Whitechapel "Doom Woods" from "The Valley".

Guitarist Alex Wade comments: "We are excited to release the animated video for 'Doom Woods' off our 2019 release 'The Valley'. While we have some time off from touring, we thought it would be a great time to give a visual representation to the closing track from the album. We were blown away with what the design team was able to create and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did. It really gives the track a new depth."

An uncompromising deathcore outfit based out of Knoxville, Tennessee, Whitechapel (named for the London neighborhood where the notorious Jack the Ripper disposed of most of his victims) blend grindcore, hardcore, and melodic black metal into an unholy trinity of audio violence. Emerging in 2007 with the punitive Somatic Defilement, the group issued a string of dark underground gems before bloodying up the mainstream with the release of 2014's Our Endless War, which remains the group's highest charting album to date.

Formed in 2006 by Phil Bozeman, Brandon Cagle, and Ben Savage, the lineup grew with the arrivals of guitarist Alex Wade, bassist Gabe Crisp, and drummer Derek Martin, all of whom appeared on the band's 2006 self-produced demo. A European record deal with the Siege of Amida label and a distribution deal with Candlelight soon followed, resulting in the release of the group's debut long-player The Somatic Defilement in 2007. That same year, the band parted ways with Savage and Martin, who were replaced by guitarist Zach Householder and drummer Kevin Lane. After signing on with Metal Blade, Whitechapel returned with its sophomore effort, This Is Exile, in 2008, followed shortly thereafter by A New Era of Corruption in 2010. In 2011, the group parted ways with Lane, replacing the drummer with Ben Harclerode, who made his debut on the remix EP Recorrupted later that year. Whitechapel returned the following year with a self-titled album, which was followed by their fifth album, Our Endless War, in 2014, the latter of which debuted at number one the Billboard Hard Rock Charts, and garnered near universal acclaim in the metal community. 2015 saw the release of the crowd-funded live CD/DVD Brotherhood of the Blade, which fans regarded as another high point. The band re-entered the studio at the beginning of 2016 with producer Mark Lewis (Black Dahlia Murder, Cannibal Corpse), completing 11 new songs that showcased an evolution in their deathcore sound to include both clean and dirty vocals. The resulting Mark of the Blade later that June. Whitechapel continued to seek out a more melodic style of death metal on 2019's The Valley.

With his slicked-back hair and leather jacket, G-Eazy was known as "the James Dean of rap" when he debuted in the late 2000s. Armed with bars that detailed hedonistic excess and conflicted inner turmoil, he steadily climbed the charts in the 2010s on the strength of his hit duet with Bebe Rexha, "Me, Myself & I," from his major-label debut, 2014's These Things Happen. He repeated that success in 2017 with third album The Beautiful & Damned, which paired him with Halsey on the platinum "Him & I," and A$AP Rocky and Cardi B on the Top Four hit "No Limit."

Eazy's 2019 output included the EP B-Sides, the single "West Coast" featuring Blueface, and a bevy of features on tracks by Chris Brown, Carnage, and T-Pain. He closed the year with a second EP, Scary Nights, which recruited Moneybagg Yo, French Montana, Miguel, and others.

A down-to-earth rapper and singer who has worked closely with Pharrell Williams and Kaytranada, Buddy was nicknamed at an early age by his sister. The tag stuck with the young Simmie Sims, who began to take music-making seriously as a middle schooler in his native Compton, California. While in his late teens, through his manager, Buddy found an admirer in Pharrell Williams, who added him to the roster of Star Trak, and subsequently that of I Am Other. Produced by Williams, the rambunctious debut single "Awesome Awesome" arrived as Buddy's proper debut single in 2011. After a little additional material, Buddy's next big stride was with the mixtape Idle Time, released in 2014 with guest spots from Williams, Kendrick Lamar, and Miley Cyrus. Stray tracks were scattered throughout the next couple of years and led to the 2017 EP Ocean & Montana, an independent five-track effort recorded with Kaytranada. The full-length Harlan & Alondra, named after the cross streets of his childhood home, arrived in July 2018. Among the notable tracks on which Buddy has lent support throughout the years are Nipsey Hussle's "Status Symbol" and "Status Symbol 2," DJ Quik and Problem's "This Is Your Moment," BJ the Chicago Kid's "Man Down" and "Church," and Iman Omari and Like's "Backwoods (Third Eye)." Collaborations with Ty Dolla $ign ("Hey Up There") and Khalid ("Trippin'") followed in 2018.

