil Baby" in 2017. The track caught the attention of Quality Control CEO Pierre Thomas, who reposted another one of his freestyles and invited him to Los Angeles. After Bankroll Freddie released his 2019 mixtape Saved by the Bales, Quality Control released a remix of his track "Drip Like Dis," featuring Young Dolph and Lil Baby. After the single became a hit, he released "Lil Mama" (featuring Renni Rucci).

Actress and singer Keke Palmer is a multi-talented performer who first came to fame as a child actor starring in the acclaimed 2006 film Akeelah and the Bee. Only 13 at the time, Palmer quickly built upon her success, signing a recording contract and issuing her 2007 debut album, the pop- and R&B-steeped So Uncool. She has continued to broaden her career, acting in films and TV shows, including the Fox series Scream Queens, and authoring the inspirational nonfiction book I Don't Belong to You: Quiet the Noise and Find Your Voice.

While continuing to earn acting gigs, including voice work for the animated Winx Club franchise and a role on the 2015 Fox TV series Scream Queens, she headed back to the recording studio. Featuring collaborators including producer Sean Garrett and rapper Dreezy, the EP Lauren -- her given name -- was released by Island Records in 2016. It returned her to the R&B and Heatseekers album charts. In January 2017, Palmer released a book of inspirational nonfiction titled I Don't Belong to You: Quiet the Noise and Find Your Voice. The following year, she returned to music with the stand-alone single "Better to Have Loved." A second single, "Twerk N Flirt," arrived in August 2019.

This EP is as much theirs as it is mine. We built this together. They sat with me as I sobbed and tried to work out my emotions. They were patient when I had to take breaks at the mic because I couldn’t breathe. They were there to help me make my pain into art. Every compliment and accomplishment that comes my way in music is shared with them.

After building a following on social media for her comedy sketches and "emo diary" entries, Gabbie Hanna became a published writer and recording artist. Combining whimsical pop production, recorded conversations, and a typically intimate vocal delivery, her first EP, 2WAYMIRROR, arrived in 2019.

Description : The Antlers: NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert From The Archives

We've been filming Tiny Desk concerts for more than 10 years. While revisiting our archives, we discovered that some of our earliest concerts never made it to YouTube!

Robin Hilton | March 15, 2010

Sometimes the good guys win. Back in January 2009, hardly anyone had heard of the rock band The Antlers. The trio, featuring Peter Silberman, Michael Lerner and Darby Cicci, had recently finished a homemade CD called Hospice. The three were playing a smattering of shows in noisy clubs and were lucky if 20 people showed up. Some of the more curious listeners would leave with one of those hand-pressed albums, not realizing what a rare collectible it would become.

In the months since, something happened. Fans fell in love with the three unassuming guys from Brooklyn, their epic and heartfelt shows and, most of all, Hospice. Frontman Silberman's elegy to a dying friend is full of tremendous grief and longing. But instead of evoking despair, the poetry, soaring orchestrations and Silberman's delicate falsetto left listeners in awe at how fragile and beautifully mysterious life can be. By August, Frenchkiss Records had given Hospice a proper release, while the band booked sold-out shows at the Bowery Ballroom in New York and other venues generally reserved for more established acts.

When a group of us from the NPR Music team caught a show by The Antlers in Washington, D.C., a year ago, the band was still finding its way. This past fall, when The Antlers played a sold-out concert at the CMJ Festival in New York, the group stunned listeners with its extraordinary range, moving seamlessly from quiet moments of grace to thundering swells of chaotic noise.

That said, for this Tiny Desk Concert performance, Silberman, Lerner and Cicci pulled way back and gave an amazing, stripped-down performance of three songs from Hospice: "Bear," "Atrophy" and the haunting "Sylvia." We couldn't have been happier to have them, or happier for the success the band has had this past year.

Houston rapper Trill Sammy started out when he was just in high school, part of the generation of millennial rappers who utilized social media to spread their music. After posting his short freestyle with Born Stunna, "Netflix and Chill," in 2015, he went viral with local fans and continued to build a following online. With a sound similar to Lil Uzi Vert and Migos, the young Texan adopted an Atlanta trap sound aimed at putting the spotlight on his hometown. Sammy's first big break came in 2015 on the joint track "Just Watch" with fellow Houston rapper Dice Soho, head of the local Icey Gang crew. Sammy released "Check Out" in 2016, a video game-sampling dose of laid-back trap with Auto-Tune and a Desiigner-esque beat. His debut EP, Red Album, also arrived that year, featuring Soulja Boy on the track "Trappin'," as well as appearances by Slim Thug and Kirko Bangz. He quickly followed with the Trappin' EP that summer, which included the tracks "Uber Everywhere" and "Martin." In 2018, he issued singles "Do Not Disturb" and "Feel Better" with Rae Sremmurd's Slim Jxmmi.

For many years, the Charlatans were perceived as the also-rans of Madchester, the group that didn't capture the Zeitgeist like the Stone Roses, or that failed to match the mad genre-bending of Happy Mondays. Of course, they were more traditional than either of their peers. Working from a Stonesy foundation, the Charlatans added dance-oriented rhythms and layers of swirling organs straight out of '60s psychedelia. At first, the group had great promise, and their initial singles -- including "The Only One I Know" -- were hits, but as Madchester and "baggy" faded away, the group began to look like a relic. It was commonly assumed that their third album, 1994's Up to Our Hips, was the end of the line. However, the Charlatans made a remarkable comeback in 1995 with their eponymous fourth album, which found them embracing not only the flourishing Brit-pop movement, but also underground dance and techno, as well as their mainstay of classic rock. The Charlatans debuted at number one, and the guys were hailed as survivors. Unfortunately, few knew how literal that term was -- as the band was recording its follow-up album in 1996, organist Rob Collins, who had defined the band's sound, died in a car crash. The Charlatans decided to continue as a quartet, and their subsequent album, Tellin' Stories, debuted at number one upon its 1997 release, suggesting that they had become one of the great British journeyman bands of the '90s.
