Unleash The Archers - "Abyss" [Metal & X-Core]

Abyss

"Abyss" music video by Unleash The Archers

Genre : Metal & X-Core
Description : UNLEASH THE ARCHERS - Abyss (Official Video) | Napalm Records

Pre-order "Abyss" & listen to the title track here: https://ift.tt/2ANlJrs

out August 21st

Frontwoman Brittney Slayes says about "Abyss":
"This track set the tone for the whole record; conceptually, lyrically, musically, it all started here. Andy came up with the opening riff back when we were writing Apex, but I knew right away it didn't belong on that record. When we finally started writing Abyss in 2019, this was the first song we wrote and it was the first song I listened to when the record was done. It symbolizes five years of hard work for us, and I think it does a great job of putting the listener in the right place emotionally to start the record. It hints at what the rest of the album is all about, but also doesn't give it all away, not by a long shot!"

A Canadian heavy metal outfit based out of Vancouver, British Columbia, Unleash the Archers deliver a lethal fusion of melodically charged death, thrash, and power metal that invokes names like the Agonist, Blind Guardian, and Kobra & the Lotus. Founded in 2007 and fronted by powerhouse vocalist Brittney Hayes, the quintet also features the talents of Scott Buchanan, Grant Truesdell, Andrew Kingsley, and Nikko Whitworth. Unleash the Archers released their full-length debut, Behold the Devastation, independently in 2009. The group turned heads in 2011 with the science fiction-themed concept LP Demons of the Astrowaste, which they quickly followed up with a three-song EP, Defy the Skies, in 2012. Three years later the band inked a deal with Napalm Records and released their third studio long-player, Time Stands Still. Apex, also released via Napalm, followed in 2017.

Creedence Clearwater Revival - "Long As I Can See The Light (lyric video)" [Rock & Alternative]

Long As I Can See The Light (lyric video)

"Long As I Can See The Light (lyric video)" music video by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Added: 18-06-2020
Genre : Rock & Alternative
Description : Creedence Clearwater Revival - Long As I Can See The Light (Official Music Video)

"Long as I Can See the Light" is taken from CCR's legendary fifth studio album, Cosmo's Factory. Stream now or pre-order the 50th anniversary half-speed mastered vinyl: https://ift.tt/37EoiYK

We’re honored to unveil this special fan-generated video for the beloved Cosmo’s Factory closer, “Long as I Can See the Light.” In the lead-up to Father’s Day 2020, Creedence fans worldwide were encouraged to submit videos and photos documenting cherished memories with their fathers, grandfathers or other guiding lights in their life. Warm thanks for all the incredibly moving fan contributions.

The tradition of musical inheritance is strong among CCR appreciators: The band’s timeless albums have been proudly passed down from generation to generation. Music’s capacity to draw people together is more important now than ever, so while many may be unable to be physically near their loved ones this Father’s Day, the hope is that this video will help remind families just how deeply they’re connected.

One of many hits on Cosmo’s Factory "Long as I Can See the Light" was released in 1970 as part of a double A-side single with "Lookin’ out My Back Door.” Both songs peaked at number two in the U.S., and despite Creedence having never played “Long as I Can See the Light” live, it became a fan favorite. Over the years, the song has taken on different meanings, but John Fogerty has stated that the song is "about the loner in me. Wanting to feel understood, needing those at home to shine a light so that I can make my way back."

Commemorating the 50th anniversary of Cosmo’s Factory this summer, Craft Recordings is issuing a half-speed master edition of the album, pressed on 180-gram vinyl and set for release on August 14th. The album was mastered at half speed by the award-winning engineer Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios. Available for pre-order now, this audiophile edition of Cosmo’s Factory comes housed in a tip-on jacket, replicating the original packaging.

A softly-emotive singer, Olivia Devine (aka L Devine) makes hooky, often dance-oriented pop that retains the relatable vulnerability of more folk-oriented performers. Following her self-posted songs, Devine emerged to wider fame in 2017 with her debut EP Growing Pains.

Born in 1997 and raised in Whitley Bay near Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Devine became interested in music at a young age. By her teens she was posting songs online including a cover of Beyonce's "Mine," which caught the attention of producer Mickey Valen, who encouraged her work. Subsequently, she relocated to London where she and Valen produced her debut EP, 2017's Growing Pains. Included was the single "School Girls," which found an audience online and drew favorable comparisons to artists like Robyn, Dua Lipa, and Tove Lo. She returned in 2018 with a second EP, Peer Pressure, featuring the track "Nervous." A standalone single, "Naked Alone," arrived in May 2019.