"(I'm Not Your) Steppin' Stone" is a rock song written by Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart. It was first recorded by Paul Revere & the Raiders and appeared on their album Midnight Ride, released in May 1966.

It is best known as a hit for The Monkees (US #20), released in November 1966, (making it the first Monkees B-side to chart). Musicians featured on the Monkees recording are: Micky Dolenz (lead vocal); Tommy Boyce (backing vocal); Wayne Erwin and Gerry McGee (rhythm guitar); Louis Shelton (lead guitar); Bobby Hart (Vox Continental organ); Larry Taylor (bass); Billy Lewis (drums); and Henry Lewy (percussion).

The various Monkees' versions differ across the single, stereo album, and mono album versions. In the stereo version, the track's title is sung just before the second verse, whereas on the single and mono album versions, this segment is left instrumental. Additionally, the stereo version has an edit in the fade out. The mono album version does not have this edit and therefore has a longer coda. The single also does not have the edit, but it fades the song earlier than the mono album. All Monkees' hits compilations through the mid-1980s used the stereo version, and afterward typically used the single version.

The alias of electronic musician and producer Harley Edward Streten, Flume makes atmospheric dance music inspired by house and U.K. garage. Recruiting collaborators from across genres, he rose up the main-stage ranks with his 2012 debut and his Grammy-winning 2016 sophomore effort, Skin.

Born in Australia, Streten began producing his own music in his early teens. Several years later, he won a competition held by Future Classic and subsequently signed with the label to release a 2011 EP featuring the track "Sleepless." The following year, Flume delivered his debut self-titled solo album, which featured guest appearances from Chet Faker, Jezzabell Doran, and Moon Holiday, among others. In his homeland, it topped the ARIA album chart and went double platinum; in the U.S. it was issued on the Mom + Pop label. A deluxe edition of the debut followed in November 2013 with cred-enhancing contributions from Ghostface Killah, Boldy James, M.O.P., and Killer Mike. The same month, he released his and Faker's collaborative Lockjaw EP and toured the U.S. with Disclosure. Several ARIA Awards -- including Producer of the Year, Breakthrough Artist, and Best Dance Release -- were handed to him the next month.

Streten spent the next couple of years touring and released the single "Some Minds," a collaboration with Miike Snow's Andrew Wyatt, in 2015. His 2016 sophomore set, Skin, featured collaborations with AlunaGeorge, Little Dragon, Vic Mensa, and Beck. The single "Never Be Like You" featuring Kai was a worldwide hit, along with "Say It" featuring Tove Lo. Later that year, Flume released the Skin Companion I and Skin Companion II EPs, which included contributions by Isabella Manfredi and Pusha T, respectively. Skin also won several awards, most notably the 2016 ARIA Awards for Album of the Year, Best Dance Release, and Best Independent Release, as well as the 2017 Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Album.

He returned in early 2019 with the surprise mixtape Hi This Is Flume. The atmospheric set featured appearances by HWLS, slowthai, JPEGMAFIA, and SOPHIE. The mixtape also earned Flume his third Grammy nomination, for Best Dance/Electronic Album. Quits, a split EP with Reo Cragun, appeared in August of that year, followed a month later by the single "Rushing Back," which featured Vera Blue.

