Serenade for wind instruments, cello and double bass in D minor  Op. 44, B. 77, is a chamber composition by the Czech composer Antonín Dvorak. The work is dedicated to the music critic and composer Louis Ehlert who praised the Slavonic Dances highly in the German press.

It was created in 1878, shortly after the première of the opera The Cunning Peasant, one of fifteen compositions he submitted for the Austrian State Stipendium award. The work was first heard on 17 November 1878 at a concert exclusively dedicated to Dvorak's works, with the orchestra of the Prague Provisional Theatre (Czech: Prozatímní). The composition was performed under the composer's baton.

The Serenade evokes the old-world atmosphere of musical performances on the castles of the Rococo period, where the worlds of the aristocracy and the common folk merged. It is composed in a 'Slavonic' style (shortly before the Slavonic Dances), though not quoting folksong directly; and the middle part of the second movement contains rhythms reminiscent of the furiant dance.

The Serenade is written for two oboes, two clarinets, two bassoons and for three horns. The composer later added parts for cello and double bass to enhance the force of the bass line. The double bassoon part was attached ad lib, since in Dvorak's time it was not easy to obtain this unusual instrument.

Vocals and Bass - Jonathan Grimes
Vocals - Michael Skaggs
Guitar - CJ Cochran
Drums - Austin McFerrin

-

Based out of Tulsa, Oklahoma, screamo ensemble Outline in Color was formed in 2010 from the remains of a handful of like-minded local acts. Specializing in a blistering blend of breakdown-laden electro-metalcore and soaring and melodic post-hardcore, the hard-hitting sextet, which features the talents of guitarists Forrest Mankins and See Jay Cochran, bass player Michael Skaggs, drummer Austin McFerrin, and vocalists K.C. Simonsen (clean) and Trevor Tatro (screams), issued an eponymous EP in 2010, followed in 2012 by a Kickstarter-funded long-player, Jury of Wolves. The Standby Records-issued Masks followed in 2014. Outline in Color's third LP, 2016's Struggle, found them building in intensity while dialing in on their lyricism.

Who Loves You is an album by The Four Seasons. It was released in 1975 on Warner/Curb Records.

The record introduced the new Four Seasons lineup: John Paiva (guitar), Don Ciccone (bass), Lee Shapiro (keyboards) and Gerry Polci (drums). Polci and Ciccone shared lead vocals with Frankie Valli, backed by producer Bob Gaudio and former Seasons bassist Joe Long.

The title song established the band as stars of the 1970s (peaking at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart). "December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night)", released in December 1975, spent six months on the charts and became the group's all-time best-selling single.

"Silver Star", the last single, also hit the Top 40, reaching #38 on the Hot 100 in 1976. All three singles from the album were successes in the UK, each placing in the top six positions of the UK Singles Chart.

Australian post-hardcore band Hands Like Houses debuted in the late 2000s, joining a crop of stylish but heavy bands that valued singalong melody as much as aggression. Following the 2012 debut Ground Dweller, which charted higher in the U.S. than their native Australia, the band began a steady rise that reached new heights with 2016's Dissonants.

Formed in 2008 by members from disbanded groups Eternal Debut and So Long Safety, Hands Like Houses comprised singer Trenton Woodley, keyboardist Jamal Sebet, drummer Matt Parkitney, guitarists Alexander Pearson and Matt Cooper, and bassist Joel Tyrrell. The band released a few singles in 2011 before the arrival of its 2012 debut full-length, Ground Dweller (Rise). The album charted on the Billboard Top 200, as did its 2013 follow-up, Unimagine.

In 2014, they released the remix EP Reimagine. A couple months later, Sebet parted ways with the group. In April 2015, the band began work with producer James Paul Wisner (Underøath, Paramore) on its third LP. Dissonants was released in February 2016 and shot into the Top Three of the U.S. hard rock chart, peaking in the Australian Top Ten. An international tour followed, which kept the band on the road with acts A Day to Remember, the Amity Affliction, Northlane, and Motionless in White. In 2017, the band signed a deal with Hopeless Records. Their first album for the label, the pop-leaning Anon. arrived in 2018 and featured the singles "Overthinking" and "Monster."

