Dublin-based modern rock quartet Kodaline specialize in soaring, radio-ready guitar rock that's drawn comparisons to Coldplay, Keane, U2, and Oasis.

Formed in the working-class town of Swords, Ireland, around the talents of Steve Garrigan, Vinnie May, Jr., Jason Boland, and Mark Prendergast, the band released an eponymous EP in 2012, with plans to unleash a full-length outing the following year. At the end of the 2012, Kodaline were shortlisted for the BBC's Sound of 2013, but they were beaten to the top spot by HAIM. The group issued their debut album, In a Perfect World, in June 2013, which was preceded by the singles "High Hopes" and "Love Like This." The record was a major success in Ireland, going platinum twice, and it also did well in Britain (it peaked at three and went gold) as well as portions of Europe. Kodaline's second album, Coming Up for Air, followed in early 2015. The LP peaked at number four on the U.K. charts and spawned the singles "The One" and "Honest." In the summer of 2017, the band returned with the single "Brother" and the I Wouldn't Be EP. The next year, they issued the single "Follow Your Fire," which landed on their pop-leaning third full-length, Politics of Living, again topping the Irish charts. Kodaline's output remained steady, first with the concert album Live from Irving Plaza, NYC, 4 Dec 2018, followed in 2020 by their fourth album, One Day at a Time, a more stripped-down, back-to-basics, set that bassist Boland produced himself.

Sacramento, California electronic duo Rituals of Mine is the symbolic rebirth for singer/songwriter Terra Lopez and producer Dani Fernandez. Together since the 2010, they made their official debut with 2016's full-length, Devoted.

Formerly known as Sister Crayon, the pair linked up in 2010. Although Lopez created Sister Crayon, Fernandez joined the fold and they released two albums (2011's Bellow and 2013's Cynic) of beat-focused dark synth that was inspired by trip-hop and '90s hip-hop. While recording the third Sister Crayon album, Devoted, in 2015, tragedy befell Lopez when both her father and her best friend. died. After the twin losses, the pair decided to change their name, both as a way to put their loved ones to rest together with the name they knew in life, as well as to brand themselves with a moniker that fully belonged to both women. They signed with Warner Bros. and continued work on their album. Along with producers Wes Jones and Dave Clauss, Lopez and Fernandez also called upon the mixing talents of Tom Coyne (Led Zeppelin, Adele) for recording sessions in St. Augustine, Florida. Writing credits for the release also included contributions by Omar Rodriguez Lopez (At the Drive-In, the Mars Volta) on the title track. In 2016, they released "Ride or Die," influenced by the sounds of Portishead and Massive Attack. Before the official release of Devoted, they would further build their audience with opening stints for Deftones and Tricky. A handful of remix EPs landed in 2017, electronic reworkings of album tracks "Devoted," "Ride or Die," and "Armor."

In 2018, they began to roll out newly recorded music, including the dreamy single "I'll Always Be in Love with You" and the clattering electronic "No Time to Go Numb." The Sleeper Hold EP arrived in 2019, featuring the single "Burst."

A five-piece jam and alternative rock outfit hailing from Nashville, Moon Taxi quickly built a local following, which soon led to a record deal with 12th South Records. Members Trevor Terndrup (vocals), Spencer Thomson (guitar), Tommy Putnam (bass), Wes Bailey (keyboards), and Tyler Ritter (drums) released their debut album, Melodica, in 2007. Their next step, logically, was to keep their audiences happy and promote their album the old-fashioned way: with many, many gigs. A concert album titled Live Ride followed in 2008, and their second proper album, Cabaret, appeared in 2012. Moon Taxi signed to BMG for distribution of their 2013 LP Mountains Beaches Cities. The album led to their songs being licensed for TV and commercials, their first appearances on U.S. late-night TV including Late Show with David Letterman, and performances at music festivals such as Bonnaroo, the Governor’s Ball, and Lollapalooza. Their fourth studio LP, Daybreaker, was released in October 2015, followed in 2016 by another live album, New Year's Eve 2015. A single in early 2017, "Two High," showcased a brighter, pop-oriented sound. Later that year, another single, "Let the Record Play," arrived along with the announcement of Moon Taxi's impending fifth LP -- also called Let the Record Play -- which was released in January 2018.

Following Emily King's auspicious Grammy-nominated 2007 debut, East Side Story, the singer and songwriter underwent a period of creative growth that saw her move away from slick R&B toward a more sophisticated indie soul sound, which manifested itself on her self-released sophomore album, 2015's acclaimed The Switch. A later deal with ATO Records continued to showcase her mix of elegant popcraft and deeply nuanced arrangements, as heard on Scenery, released in 2018.

Coming on with a staccato delivery like 2 Chainz, but with material that is much more hardcore, Detroit MC IceWear Vezzo was a member of the Green Guyz crew who went solo in 2012. Born Chivez Smith in Detroit, some of Vezzo's close relatives and siblings lived in Minnesota where they formed the hip-hop group the Green Guyz. Vezzo ran his own Detroit-based version of the Green Guyz with the blessing of the original crew, but after a few regional hits, the MC decided to go it alone. In 2012 he dropped his debut mixtape The Clarity, while 2013 saw him release Clarity 2: Can't Stop the Count, featuring the breakout single "Money Phone." The track also appeared on his 2013 album The City Is Mine, and The Clarity 3 landed in 2014 and featured Vezzo's fellow Green Guyz cohort Webbo among its guests. He also issued the Solitaires album that year on his birthday, which happened to be Halloween, while the release of The Clarity 4 kicked off 2015, a year that saw him hit with the single "Moon Walken." The album Moon Walken followed in 2016. 2017 saw the release of the Price Goin' Up mixtape, which featured collaborations with Philthy Rich, Mozzy, BandGang Lonie Bands, Rocaine, and more.

