Freak Valley Festival 2019 - "Re-livestream (Donnerstag) (Rockpalast)" [Rock & Alternative, Live In Concert]

Re-livestream (Donnerstag) (Rockpalast)

"Re-livestream (Donnerstag) (Rockpalast)" music video by Freak Valley Festival 2019
Added: 11-06-2020
Genre : Rock & Alternative, Live In Concert
Description : Freak Valley Festival 2019 | Re-Livestream | Donnerstag

Die Running Order
17:30 Uhr: Spaceslug
18:20 Uhr: John Fairhust Band
19:08 Uhr: DeWolff
19:59 Uhr: Brant Bjork
20:56 Uhr: Electric Moon

Description : Rory Gallagher | Interview | 1976

Besetzung
Rory Gallagher - vocals, guitar
Gerry McAvoy - bass
Lou Martin - keyboards
Rod De'Ath - drums

Genre : Pop
Description : Stars On 45 - Stars On 45 Vol. 3 • TopPop

"Volume III" a.k.a. "Stars on 45 Volume 3" was a song issued in 1981 by the Dutch studio group Stars on 45, in the UK credited to 'Starsound'. It was the second single from the band's second full-length release Longplay Album - Volume II (UK title: Stars On 45 - The Album - Volume 2, US title: Stars on Longplay II).

The "Volume III" medley was the opening track on Longplay Album - Volume II and then had the title "Star Wars And Other Hits", in the UK it was named "Instrumental Medley" and in the US "Introductions"; the very same recording was consequently released under no less than five different titles throughout the world. The medley featured instrumental intros to hits from a wide variety of genres, from well known movie themes like "Star Wars" and "The Good, The Bad and the Ugly", 60's and 70's hits by The Stylistics, Boney M., Eric Clapton, The Village People and The Pointer Sisters to the overture from The Who's musical Tommy and the main theme from Jeff Wayne's musical version of "The War of the Worlds".
This single reached #10 in the Dutch Top 40 on 3 October 1981.

This Toppop promo was first broadcast on 29 September 1981.

Pete Yorn - "Quarantine Sessions (Live Performances)" [Rock & Alternative, Live In Concert]

Quarantine Sessions (Live Performances)

"Quarantine Sessions (Live Performances)" music video by Pete Yorn
Added: 11-06-2020
Genre : Rock & Alternative, Live In Concert
Description : New Jersey native Pete Yorn took a rather unique route to singer/songwriter acclaim, gaining his first big break by providing the score to a Farrelly Brothers film. Having graduated from Syracuse University several years prior, the 26-year-old pulled up stakes in 2000 and relocated to Los Angeles, California, where he began writing music for film and television. Prospects increased when Yorn was recruited to score Me, Myself, & Irene, a Farrelly Brothers movie starring Jim Carrey. One of his own pop/rock numbers, "Strange Condition," appeared on the film's soundtrack and was subsequently released as a single, where it fared well on the modern rock charts and increased public demand for Yorn's songwriting.

Yorn returned in 2019 with Caretakers, an album made with Jackson Phillips of Day Wave.

Louisiana rapper Boosie Badazz took his raw, uncut style from deep underground circles to mainstream success over the course of a long, winding career arc. After starting out rapping in the '90s as part of a collective called Concentration Camp, he was taken under the wing of Pimp C as a solo artist. Throughout the 2000s and beyond, Boosie's acclaim grew as he moved into the big leagues on major-label-funded albums like 2010's Incarcerated.

The prolific emcee continued in 2019 with multiple mixtapes. A streak of releases began in March of the year with Badazz 3.5, followed shortly afterward by Talk Dat Shit, Goat Talk and the Zaytoven collaboration Bad Azz Zay. In February of 2020, another collaborative mixtape appeared, this time with Dallas rapper MO3. The project, appropriately titled Badazz MO3, quickly found its way into the Billboard charts.

Aidan Baker / Simon Goff / Thor Harris - "The Bit" [Experimental]

The Bit

"The Bit" music video by Aidan Baker / Simon Goff / Thor Harris
Added: 11-06-2020
Genre : Experimental
Description : Aidan Baker / Simon Goff / Thor Harris 'The Bit' Music Video

THE BIT is the second recorded collaboration between Aidan Baker (Nadja / Hypnodrone Ensemble), Simon Goff (Jóhann Johannsson / Hildur Gudnadottir) and Thor Harris (Swans, Shearwater, Thor & Friends) and is set for release on August 28th.