Thoughts and Prayers
by Richard Patrick

the day starts out the same
another day to try and live
took some kids to school today
and I got some blood to give
a young man is a trigger finger
and a sharpened plastic shive
he blocks the exits checks his 15
and stops the will to forgive

just another day in the hate land
just another day in the hate land baby

thoughts and prayers
post and shares
i’m bleeding out of open wounds
another day that no one cares

fake ass bitches in the belt way
are beneath me to begin
cause fake ass bitches in the belt way
love to lie, cheat and steel to win
talks a good game but the rules have changed
they took when they needed to give apathy is a bigger trigger
we gotta flip the middle finger to live

just another day in the hate land
just another day in the hate land baby

thoughts and prayers
post and shares
i’m bleeding out of open wounds
another day that no one cares

look whats happing to us now

they got us right where they want us at each others throats

American hard rock outfit Filter emerged as one of the most popular bands in the mid-'90s post-industrial alternative scene, evolving from a Nine Inch Nails offshoot into a fully realized entity under the guidance of primary creative force Richard Patrick. Breaking into the mainstream with their 1995 debut, Short Bus, Filter made their contribution to the era with the enduring single "Hey Man, Nice Shot" before expanding their creative scope and incorporating fresh elements from outside the industrial world with their highest-charting effort to date, Title of Record. That album also spawned their highest-charting single with the surprisingly vulnerable "Take a Picture," which peaked just shy of the Top Ten on the Hot 100. At this peak in the band's popularity, Patrick entered rehab, and the group -- by this point a one-man show with recurring lineup changes -- would not be revived for over five years. While the rock world veered in new directions, Filter attempted various stylistic shifts, incorporating electronic and pop elements while trying to maintain their core sound. Fluctuating chart performance and sales created a lull into the 2010s, with 2013's The Sun Comes Out Tonight briefly pulling Filter to their best showing on the Billboard 200 in over a decade. At the close of the 2010s, Patrick celebrated Filter's '90s peak with deluxe reissues of their first two efforts.

In 2018, over two decades after Filter's breakthrough, Patrick reconnected with Liesegang to craft a sequel to Short Bus. Setbacks eventually forced the pair to take another approach, but to celebrate their debut all the same, an expanded edition of Short Bus was released with a handful of remixes. The following year, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Title of Record, Patrick also reissued the album, bundling it with the fan-favorite soundtrack contributions from that era.

Born Antoine McColister in Port St. Lucie, Florida, Ace Hood was raised by his mother in Deerfield Beach, 20 miles north of Miami. Rap music became his full-time obsession after he suffered a football injury in the tenth grade, effectively putting the kibosh on a professional sports career. By age 17, he was recording tracks for local imprint Dollaz n Dealz, and had put out a few street singles, including 2006's "M.O.E." (i.e., "Money Over Everything"). In November of the following year, Ace maneuvered his way into meeting DJ Khaled at local radio station 99 JAMZ and handed the Miami mixtape DJ his demo. Within a matter of weeks, DJ Khaled signed Ace, then 19 years old, as the first artist to his newly formed We the Best Music, which obtained distribution through Def Jam a few weeks after that.

Ace's Def Jam debut single, the Runners-produced "Cash Flow," featuring Rick Ross and ubiquitous hook singer T-Pain, arrived in early 2008 and turned out to be a smash hit on South Florida radio. A few mixtapes and guest appearances later, he released his first full-length, Gutta, in summer 2008. Ruthless followed the next year and, like its predecessor, peaked at number five on Billboard's R&B albums chart. Two years would pass before the ambitious Blood Sweat & Tears arrived, featuring some of Hood's best work to date. Trials & Tribulations followed in 2013 and found the rapper landing on Birdman's Cash Money label. Early the following year Hood dropped the free Starvation 3 mixtape, and in August of that year he released Body Bag 3. Trust the Process, the official follow-up to Trials & Tribulations, arrived in 2017, with Trust the Process II: Undefeated arriving the following year.

Alexander 23 emerged in 2019 with a vibe that was part heartbroken slacker and part playfully sparse, software-constructed pop on the single "Dirty AF1s."

Without revealing his identity at first (his social media featured the banner "Who is this"), Alexander 23 issued his debut single on Interscope in March 2019. He followed the release of "Dirty AF1s" with a tour of the U.S. in support of Alec Benjamin and an appearance at that August's Lollapalooza festival.

