"It's Called a Heart" is Depeche Mode's fourteenth UK single recorded at Genetic Studios (released on 16 September 1985). It was included as one of two new songs on the compilation The Singles 81-85 the same year, along with "Shake the Disease". It reached number 18 in the UK singles chart. The American version of The Singles 81-85, Catching Up with Depeche Mode, also includes the B-side, "Fly on the Windscreen", which reappeared in a slightly different mix on the band's 1986 album Black Celebration.

There is no limited edition ("L12 Bong") version of this single in the way that most other Depeche Mode singles have been. Instead there was a "D12 Bong", a double 12", that featured both the standard 12" and the remix 12".

Both Martin Gore and Alan Wilder have said this song is one of their least favorite tracks the band had ever recorded.

Noch bevor Rory Gallagher die 1. Rocknacht in der Grugahalle in Essen 1977 eröffnete, war er bereits mit seiner Band im legendären WDR-Studio L aufgetreten. Die Aufzeichnung fand am 6. Oktober 1976 statt.

Bei dem Studiokonzert vor Publikum spielte Gallagher (Gesang/Gitarre) gemeinsam mit Gerry McAvoy am Bass, Rod De'Ath an den Drums und Lou Martin am Keyboard. Der Höhepunkt seiner damaligen Show war der akustische (Solo-)Teil, mit dem Gallagher einstieg und den er eigens für den Rockpalast verlängert hatte.

Nach dem akustischen Teil mit Coversongs aus Country, Blues und Folk folgte der elektrische Band-Teil. Im Verlauf des Konzerts brachte Gallagher das Kölner Publikum mit Akustikgitarre, Dobro, Slide-Gitarre, Mandoline und seiner berühmten, abgewetzten Fender Stratocaster zum Kochen.

Die Initialzündung für den Rockpalast war die erste Rocknacht mit Rory Gallagher, Little Feat und Roger McGuinn's Thunderbyrd, die vom 23. auf den 24. Juli 1977 live via Eurovision übertragen wurde.

Die 1. Rocknacht bedeutete nicht nur für den Rockpalast den Durchbruch. Auch der irische Rockgitarrist Rory Gallagher bekam durch seinen live im TV übertragenen Auftritt einen wohl verdienten Karriereschub. Während des Konzerts, das in der Essener Grugahalle stattfand, zeigte Rory Gallagher, was er am besten konnte: Straight nach vorne gespielten, vom Blues beeinflussten Rock'n'Roll. Von Anfang an brachte der ungemein sympathische Ire die Halle zum Kochen – nicht nur mit seinem virtuosen Gitarrenspiel, sondern auch mit seinem ungebremsten Enthusiasmus und seiner sichtbaren Spielfreude.

Später schrieb der damalige Rockpalast-Redakteur Peter Rüchel über den Auftritt: "Rory Gallagher machte die Show in jeder Beziehung auf. Er sagte uns später, das sei sein bis dahin bester Auftritt gewesen." Gemeinsam mit Gerry McAvoy am Bass, Rod De'Ath am Schlagzeug und Lou Martin an den Keys spielte Gallagher ein kraftvolles Set mit Hits wie "Moonchild", "Out On The Western Plain" oder "Calling Card".

Hailing from Northwest London, Ian Greenidge (aka Donae'o) grew up listening to rap, Afrobeat, and Caribbean music, and had a fondness for the likes of 2Pac, Notorious B.I.G., and D'Angelo instilled a desire to emulate his idols. Donae'o released his first single, Falling, in 2002, a mix of U.K. garage, R&B, and hip-hop; the single was followed by the release My Philosophy (Bounce). Over the next few years, Donae'o released a mix of EPs and singles including Colours, Change, and Devil in a Blue Dress. 2009 saw him appear alongside Lethal Bizzle on the track Go Hard, while also inking a deal with My-Ish Records. Donae'o's debut album, Party Hard, appeared that year along with the single Watching Her Move. Releases from Donae'o slowed over the next few years, yet he kept working, appearing on tracks by the likes of Shy FX, Mike Delinquent, and Foreign Beggars. 2011 saw the release of the free album Indigo Child as well as the singles Big Ben and Move to Da Gyal Dem. Donae'o's third album, The Forest of Zephron, appeared a couple of years later in 2013, and opted for a funkier house direction than his previous material. With a renewed vigor, more releases from Donae'o followed, with singles such as Mami No Like, What Is Love, and My Circle, along with a remix version featuring Wiley and Ghetts. Donae'o also continued with collaborations, appearing on the U.K. charting single Lock Doh by Giggs at the end of 2016.