During the heyday of bro country in the 2010s, Jon Pardi carried the torch for hardcore country. Pardi has never attempted to disguise his debt to traditional country, but he never attempted to be an Americana singer, either. He was firmly within the mainstream of country music and clever enough to offer sly updates to classic sounds, which is why his 2015 album, California Sunrise, turned him into a star on the strength of its number one Country Airplay singles, "Head Over Boots" and "Dirt on My Boots."

Pardi released his third album, Heartache Medication, in September 2019.

Los Angeles-based producer gnash combines the emotional vulnerability of Bright Eyes with the sounds of laptop alt-R&B similar to the Weeknd's early releases. His international hit collaboration with Olivia O'Brien "i hate u, i love u" went multi-platinum across the globe in 2016, rising into the Top 10 in the U.S., Europe, and Australasia.

In 2018, gnash returned with the singles "The Broken Hearts Club," "Nobody's Home," and "t-shirt," which would all land on his official debut full-length, We (Atlantic), which was issued in early 2019.

Description : Beethoven: Sonate voor piano nr. 8, op. 13, 'Pathétique', deel 3 - Ramon van Engelenhoven - Live HD

-

Pianist Ramon van Engelenhoven performs his favourite piano sonata by composer Ludwig van Beethoven: the third movement of the 'Piano Sonata No. 8, Op. 13, Pathétique'.

Beethoven: pure and uncut. AVROTROS Klassiek asked five young and talented pianists to pick their favourite Beethoven music and play it in front of our camera. In an empty hall in the Dutch city Utrecht they performed their most treasured Beethoven piece. Without editing, played in one piece.

Recording: May 2020 in Utrecht, The Netherlands.

-

Ludwig van Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 8 in C minor, Op. 13, commonly known as Sonata Pathétique, was written in 1798 when the composer was 27 years old, and was published in 1799. It has remained one of his most celebrated compositions. Beethoven dedicated the work to his friend Prince Karl von Lichnowsky. Although commonly thought to be one of the few works to be named by the composer himself, it was actually named Grande sonate pathétique (to Beethoven's liking) by the publisher, who was impressed by the sonata's tragic sonorities.

Prominent musicologists debate whether or not the Pathétique may have been inspired by Mozart's piano sonata K. 457, since both compositions are in C minor and have three very similar movements. The second movement, "Adagio cantabile", especially, makes use of a theme remarkably similar to one in the spacious second movement of Mozart's sonata. Close similarities have also been noted with Bach's Partita no. 2 in C minor. Both works open with a declamatory fanfare marked Grave, sharing a distinct combination of dotted rhythms, melodic contour, and texture. Furthermore, the first four notes of the Partita's Andante (G-C-D-Eb) are found in the Pathétique as the first notes of important themes - first in the hand-crossing second subject of its first movement (initially transposed), then in the main theme of the Rondo. It is known that Beethoven was familiar with the works of Bach, studying The Well-Tempered Clavier as a youth and returning to his predecessor's compositional styles later in life.

Johann Baptist Georg Neruda (c.?1708 – c.?1780) was a classical Czech composer.

Relative to other composers of the Classical music era Neruda is little known, and his dates of birth and death (taken from the Grove Dictionary) are only approximations. He was born in Bohemia, now part of the Czech Republic, to a well-respected musical family. After spending his earlier years gaining a good reputation as a violinist and conductor in Prague and Germany, Neruda became Konzertmeister of the Dresden court orchestra.

His compositional output includes eighteen symphonies, fourteen instrumental concertos (including a trumpet and bassoon concerto), sonatas, sacred works and an opera Les Troqueurs.

According to Nimbus Records Ltd. (1994), one of the composer's more significant works is the Concerto in E-flat for Trumpet and Strings. Originally written for the "corno da caccia" or "natural horn" using only the high register, it is now rarely performed on anything other than an E-flat or B-flat trumpet. Incidentally, the Corno da Caccia for which Neruda wrote is not to be confused with the 4-valved hunting horn which has recently been given the same name. The manuscript for this piece is in the National Library in Prague, along with several other unusual works for brass instruments.