Inspired by similarly forthright rappers Lil' Kim, Trina, and Khia, as well as R&B artist Teedra Moses, Saweetie broke through with her gold-certified 2017 single "ICY GRL" and two years later scored a Top 40 pop hit with "My Type."

Born in Santa Clara, Diamonté Harper grew up in and around the Bay Area, primarily in the city of Hayward. Though she aspired to be a rapper in early childhood, she excelled academically, earned a full-ride college scholarship, and obtained a degree after attending San Diego State and the University of Southern California. Harper's interest in music intensified once she got some attention for short performance clips uploaded to Instagram. One set of nonchalantly celebratory rhymes, delivered over the instrumental of Khia's 2002 hit "My Neck, My Back," developed into "ICY GRL," her debut as Saweetie. The official video for the track, uploaded in October 2017, went viral and notched millions of views, and led to a major-label deal with Warner Bros. Saweetie's first EP, High Maintenance, arrived in March 2018 and entered Billboard's R&B/hip-hop chart at number 32. Centerpiece "ICY GRL" was certified gold the following January. Almost exactly a year after the arrival of High Maintenance, the rapper returned with a second EP, ICY. Two tracks featured Quavo, but that August, the London on Da Track-produced solo cut "My Type" took Saweetie into the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100.

Growing up in turmoil and poverty, rapper Skinnyfromthe9 turned to making bright and carefree-sounding music as an escape from his dark early days. Born David Villegas in 1995, he moved between his birthplace of Florida and New Jersey as his large family went through various troubles with money and the law, sometimes struggling with homelessness. In his late teens, he landed in Somerville, New Jersey to live with his father, working hard at service industry jobs and making original songs in his free time as an escape. In time, his musical tastes expanded, inspired in particular by the new and fascinating sound of Fetty Wap. He combined this new inspiration with his childhood fixation on Eminem and began posting his own tracks online around 2014. Slowly interest grew, with standout track "Love Blast" dropping in 2017 and quickly racking up streams. He rode this wave of momentum into the next year with singles like "Back When I Was Broke" and "Pink Choppas," whose lyrics often referenced his tough times growing up.

Beethoven - "Piano Sonate No. 7 (Hannes Minnaar)" [Classical]

Piano Sonate No. 7 (Hannes Minnaar)

"Piano Sonate No. 7 (Hannes Minnaar)" music video by Beethoven
Added: 18-06-2020
Genre : Classical
Description : Beethoven: Sonate voor piano nr. 7, op. 10, deel IV - Hannes Minnaar - AVROTROS Klassiek HD

Pianist Hannes Minnaar performs his favourite piano sonata by composer Ludwig van Beethoven: the fourth movement of the 'Piano Sonata No. 7, Op. 10'.

Beethoven: pure and uncut. AVROTROS Klassiek asked five young and talented pianists to pick their favourite Beethoven music and play it in front of our camera. In an empty hall in the Dutch city Utrecht they performed their most treasured Beethoven piece. Without editing, played in one piece.

Recording: May 2020 in Utrecht, The Netherlands.

-

Ludwig van Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 7 in D major, Op. 10, No. 3, was dedicated to the Countess Anne Margarete von Browne, and written in 1798. This makes it contemporary with his three Op. 9 string trios, his three Op. 12 violin sonatas, and the violin and orchestra romance that became his Op. 50 when later published. The year also saw the premiere of a revised version of his second piano concerto, whose original form had been written and heard in 1795.

The Op. 10 sonatas are usually described as angular or experimental, as Beethoven began moving further and further away from his earlier models. This third sonata of the set is the longest at approximately 24 minutes. It is the only one of the Op. 10 sonatas that has four movements. The second movement is famous for its intimations of later tragic slow movements, as well as for its own beauty.

The 69 Eyes are a dramatic goth metal band from Finland, with a dash of punk in their attitude and a sound that mixes polish with power. Drawing influence from bands like Motörhead, the Stooges, the Dead Boys, and the Doors, as well as movies like The Crow, The Lost Boys, and The Matrix, the band dabbled in glam metal-influenced, guitar-fueled decadence on early recordings like 1995's Savage Garden. Just a few years later, though, as evidenced by 2000's Blessed Be, the songs and the production showed much stronger goth leanings, and by 2009's Back in Blood, the goth stylings were strengthened by a hard-hitting industrial undercurrent that packed a much stronger punch.