The Killers are an American rock band formed in Las Vegas in 2001 by Brandon Flowers (lead vocals, keyboards, bass) and Dave Keuning (lead guitar, backing vocals). The official lineup of the band was completed when Mark Stoermer (bass, rhythm guitar, backing vocals) and Ronnie Vannucci Jr. (drums, percussion) joined in 2002. The band's name is derived from a logo on the bass drum of a fictitious band portrayed in the music video for the New Order song "Crystal".

The band has released five consecutive chart-topping studio albums: Hot Fuss (2004), Sam's Town (2006), Day & Age (2008), Battle Born (2012) and Wonderful Wonderful (2017). They have also released a B-sides and rarities compilation, Sawdust (2007); a live album, Live from the Royal Albert Hall (2009); a greatest-hits album, Direct Hits (2013); and a Christmas compilation, Don't Waste Your Wishes (2016).

The Killers are considered one of the biggest rock bands of the 21st century, and the most successful act to ever emerge from Nevada, selling more than 28 million albums. They have performed in over 50 countries and on six continents, headlining venues such as Madison Square Garden, Wembley Stadium and Glastonbury Festival (2007 and 2019).

With a sound as big as her name is punny, Alison Wonderland is a Sydney-based EDM producer and DJ who began her music career on the opposite side of the spectrum, as a classically trained cellist. Born Alexandra Sholler, she spent a few years DJ'ing before releasing her debut single, "Get Ready," in 2013; then in 2014 she signed with the EMI label and released the ironically titled Calm Down. The EP earned accolades from tastemakers like Annie Mac and Diplo, and it featured the hit single "I Want U." A year later she released her debut album, Run, which featured guest spots from Wayne Coyne of the Flaming Lips, Lido, and Slumberjack. The DJ celebrated the release with a series of launch parties at different strip bars dotted across Australia. Released in 2017, the single "Happy Place" revealed the first offering from Wonderland's follow-up album, Awake. An additional pair of 2018 singles, "Church" and "No," preceded the album's April release. The set was her second to top the U.S. dance chart and land in the Top 10 in her native Australia. In the beginning of 2019, she joined fellow electronic producer Dillon Francis for an American tour, and the pair released the joint single "Lost My Mind." She followed with the single "Peace."

Emerging from the dark corners of the Internet's underground rap scene, Long Island rapper Lil Peep connected with his fans through both his blend of dark rock and hip-hop styles and his lyrics, which vulnerably and transparently addressed issues of depression, addiction, and anxiety. A run of strong mixtapes and guest appearances generated media buzz around the rapper, his approach to life, and his music, which polarized both listeners and the press. Those who championed Lil Peep did so passionately, and his followers quickly grew into the millions. Peep would only live to see the release of one fully realized studio album, his brief 2017 debut, Come Over When You're Sober, Pt. 1. The eight-song album was released shortly before the artist's untimely death due to a drug overdose just after his 21st birthday. Fans mourned the loss, and Peep's estate began posthumously releasing music the rapper had finished before his death, beginning with several singles and eventually leading to the full-length album Come Over When You're Sober, Pt. 2 in the fall of 2018.

Various unreleased tracks leaked out over the course of 2019, and a feature-length documentary focused on the life of the departed rapper entitled "Everybody's Everything" was announced for release in November of that year. Preceding the release of the film, an unreleased three-song project GOTH ANGEL SINNER was released, and a longer soundtrack with a mix of previously issued and unreleased material was planned for release in conjunction with the film. The album, also titled Everybody's Everything was the second posthumous collection of Lil Peep music and contained all three tracks from GOTH ANGEL SINNER.

"La Tristesse Durera (Scream to a Sigh)" is a song by Welsh rock band Manic Street Preachers. It was released in 1993 by record label Columbia as the second single from their second studio album Gold Against the Soul.

It reached number 22 in UK Singles Chart.

The song's title is taken from the reported last words of Vincent van Gogh, "La tristesse durera toujours", quoted in a letter from his younger brother Theo to their sister Elisabeth, using her nickname Lies. The letter was translated by Robert Harrison, who states that the phrase means "The sadness will last forever".
