Sounds Beautiful Like The Truth
Mello Music Group, 2020

Marlowe is a collaborative alt-rap project from Seattle-based hip-hop producer L'Orange and North Carolina-based rapper Solemn Brigham. Their unique blend of quickfire vocals and dusty breakbeats is most well-known on tracks such as "Lost Arts" and "Cold Open." The project came together in 2018 with the sole intent of marrying Brigham's lyrics concerning social commentary, police brutality, and poverty with L'Orange's thudding beats and crackling vinyl samples to achieve a new, refreshing take on hip-hop in the late 2010s. They made their first appearance in mid- to late 2018 with the track "Lost Arts." Their self-titled LP soon followed via Mello Music Group.

"La Tristesse Durera (Scream to a Sigh)" is a song by Welsh rock band Manic Street Preachers. It was released in 1993 by record label Columbia as the second single from their second studio album Gold Against the Soul.

It reached number 22 in UK Singles Chart.

The song's title is taken from the reported last words of Vincent van Gogh, "La tristesse durera toujours", quoted in a letter from his younger brother Theo to their sister Elisabeth, using her nickname Lies. The letter was translated by Robert Harrison, who states that the phrase means "The sadness will last forever".

As they grew from quirky mid-2000s blog darlings into a rock band with a polished yet passionate sound, Cold War Kids' music spanned influences as diverse as Tom Waits, Billie Holiday, Nick Cave, and U2. The group's shifting lineup reflected their evolving sound over the years, from the stomping blues-punk of 2006's debut Robbers & Cowards to the slick alt-rock of 2011's Mine Is Yours. Cold War Kids grew more anthemic, and more popular, as time went on: 2017's L.A. Divine, which celebrated the mythos of their adopted hometown as well as the power of sweeping rock, made the Top Ten of Billboard's Top Rock Albums chart.

In 2019, Cold War Kids kicked off a trilogy of mini-albums with that October's New Age Norms, Vol. 1, which folded hints of pop, funk, and disco, as well as more topical songwriting, into their sound. The single, "Who's Gonna Love Me Now,"

Most well-known for a mellow and laconic vocal approach, yet capable of switching to an outwardly emotional mode with sung hooks, Atlanta-based rapper K Camp toiled underground for years before he achieved commercial success with "Money Baby" and "Cut Her Off" (both 2013). These platinum hits were also received with critical acclaim, most notably placement in XXL magazine's Freshman Class, and led to the album Only Way Is Up (2015), the source of three additional RIAA-certified singles. K Camp has since experienced a resurgence with "Lottery (2019)," alternately known as "Lottery (Renegade)," a viral hit through video sharing applications that helped make the subsequent fourth album, Kiss 5 (2020), his second release to peak within the Top 30 of the Billboard 200.

Australian singer/songwriter Katie Dey is known for her inventive, unconventionally arranged home-recorded pop tunes. She often twists and distorts her voice into an abrasive croak, lending an extra sense of fragility to her lyrics about fear and isolation. Her full-length label debut, Flood Network, saw release in 2016.
The Melbourne-based Dey had been playing various instruments since her preteen years, and eventually she posted some of her songs on her blog. One of these songs caught the attention of Mat Cothran of Elvis Depressedly, who brought Dey's music to the attention of Warren Hildebrand (Foxes in Fiction), co-owner of Orchid Tapes. Dey had long been a fan of the label, so she jumped at the chance to work with them. She released a short album titled asdfasdf for free on her Bandcamp page in 2015, and when Orchid Tapes issued a cassette version, it sold out its first pressing in a day. She then signed to Joy Void for her second release, the full-length Flood Network, which was released in August of 2016. A collaborative album with indie electronic artist Devi McCallion called Some New Form of Life followed in late 2018 before she returned with the solo album Solipsisters in 2019.

Mississippi-based singer/songwriter and ukulele aficionado Dent May crafts elegant and whimsical pop tunes in the vein of Jens Lekman and Magnetic Fields, with a dash of Serge Gainsbourg and Jonathan Richman thrown in for good measure. In 2008 May inked a deal with the Animal Collective-founded Paw Tracks imprint, culminating in the release of The Good Feeling Music of Dent May & His Magnificent Ukulele the following year. May soon turned to creating dance music under the name Dent Sweat, releasing a couple of synth-filled, R&B-inspired songs to the Internet. His next album, 2012's Do Things, incorporated some of these elements into his sound, which was now completely devoid of ukulele. The sessions for his next record found May moving out of his home studio and recording by himself in an allegedly haunted house in St. Augustine. Less dance music-inspired and more introspective, 2013's Warm Blanket spotlights May's increasingly impressive songwriting skills. May moved to Los Angeles after the album's release and began to absorb the sunny sounds of the West Coast, which was apparent on his disco-informed "Face Down in the Gutter of Your Love" single from 2016. Along with switching his home address, May also traded labels, moving from Paw Tracks to Carpark in time for the release of his 2017 album, Across the Multiverse.

Hailing from South Africa and comprising members Shaun Morgan (vocals, guitar), Dale Stewart (bass), and John Humphrey (drums), Seether embrace a brand of heavy metal mostly associated with the post-grunge era of alternative music, complete with crunchy distortion and brooding textures. The band emerged in 1999 as Saron Gas (a name taken from the back of a sound effects CD) and released its debut album, Fragile, the following year on Musketeer Records. In a country whose musical tastes center around pop and indigenous music, Fragile found impressive chart success. Across the Atlantic, the U.S.-based Wind Up Records caught wind of the band's growing popularity and signed the South African bandmates, who changed their name to Seether in light of Saron Gas' similarity to the lethal nerve agent sarin gas.