LISTEN // PRE-ORDER - https://bit.ly/2XSvWvo

Following on from 2017’s 'Noplace' album, 'The Bit' treads a similar path in terms of the recording process as the trio spent a day improvising at Voxton Studios in Berlin whilst on a European tour. The result was then edited and moulded into six hypnotic tracks that ebb and flow with beauty and ease.

'The Bit' finds the trio painting with a lighter touch than on its predecessor. Thor Harris’ motorik beats still underpin the music but the atmospherics take a more prominent role and there is a pure and cohesive path to be found throughout the record. Much like on Noplace, Baker’s guitar and Goff’s violin weave together beautifully, forming a deep bed of melody, ambience and reverb.

Given the trios credentials it’s not surprising they have created another immersive and stunning record.

The bright keyboard timbres and idiosyncratic beats of Cosmo's Midnight are the creation of twin siblings Cosmo and Patrick Liney. Working with collaborators from the pop, indie electronica, rap, and EDM realms, they made their major-label debut with the 2015 EP Moments, featuring the single "Walk with Me."

Hailing from Sydney, Australia, the Liney brothers got their first management deal by winning a Future Classic remix contest with their whimsical take on Flume's "Sleepless" in 2012. Led by their debut single, "Phantasm," with guest vocalist Nicole Millar, the EP Surge was released on Yes Please in mid-2013. Their stand-alone single "Moshi," featuring Polographia, followed that December before the duo signed with Sony Music Australia. Their second EP, 2015's Moments, included collaborations with, among others, Wave Racer, Ku?ka, and Lido. Cosmo's Midnight embarked on their first North American tour in early 2017, selling out shows at The Roxy in Los Angeles and Rough Trade in New York. They followed that with a tour of Australia and stops throughout Asia.

What Comes NextCosmo's Midnight released their first album via Sony in 2018. Featuring guests such as pop singer Tove Styrke, rappers Buddy and Jay Prince, and fellow Australian electronic duo Panama, What Comes Next cracked the Top 40 in Australia. Without rest, they returned in 2019 with the singles "C.U.D.I (Can U Dig It)" and "Have It All."

Born in Hokes Bluff, Alabama, country singer and songwriter Drake White's mix of country, blues, funk, rock & roll, and reggae, and his energetic, foot-stomping live shows eventually led him to Nashville and beyond. Growing up, he sang in the choir at his local church, and after getting a guitar at the age of 14 from a neighbor down the road who played bluegrass, he began writing and playing songs, continuing to do so while attending Gadsen State Community College and then Auburn University, earning a degree in building science even as he played in the local venues at night. After graduation, White took a job with a general contractor in Nashville, working by day and playing the song rounds at night, developing, with his band the Big Fire, a crackling and energetic stage presence that often found him freestyling lyrics in the middle of songs. He caught the eye of producer Jeremy Stover and was soon signed to MCA Nashville, turned his attention full-time to music, and released a debut single, "Simple Life," on the label early in 2013. A year later, White signed with Big Machine affiliate Dot Records, resulting in a pair of 2015 singles, "It Feels Good" and "Livin' the Dream." In August 2016, Dot released White's debut album, Spark, which debuted at number four on the Top Country Albums chart. Two years later, White released the Pieces EP.

Playing a raw, powerful blend of blues and hip-hop, singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist ZZ Ward was born Zsuzsanna Eva Ward in Abington, Pennsylvania on June 2, 1986. Ward spent her childhood in the small town of Roseburg, Oregon, splitting her listening time between her father's blues collection and her brother's hip-hop records, a blend that would inform her later sound and style. She was singing in her father's blues band by the time she was 12, and by 16 she was performing with R&B and hip-hop acts in Eugene. Moving to L.A. and hoping to break into the West Coast music business, Ward's unique blend of blues, rock, hip-hop, R&B, and neo-soul, as well as her multi-instrumental skills (she's proficient on guitar, piano, and harmonica), brought her a recording deal with Boardwalk Entertainment Group and Hollywood Records, and she began work on a debut album. A free mixtape, Eleven Roses, with Ward's interpretations of contemporaneous tracks by other artists, appeared in February of 2012, with an EP, Criminal, following in May. Til the Casket Drops, the completed album, showed up in October that same year. A track from the album, "Put the Gun Down," rose to number 39 on the Alternative Rock charts, while two other tunes, "Last Love Song" and "365 Days," cracked the Top 30 of the Adult Alternative charts. In 2015, Ward released the four-song EP Love and War, which was intended as a teaser for a 2016 album called This Means War, but the full-length never appeared. Instead, she worked throughout 2016 on the album that became 2017's The Storm. Preceded by the singles "The Deep" (featuring Joey Purp) and "Help Me, Mama," The Storm arrived in June 2017.