Carach Angren is a symphonic black metal trio from the Netherlands whose sound is rich in texture, orchestration, and dynamics, often utilizing string players to highlight their intense meld of guitars, drums, keyboards, and multi-lingual vocals. All of their recordings are concept albums and feature a carefully produced aesthetic that weds dynamically arranged strings in faux-classical style with furious blastbeats, buzzing guitars, and harsh vocals. They call their own music "horror metal," though fans would disagree given the sheer depth and detail in their musical storytelling. The band's name comes from J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings trilogy -- "Carach Angren" is an Elvish Sindaren phrase that directly translates to "Iron Jaws" and signifies a strongly held pass into Mordor. After a pair of EPs and two previous albums, they cut their Seasons of Mist debut Where the Corpses Sink Forever in 2012, highlighting their mature style; it broke through to wider audiences in the United States as well as South America and Asia.

Formed in 2003, its three members -- Seregor (vocals, guitars), Ardek (keyboards, orchestration, backing vocals), and Namtar (drums) -- were part of Vault Age; their departure resulted in the band's demise. They issued their first demo -- The Chase Vault Tragedy -- the same year and followed with the Ethereal Veiled Existence EP a year later -- both were recorded in home studios. The band worked out a live show with additional members and spent as much time writing and rehearsing as they did playing in clubs. Lammendam, their debut long-player, was issued by Maddening Media. Metal audiences in Northern and Western Europe were taking notice; virtually all of the press CA received for the recording was positive. Two years later, the band issued their own take on the Flying Dutchman myth with Death Came Through a Phantom Ship. It proved a critical breakthrough, as attention for the outfit spread to the U.S. and Southern Europe. In the press, the trio are often compared to Cradle of Filth and Dimmu Borgir. The album's reception and now-stellar live show precipitated a move to Seasons of Mist for 2012's Where the Corpses Sink Forever. Co-produced with Patrick Damiani, it was promoted with a video for the track "The Funerary Dirge of a Violinist." 2015's This Is No Fairytale was recorded in Sweden and Germany. Its promotional video for "When Crows Tick on Windows" and lyric video for "There's No Place Like Home" helped the trio reach a wider audience and garner more touring opportunities. 2017's Dance and Laugh Amongst the Rotten was recorded at Studio Abyss in December 2016 and January 2017 and issued in June of 2017.

An eclectic indie rock act from New York, Dirty Projectors are a band of stylistic contradictions. Creating music that is at once challenging and accessible, Dirty Projectors' recordings are full of engaging melodies, thoughtful arrangements, and polished harmonies that are punctuated with angular stylistic shifts, wiry guitar work, and lyrics whose themes sometimes run counter to the sounds they accompany. The brainchild of vocalist, songwriter, and instrumentalist Dave Longstreth, Dirty Projectors first caught the attention of indie rock followers with 2004's Slaves' Graves and Ballads and 2005's The Getty Address, while 2007's Rise Above found them reworking songs from Black Flag's back catalog in truly unexpected ways. While Rise Above earned the group plenty of press, it was 2009's Bitte Orca that was their true critical and popular breakthrough, a commercial success that also found Longstreth and his collaborators writing and performing at the peak of their powers.

In December 2019, Dirty Projectors released Sing the Melody, a live-in-the-studio set that found the touring version of the band performing highlights from the Lamp Lit Prose tour. Along with six songs from the Dirty Projectors' catalog, the album featured "Knotty Pine," which Dave Longstreth wrote in collaboration with David Byrne, and "FourFiveSeconds," the Rihanna/Kanye West/Paul McCartney hit that Longstreth helped write and produce.

The career of stylistically left-of-center rapper Aminé took off with the multi-platinum number 11 pop hit "Caroline" (2016) and continued to ascend with the gold-certified album Good for You (2017) and stardom-affected follow-up ONEPOINTFIVE (2018).
A native of Portland, Oregon, Adam Aminé Daniel rapped in high school but didn't take it seriously until after he graduated. It took him a while to find his voice, as heard on Odyssey to Me, a 2014 release the artist quickly put behind him. The radically improved Calling Brio followed a year later, boasting input from the likes of Kaytranada, Tek.Lun, and fellow Pacific Northwesterner Pasqué, as well as askew trap and tribal productions of Aminé's making.

