Maryland rapper Q Da Fool was born George Hundall in 1997. Growing up in the Prince George County area of Maryland, bordering the easternmost portion of Washington, D.C., Hundall was involved early on with rap collective Pakk Boyz Gang before branching out solo. He set up a platform for fame by sharing his music on Spinrilla, offering frequent mixtapes such as 2015's Trap Fever, Trap Flu, and Trap Gospel, all released within weeks of each other. He collaborated frequently, working on tracks with artists such as Will Tha Rapper and Big Flock. Q Da Fool had multiple run-ins with the law and did several stints in jail. During a sentence in 2016, he completed work on two mixtapes Stacks Da Fool and Committed To The Streets. After his time in prison, he parted ways with Pakk Boyz and initiated new project Rich Shootah, all the while working on a constant stream of new solo music. Some of his most visible work came with 2017 mixtape 100 Round Goon. This energetic collection of songs represented a step up in production for Q and featured songs "Gun N Bells," "Right There," and "Catch Up," all of which had accompanying videos that gained enormous exposure. He was arrested again in summer of 2017, this time moments before he was supposed to perform a concert.

An indie rock quartet whose debut single, "Fever," earned them the title of "Britain's best new band" in February 2001, Starsailor continue the rich lineage of Travis, Coldplay, and other anthemic pop/rock bands. Formed in Wigan by music students James Walsh (vocals/guitar), James Stelfox (bass), and Ben Byrne (drums), the band went through several guitar-heavy embryonic lineups before the arrival of keyboardist Barry Westhead (keyboards) cemented its sound. Starsailor took their name from Tim Buckley's acclaimed 1970 album and, with their lineup in place, played their first London show at the Heavenly Social in April 2000. At the same time, a demo tape containing the tracks "Fever," "Coming Down," and "Love Is Here" began circulating around the music industry. A queue of record companies had formed by that summer, many of them eager to sign the nascent band, and EMI won the race for their signature. After spending January 2001 on an NME-sponsored tour with JJ72 and Amen, Starsailor released the "Fever" single to critical praise.

By the end of 2009, Walsh had put the band on hiatus in order to focus on his solo career; they would remain inactive for five years. Starsailor reunited in 2014, embarking on a series of festival appearances and support slots, including shows with the Pixies and James. The following year saw the release of a greatest-hits album, which featured their first new material since their re-formation in the tracks "Give Up the Ghost" and "Hold On." Two years later, Starsailor returned with their fifth studio album, All This Life, featuring production from Embrace guitarist Richard McNamara.

Best known for their hit single "Walking on a Dream," Australia's larger-than-life electro-glam-pop duo Empire of the Sun feature the Sleepy Jackson's Luke Steele and Pnau's Nick Littlemore. Steele had previously worked with Pnau on "With You Forever," a track from the band's 2007 self-titled third album, and the pair enjoyed collaborating so much that they started their own project, drawing inspiration from the likes of Phoenix and Daft Punk. In fall 2008, Empire of the Sun released their debut album, Walking on a Dream, which the musicians described as "a spiritual road movie." Featuring songs co-written by Pnau's other half, Peter Mayes, the album went platinum in Australia and the title track became a hit single across the globe (even topping the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart nearly a decade after release when it was used in an American car advertisement).

After time spent touring -- and a period when Littlemore took a short hiatus from the group to write music for Cirque du Soleil -- the duo regrouped in the studio to work on their second album. The disco-pop Ice on the Dune was released in early summer of 2013, after which the band toured the world. In late 2014, two new songs, "Tonight" and "Wandering Star," appeared on the soundtrack to the movie Dumb and Dumber To. They spent a large chunk of the next year writing and recording their third album in Los Angeles and Hawaii, welcoming guests like Lindsey Buckingham, members of David Bowie's band from the Blackstar sessions, and Wendy Melvoin from Prince & the Revolution. Two Vines was issued in October 2016, climbing into the Australian Top Ten and peaking just outside the Billboard Top 50. A year later, they released the On Our Way Home EP, which featured the title track plus additional B-sides and remixes.

In 2019, the duo marked the tenth anniversary of their breakthrough debut with a special edition reissue that was packaged with a new song, "Chrysalis."

R&B singer August Alsina spent the first several years of his life in New Orleans, Louisiana but his mother moved his family to Houston, Texas to gain distance from the troubled lives led by his crack-addicted father and stepfather. In 2007, as a young teenager, Alsina uploaded covers of songs by Musiq Soulchild and Lyfe Jennings, which racked up thousands of views on YouTube. His home situation deteriorated, and he moved back to New Orleans, where he turned to dealing drugs. The shooting death of his brother was a wake-up call; motivated to develop his talent as a singer, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia and recorded a 2012 mixtape, The Product, which featured Lloyd on the track "Sucka."

Early in 2013, Alsina released "I Luv This Shit" as the first single from his second mixtape, The Product 2. An EP, Downtown: Life Under the Gun, followed in August 2013. "I Luv This Shit" subsequently peaked at number 13 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart and crossed into the Hot 100, where it reached number 48. Alsina's proper debut album, Testimony, was released in April 2014. It featured appearances from Rick Ross, Pusha T, and Fabolous, and reached number two on the overall albums chart. The same year, he was hospitalized for seizures and was diagnosed with a degenerative eye disease, but he continued to record. This Thing Called Life, his second proper album, was released in December 2015.