Description : Press Club - Labrador (WAAX Cover)

About a month ago, deep in the heart of the plague, even deeper in the heart of isolation we asked y’all what songs you would like to hear us cover. More than 1,000 of you told us what ya thought! That was absolutely mental!! We had no idea so many folk would jump on board, so thank you very much to all y’all.

So here it is. The song that came first. And no shit.. by only one vote! LABRADOR by WAAX.

We set up in our living rooms, studios and kitchens and recorded ourselves playing apart from one another. It was actually kinda hard to not be physically in the same space. But we got it done. We’ll share one cover tune every Thursday for the next three weeks.

Take care, and death to the plague!

Inspired by the work of acts such as the Who and Hüsker Dü, Press Club are a four-piece alt-rock/punk outfit from Melbourne, Australia. Formed in 2016, the band quickly became known on the local scene for their loud and brash songs such as "Suburbia" and "Headwreck." Made up of vocalist Natalie Foster, guitarist Greg Rietwyk, bass guitarist Rufio MacRae, and drummer Frank Lees, the group came together out of the ashes of former bands. They spent 2017 writing material and performing throughout Melbourne, earning an ever-burgeoning and committed fan base. In 2018, their single "Suburbia" caught the attention of several Australian radio stations and the band were subsequently picked to perform at the NYE on the Hill and Falls festivals. Mid-2018 saw the group record and produce their debut album in their native Brunswick. The quartet opted to record entirely to tape and relied purely on analog equipment to achieve the more raw and incendiary elements of their sound. They performed a number of shows around Australia and the U.K. before delivering their LP Late Teens, in January 2019. They toured in promotion of the record with the Smith Street Band throughout the early part of the year and quickly returned in August 2019 with a second full-length, Wasted Energy, which featured the track "Thinking About You."

Like the music of her mother and father -- Neneh Cherry and Cameron McVey -- Mabel McVey's first releases weren't easy to classify but were rooted in R&B with a level of maturity beyond her years. She issued her debut efforts, Bedroom and Ivy to Roses, in 2017. While "Finders Keepers" was her first U.K. hit, she topped it with 2019's "Don't Call Me Up," which featured on an expanded reissue of Ivy.

Born in Spain and raised in London and Sweden, McVey showed a deep interest in music during early childhood and studied music production. Her parents didn't know that she was writing music until she was 16. Before she turned 20, she released her debut single, the independently released "Know Me Better" -- a moody, yearning piece of breakbeat soul. Signed to Polydor, she had her second single, "My Boy My Town," out by the end of 2015. Shortly after that, she was nominated in the BBC Sound of 2016 poll (won by Jack Garratt). In 2017, she delivered the mixtape Ivy to Roses, which included the platinum-certified single "Finders Keepers," featuring Kojo Funds. After opening for Harry Styles on his 2018 European tour, she joined Jax Jones and Rich the Kid on hit single "Ring Ring" before issuing her single "One Shot." Early the following year, her single "Don't Call Me Up" became an international hit, rising into the Top 10 across Europe and attracting viral attention in the U.S. The track was featured on the reissue of Ivy to Roses, which added six tracks to the original.

An eclectic indie rock act from New York, Dirty Projectors are a band of stylistic contradictions. Creating music that is at once challenging and accessible, Dirty Projectors' recordings are full of engaging melodies, thoughtful arrangements, and polished harmonies that are punctuated with angular stylistic shifts, wiry guitar work, and lyrics whose themes sometimes run counter to the sounds they accompany. The brainchild of vocalist, songwriter, and instrumentalist Dave Longstreth, Dirty Projectors first caught the attention of indie rock followers with 2004's Slaves' Graves and Ballads and 2005's The Getty Address, while 2007's Rise Above found them reworking songs from Black Flag's back catalog in truly unexpected ways. While Rise Above earned the group plenty of press, it was 2009's Bitte Orca that was their true critical and popular breakthrough, a commercial success that also found Longstreth and his collaborators writing and performing at the peak of their powers.

In December 2019, Dirty Projectors released Sing the Melody, a live-in-the-studio set that found the touring version of the band performing highlights from the Lamp Lit Prose tour. Along with six songs from the Dirty Projectors' catalog, the album featured "Knotty Pine," which Dave Longstreth wrote in collaboration with David Byrne, and "FourFiveSeconds," the Rihanna/Kanye West/Paul McCartney hit that Longstreth helped write and produce.