The band explains: "One of the songs on our current album is called DEATHLESS, which deals with the topic of sexualised violence. According to UNIFEM it is estimated that 35 per cent of women worldwide have experienced either physical and/or sexual intimate partner violence or sexual violence by a non-partner (not including sexual harassment) at some point in their lives.
For anyone affected, we would like to hint at the following organizations:

- Unwomen.org
- the help line of the Federal Office for Family Affairs
- Zartbitter .e.V. with whom we have already been able to work together in the past thanks to your helpfulness.

Thanks to Ben // Port Royal Films for the video!"

Guitarist Tobias Buck formed Neaera in 2003, initially as a side project away from his usual death metal band, Münster, Germany's Malzan. Vocalist Benny Hilleke and drummer Sebastian Heldt came on board first, then former Malzan guitarist Benjamin Donath was added, but on bass. The band's death metal meets power metal sound began to form and numerous gigs were played under the name the Ninth Gate before it was decided a second guitarist and a name change were in order. Meanwhile, Malzan had fallen apart, so Malzan member Stefan Keller was recruited by Buck to play the second guitar in the Ninth Gate, rather than bass as he had in his former group. The Metal Blade label came calling in 2004 and pushed the issue of a name change. The bandmembers decided on Neaera, and in 2005 they made their debut with The Rising Tide of Oblivion. Let the Tempest Come appeared a year later, with Armamentarium following in 2007.

Unusually, Australian singer Holly Valance's first single, "Kiss Kiss," was released in the U.K. prior to its release at home, in the knowledge that the record would make a sizable impression in the bigger market. Valance was already well known in Great Britain for her appearances in the popular teen-oriented soap opera Neighbours. (A decade earlier the program had also launched the international careers of Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan.)

Born Holly Vukadinovic, her family originated from Serbia but she was born in Australia on May 11, 1983. Valance was just four years old when Minogue and Donovan (a couple both on and off the screen) were regular shoppers at Holly's father's clothing store in Melbourne. Valance started dancing and putting on shows for her family at home, and worked as a model from the age of 14. She won a part on Neighbours by the time she was 16, and appeared as one of the show's most popular new characters from 1999 to 2002.

Just as Minogue had almost 15 years earlier, Valance moved naturally into a dance-pop music career. Her debut album, 2002's Footprints, was released on London and featured production from Nellee Hooper, Anders Kallmark, and Phil Thornalley. The trailer single "Kiss Kiss" hit the top of the charts in the U.K. and Australia, and two further singles ("Down Boy," "Naughty Girl") made the Top Five in Australia. The album reached the Top 20 and earned gold certifications in both countries.

The concerto was never played in Schumann's lifetime. It was premiered on 23 April 1860, four years after his death, in Oldenburg, with Ludwig Ebert as soloist.

The length of a typical performance is about 25 minutes.

The two Serenades, Op. 11 and 16, represent early efforts by Johannes Brahms to write orchestral music. They both date from after the 1856 death of Robert Schumann when Brahms was residing in Detmold and had access to an orchestra.

Brahms had a goal of reaching Ludwig van Beethoven's level in writing symphonies, and worked long and hard on his first symphony, completing it only in 1876 when he was 43 years old. As preliminary steps in composing for orchestra, he chose early on to write some lighter orchestral pieces, these Serenades. The second was first sent to Clara Schumann, who was delighted by it.

The second serenade was written in 1859 and dedicated to Clara Schumann. The first public performance was in Hamburg on 10 February 1860. It was revised in 1875. It is scored for a chamber orchestra, including double woodwinds but omitting violins, trumpets, trombones, and percussion. The five movements take approximately thirty minutes to perform.

Eine kleine Nachtmusik (Serenade No. 13 for strings in G major), K. 525, is a 1787 composition for a chamber ensemble by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The German title means "a little serenade", though it is often rendered more literally as "a little night music". The work is written for an ensemble of 2 violins, viola, and cello with optional double bass but is often performed by string orchestras.

The serenade was completed in Vienna on 10 August 1787,[2] around the time Mozart was working on the second act of his opera Don Giovanni. It is not known why it was composed. Wolfgang Hildesheimer, noting that most of Mozart's serenades were written on commission, suggests that this serenade, too, was a commission, whose origin and first performance were not recorded.

The traditionally used name of the work comes from the entry Mozart made for it in his personal catalog, which begins, "Eine kleine Nacht-Musik". As Zaslaw and Cowdery point out, Mozart almost certainly was not giving the piece a special title, but only entering in his records that he had completed a little serenade.

The work was not published until about 1827, long after Mozart's death, by Johann André in Offenbach am Main. It had been sold to this publisher in 1799 by Mozart's widow Constanze, part of a large bundle of her husband's compositions.

Today, the serenade is widely performed and recorded; indeed, both Jacobson and Hildesheimer opine that the serenade is the most popular of all Mozart's works. Of the music, Hildesheimer writes, "even if we hear it on every street corner, its high quality is undisputed, an occasional piece from a light but happy pen."