Over the next year, Alsina stayed largely quiet, briefly popping up as a guest on DJ Khaled's "Do You Mind" single. In 2017, he reemerged with the singles "Drugs," "Wait," and "Lonely." February 2019 saw Alsina issue the EP Forever and a Day.

"Live @ NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert (From The Archives)" music video by "Weird Al" Yankovic
Added: 28-06-2020

Description : 'Weird Al' Yankovic: NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert From The Archives

We've been filming Tiny Desk concerts for more than 10 years. While revisiting our archives, we discovered that some of our earliest concerts never made it to YouTube!

Stephen Thompson | June 22, 2010

Several generations of nerds can chart the course of their lives against the career trajectory of "Weird Al" Yankovic. For me, his 1984 album In 3-D was the first record I ever owned, and his appearance at the Wausau County Fair in 1985 was the second concert I ever attended. I spent my 17th birthday being driven to the movie theater — by my mother, of course — to watch UHF, Yankovic's debut as a leading man, by myself. (And I mean by myself; my ticket marked a significant percentage of the film's theatrical grosses.) The night before I turned 20, I jumped into a makeshift mosh pit when Yankovic and his band played "Smells Like Nirvana" at a concert; when I staggered back to my seat, winded, it was the first time I'd ever felt old.

Sorry for the self-indulgent reminiscences, but Yankovic has had a profoundly positive impact on my life for nearly 30 years. Not only did he seem like a kindred oddball during that horrible stretch of adolescence when everyone feels like their pants are falling down at all times; he also taught me to look at pop music in a different way — to take it apart, analyze it, laugh at the cliches and put it back together in funny and playful ways. He took my youthful obsession with pop music and fed it like no one else.

Last fall, I was honored to write the liner notes to a two-disc greatest-hits package called The Essential "Weird Al" Yankovic, in which I laid out the case for the man's enshrinement in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. More than three decades of pop-cultural relevance, during which time many of the stars he parodied came and went. Twelve million albums sold, with the highest-charting one (2006's Straight Outta Lynwood) arriving more than a quarter of a century into his career. A band talented enough to slide seamlessly into dozens of pitch-perfect personae.

But even after all those accomplishments, Yankovic and his band had one milestone yet to reach: They hadn't yet played their first Tiny Desk Concert. For a band accustomed to perfectionism on stage and in the studio — knowing how to get every note right is, after all, a vital component of any good parody — the modest surroundings and single microphone necessitated some adjustment. But in these three Yankovic originals (1988's "Good Old Days," 1992's "You Don't Love Me Anymore" and the new White Stripes pastiche "CNR"), it's remarkable how quickly the singer and his band adjust and thrive. Now can they get into the Hall of Fame?

Set List:
"You Don't Love Me Anymore"
"Good Old Days"
"CNR"

Swedish death metal band Necrophobic were formed in 1989 by drummer Joakim Sterner and guitarist David Parland. The pair played with a revolving-door lineup of musicians before the permanent addition of guitarist Martin Halfbahn prior to recording their debut album, The Nocturnal Silence, in 1993. Following the addition of vocalist/bassist Tobias Sidegard, Necrophobic released the four-song Spawned by Evil in 1996 as a teaser for the full-length release Darkside, which bowed later that same year. Third Antichrist was released in fall 2000 through Black Mark Records, but it marked the fourth release from the group to be mishandled by their U.S. distributors. A switch to Hammerheart Records led to Bloodhymns, the first of their traditional death metal releases to see American shores through the label. Hrimthursum arrived in 2006 via Regain Records/Candlelight USA, with the critically acclaimed Death to All dropping in 2009 -- Satanic Blasphemies, a compilation of the band's early material, was released the year prior. Necrophobic continued to flex their blackened death metal muscles in 2013 on the full-length Womb of Lilithu, and again in 2018 with the release of the triumphant Mark of the Necrogram, their first outing for Century Media.

Dixie Chicks - "Home (Album Stream)" [Country, Album Streams]

Home (Album Stream)

"Home (Album Stream)" music video by Dixie Chicks
Added: 28-06-2020
Genre : Country, Album Streams
Description :

Home is the sixth studio album by American country band Dixie Chicks, released on August 8, 2002, through Monument and Columbia Records. It is notable for its acoustic bluegrass sound, which stands in contrast with their previous two country pop albums.

The group was promoting the album when lead singer Natalie Maines made controversial comments about U.S. President George W. Bush criticizing his role in the 2003 invasion of Iraq. The album's third single, "Travelin' Soldier", was #1 on the Billboard Country Chart the week that Maines' comments hit the press. The following week, as many stations started a still-standing boycott of the Chicks' music, the song collapsed. None of their following singles gained traction with country radio. Despite these events, the album was certified 6× Multi-platinum status by the RIAA and has sold 5,979,000 copies in the United States up to November 2008. The album also featured a cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide", which was their biggest pop crossover hit until 2007, when "Not Ready to Make Nice" peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album was also successful in Australia, in its 175th week in the country charts it was certified Triple Platinum for shipments of 210,000 copies.

The album was nominated at the 45th Grammy Awards for six awards, including their second attempt for Album of the Year. The group went home with four in 2003, including Best Country Album, Best Recording Package, Best Country Instrumental Performance for "Lil' Jack Slade", and Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal for "Long Time Gone". Additionally, they were nominated for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical and Darrell Scott was nominated for Best Country Song for Long Time Gone. Two years later, they were nominated and won Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal, this time for "Top of the World". It debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart and stayed there for four non-consecutive weeks. It also debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums, and stayed there for 12 non-consecutive weeks.