Signed to Republic, Aminé made his major-label debut in 2016 with "Caroline," a freaky-flirty Pasqué collaboration that reached number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 the following January. Six months later -- just after XXL magazine included him in their 2017 Freshman Class feature -- Aminé issued Good for You, on which he was joined by Charlie Wilson, Ty Dolla $ign, Offset, and Kehlani. The album entered the Billboard 200 at number 31 and eventually went gold.

A collaboration with the trio Injury Reserve, "Campfire," was released in April 2018 and was followed four months later by ONEPOINTFIVE. The reluctantly classified follow-up featured the lead single "Reel It In," among the project's songs informed by the downsides of Aminé's newfound fame. He returned in 2019 with the contemplative single "Places + Faces."

Austin, Texas' MISSIO are an electronic duo known for their dark, emotive pop. Formed in 2014, MISSIO feature singer/songwriter Matthew Brue and producer/instrumentalist David Butler. Initially, the project began as an outlet for Brue's solo material. However, after he invited Butler to collaborate on a few songs, they decided to move forward together. Recording in Butler's converted garage/home studio, they began sculpting their brooding, anthemic sound, releasing such tracks as "I Don't Even Care About You," "I Run to You," and "Can I Exist?" By the end of 2015, they had made their debut at SXSW and garnered support slots alongside acts like SAFIA, K. Flay, and others. In early 2017 they delivered the single "Middle Fingers" and signed a recording contract with RCA Records, which released their debut full-length, Loner, in May of that year. A pair of stripped-down EPs, Skeletons, Pt. 1 & Pt. 2, followed in 2018, acting as companion pieces to Loner. MISSIO kicked off 2019 with the "Rad Drugz" single, a preview for second LP The Darker the Weather // The Better the Man, which was released in April.

Inspired by the work of acts such as the Who and Hüsker Dü, Press Club are a four-piece alt-rock/punk outfit from Melbourne, Australia. Formed in 2016, the band quickly became known on the local scene for their loud and brash songs such as "Suburbia" and "Headwreck." Made up of vocalist Natalie Foster, guitarist Greg Rietwyk, bass guitarist Rufio MacRae, and drummer Frank Lees, the group came together out of the ashes of former bands. They spent 2017 writing material and performing throughout Melbourne, earning an ever-burgeoning and committed fan base. In 2018, their single "Suburbia" caught the attention of several Australian radio stations and the band were subsequently picked to perform at the NYE on the Hill and Falls festivals. Mid-2018 saw the group record and produce their debut album in their native Brunswick. The quartet opted to record entirely to tape and relied purely on analog equipment to achieve the more raw and incendiary elements of their sound. They performed a number of shows around Australia and the U.K. before delivering their LP Late Teens, in January 2019. They toured in promotion of the record with the Smith Street Band throughout the early part of the year and quickly returned in August 2019 with a second full-length, Wasted Energy, which featured the track "Thinking About You."

Giuseppe Verdi's String Quartet in E minor was written in the spring of 1873 during a production of Aida in Naples. It is the only surviving chamber music work in Verdi's catalogue.

Verdi's production of Aida in early March, 1873 was delayed due to the sudden illness of soprano Teresa Stolz. Verdi focused his time in Naples on the writing of his first chamber work, the String Quartet in E minor. The work was premiered two days after the opening of Aida during an informal recital at his hotel on April 1, 1873. The names of the original performers survive only as Pinto brothers, violins, Salvadore, viola, and Giarritiello, cello.

Verdi commented on the work, saying "I've written a Quartet in my leisure moments in Naples. I had it performed one evening in my house, without attaching the least importance to it and without inviting anyone in particular. Only the seven or eight persons who usually come to visit me were present. I don't know whether the Quartet is beautiful or ugly, but I do know that it's a Quartet!"

The quartet also exists in a version for string orchestra by Arturo Toscanini.