Blessed with a perfect country voice and the uncompromising determination of a punk rocker, H.C. McEntire (also known as Heather McEntire) is best known as a member of the bands Mount Moriah and Bellafea, as well as for her work as a solo artist. Heather Cecelia McEntire was born in rural North Carolina on September 13, 1981. McEntire was raised in a farming community, and her parents were evangelical Christians who worked as part of Billy Graham's television ministry. McEntire grew up on a musical diet of gospel music, bluegrass, and Christian country music. It wasn't until McEntire went away to college (where she studied creative writing and women's studies) that she felt free enough to accept herself as a lesbian and step away from her Christian upbringing. She also worked at the college radio station, where she embraced punk rock.

After Mount Moriah dropped their third album, How to Dance, in 2016, McEntire found herself struggling with depression and felt at loose ends with her bandmates. While working on a project for Girls Rock -- a group that uses music programs to empower girls, women, and people of marginalized genders -- McEntire met Kathleen Hanna, founder of Bikini Kill, Le Tigre, and the Julie Ruin. Hanna urged McEntire to record a solo project, and helped her sort through the songs she considered for the album. In February 2018, Merge released McEntire's solo debut, which was titled Lionheart and credited to H.C. McEntire.

Playing glossy contemporary pop with a romantic spirit, Nightly is the brainchild of Joey Beretta and Jonathan Capeci, cousins who began making music together before they were old enough to drive. Beretta and Capeci grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and came from households filled with music. When Beretta was 13 and Capeci was 14, they bought matching electric guitars and formed a band; the pair played in a variety of combos around Philadelphia and New Jersey, and while they set music aside when they went off to college, within two years they'd both dropped out and headed to Nashville, Tennessee in hopes of making a career out of music. For several years, they played together in a band called Dinner and a Suit, who toured extensively (including several dates on the Vans Warped Tour) and released an album and an EP before breaking up near the end of 2015. In 2016, Beretta and Capeci launched a new project, Nightly, taking the name from a texting abbreviation for "Goodnight, Love You." Beretta and Capeci penned a breakup song called "XO," and after recording the tune they posted it online. To their surprise, the track began racking up hundreds of thousands of plays as well as receiving radio airplay in Nashville, and Nightly were suddenly a hot property. After playing a series of showcases, the band struck a deal with Interscope Records, which released a four-song EP, Honest, in October 2016. The group toured hard in support, sharing stages with the likes of Ke$ha, the All-American Rejects, and the Struts. In February 2018, Nightly dropped a new single, "Miss You Like Hell," while they were touring with rapper NF. It was later included on their EP, The Sound of Your Voice. Another EP, Talk You Down, followed in 2019 along with the single "This Time Last Year."

With the release of their fourth studio album, Bones, in 2015, Rafiq Bhatia and Ian Chang joined Son Lux, transforming the project into a three-piece band. After the release of the extended plays (EPs), Stranger Forms and Remedy, the band's fifth album, Brighter Wounds, was released in February 2018.

A Moroccan-American rapper who built an indie empire with his Cocaine City imprint, French Montana rose from the New York underground in the 2000s to emerge as a pop savvy hip-hop artist in the 2010s. Starting with debut LP Excuse My French, he became known for his high-profile collaborations and a handful of chart hits including "Unforgettable" from his 2017 sophomore release, Jungle Rules.

In 2018, Montana joined with Diplo, Lil Pump, and Zhavia Ward for the bombastic single "Welcome to the Party" from the Deadpool 2 soundtrack, which returned him to the Hot 100. Additional singles -- "No Stylist" with Drake and "Slide" with Blueface and Lil Tjay -- were also chart hits, carrying Montana into 2019. Those latter tracks later landed on his third effort, which was issued toward the end of the year on the same day he was released from hospitalization in the ICU. A double-album, Montana, boasted an impressive cast of guests, including Juicy J ("50's & 100's"), Swae Lee (on the "Unforgettable" sequel "Out of Your Mind"), and Post Malone and Cardi B ("Writing on the Wall"). Upon release, the LP debuted at number 25 on the Billboard 200.

Giacomo Antonio Domenico Michele Secondo Maria Puccini (22 December 1858 – 29 November 1924) was an Italian opera composer who has been called "the greatest composer of Italian opera after Verdi".

Puccini's early work was rooted in traditional late-19th-century romantic Italian opera. Later, he successfully developed his work in the realistic verismo style, of which he became one of the leading exponents.

Puccini's most renowned works are La bohème (1896), Tosca (1900), Madama Butterfly (1904), and Turandot (1924), all of which are among the important operas played as standards.

Welsh post-hardcore band Dream State infuse elements of math-rock, punk, and metal into their music to add variety to an already urgent sound.

The group was formed in 2014 by vocalist CJ Gilpin, guitarists Aled Rhys Evans and Rhys Wilcox, drummer Jamie Lee, and bassist Danny Ryer. Their debut EP, Consequences, arrived the following year. They were picked up by Australian label UNFD in 2017, which went on to release their breakthrough single "White Lies." The following year they released the Recovery EP, which alluded to Gilpin's former drug addiction, past trauma, and subsequent depression; the record was well-received, leading the band to win Best Newcomer at The Kerrang! Awards. Dream State saw some slight lineup changes in 2019, with Ryer leaving to spend time with his family; this didn't stop them from moving forward, though, as they managed to release their debut full-length, Primrose Path, later the same year.

Und die stets geschmackssicheren Kollegen von Nothing But Hope And Passion schwärmen in schönen Bildern: „A slow beat and moody tunes create a cinematic, almost sinister feel, (…) perfect to imagine yourself walking away in slow motion from the house you just set on fire."

#SuzanKöchersSuprafon wurde im März 2020 in der Bonner Harmonie beim #CrossroadsFestival vom WDR #Rockpalast aufgezeichnet.
