Formerly known as Lil Herb, G Herbo relates his experiences in coarsely grained, urgent, and often pained form as one of Chicago's noted drill artists. He represents his city's South Shore neighborhood -- more specifically, an area nicknamed Terror Town. He debuted with Welcome to Fazoland in 2014, later rising on the Billboard 200 with 2017's Humble Beast and 2018's Swervo.

In February 2020, Herbo released his fourth studio album, PTSD. The star-studded project featured cameos from Lil Uzi Vert, Polo G, Juice WRLD, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, and many others and peaked at number seven on Billboard's Top 200 chart. Herbo said much of the album's content came out of therapy sessions he underwent trying to sort through his troubled upbringing.

Description : Split Enz - Bold As Brass (Official Music Video)

Split Enz - Dizrythmia (2020 Remaster) out now digitally!

Dizrythmia (1977) is the third album released by New Zealand new wave band, Split Enz. It was the first Split Enz album without co-founding members Phil Judd and Mike Chunn. Neil Finn and Nigel Griggs, the first being the younger brother of band leader Tim Finn, replaced them respectively. Meanwhile, Nigel's old friend and former bandmate Malcolm Green took the place of Emlyn Crowther who also left around this time. The album was released domestically by Mushroom Records, and overseas by Chrysalis Records.

The single "My Mistake" was a hit in New Zealand and Australia, but failed to make much impact overseas. "Bold as Brass" was the second single. The album is regarded as the start of the band's breakthrough, and marked a shift from art rock to more pop-oriented songs.

The album's title comes from circadian dysrhythmia, more commonly known as jet lag.

The back cover was originally intended as the front cover. Both were designed by Noel Crombie, who also designed the band's costumes.

Tim Finn coughs forty-four seconds into "Nice To Know", a feature erroneously left in the final mix.

Both Tim Finn and Eddie Rayner were disappointed with the final mix of "Charlie" feeling that the vocals sounded very flat. Geoff Emerick, the engineer for the album thought it was a beautiful vocal, however, so it stayed.

Pre-order '12th House Rock' and Narrow Head merch:

Dir: Dwayne Cathey

“Nobody has riffs anymore,” says founding member/vocalist/guitarist Jacob Duarte when asked about his approach on 12th House Rock, Narrow Head’s highly anticipated LP for Run for Cover due on August 28. “That’s the kind of band we are and to me, that’s just how you write songs. Drums, bass, guitar, vocals. Nothing else. There are no other instruments on the record.”

The Houston-based band’s latest entry is the distillation of the greatest moments in 90’s alternative and hard rock with a fresh set of ears, thirteen tracks of their signature brand of bludgeoning lullabies bursting at the seams with creative ideas, new directions and yes, massive, monolithic riffs. In between the sparkle and smash, open-hearted and emotionally naked songwriting showcases a core piece of the band’s identity– showcasing 12th House Rock as one of the best releases of 2020. “It’s the definitive work of Narrow Head,” proudly explains bassist Ryan Chavez. “Recorded in a studio over a month’s span, the way they used to do it. Not just for the sake of making it that way, but because it was the right way for us.”

Delving into deep-seated themes of self loathing, desolation, self-medication, the loss of loved ones and hopeful redemption,12th House Rock is, as the title suggests, a rock-focused LP themed on transition– exploring the vast abyss of darkness just before the sun cracks upon the horizon. “A lot of the record was made in the late hours and early morning,” recalls Duarte. ”Those quiet moments alone when utter silence and my self-medication made it impossible to escape from my own thoughts. It was also from a specific time when I didn’t take care of myself and made bad decisions in all aspects of my life. These songs were a way out, temporarily anyway.”

Duarte references specific songs on the record as touchstones within that dark period. “’Emmadazey’ and ‘Hard to Swallow’ were inspired by pharmaceuticals and when the people around you know that you’re making bad decisions but are afraid to tell you,” he reveals. “’Crankcase. is about staying up for days at a time, not eating and chain smoking.” Guitarist William Menjivar is also quick to add that “’Ponderosa’ is about big life choices and the empty feelings of ‘What if?’ thinking about whether or not your decision was the right one. In the end it doesn’t matter because you can never take it back.” Yet while all the songs follow explore the darkness, Menjivar adds emphatically that 12th House Rock “does have moments of optimism and sentimentality, so it’s not a completely dark record. Nostalgia is also something we want people to feel when they listen to this.”

Rising from the Texas underground scene, Narrow Head formed in 2013 but became fully realized as a band in Houston with the release of their 2016 debut LP Satisfaction and the lineup of Duarte, Menjivar and drummer Carson Wilcox. Playing in the Texas scene instilled a can-do attitude, an ability to explore several different ideas along with a strong set of DIY ethics, qualities that still form the basis of the band to this day. “Book your own shows, book your own tours,” details Duarte about the foundation of his musical viewpoint. ”I think that having other musical projects provided a scene for us to play too. Nobody else was looking at us, so we had to make our own scene.”

The band’s second and highly-anticipated LP 12th House Rock was self-produced and born of close to a hundred takes with no click track, vocal correction, drum samples or quantizing, resulting in thirteen testaments to pulverizing pop clocking in above 50 minutes. Initially only Duarte, Menjivar and Wilcox in 2018, the trio of old friends entered the studio with a batch of songs intending to write bass parts on the fly. “I have known Jacob and Carson since childhood and they are the most talented musicians– total prodigies,” states Menjivar. The three looked to build an LP that reflected current tastes as well as “music [they] looked up to as kids,” according to Menjivar, adding their own twist on the entirety of it.

Though the primary trio was present throughout the entire cycle, fate would intervene on bass as the undeniable chemistry between the band and then strictly producer Ryan Chavez led to his inclusion in Narrow Head. “Once we got in the studio and started recording demos for the album, I got along with them well and felt full of ideas on how to play bass for certain tracks,” explains Chavez. The newly minted four piece would handle the bulk of the remainder of the LP, bringing in Erica Miller of Big Bite/Casual Hex, vocalist/lyricist on “Delano Door,” and mastering guru Sarah Register to put the final touches on the record. Guitarist Kora Puckett (Bugg, ex-Sheer Mag), who previously logged hours as a live member in the tours preceding the LP, would join Narrow Head as a full-fledged member following the LP’s completion.

Using distorted guitars as their primary vehicle, Narrow Head’s wall of riffs add stark contrast to their best quality– deceptively sweet pop melodies that channel the lessons of My Bloody Valentine, Cocteau Twins, Helmet, Deftones and Guided by Voices all at once. “Distortion provides a harmonic sound that feels like static texture,” details Duarte. “It feels smooth while being loud and noisy at the same time. But some of our favorite bands don’t use distortion– all music inspires us. Loud rock is only the first part of our formula– this record is our take on music we like from the last 20 years.”

Yet despite whatever comparisons that can be made to guitar tone, mood, songwriting, timbre or virtually anything else, Narrow Head are quick to credit their native Houston, TX as the primary source for it all. “Houston is the greatest city on earth,” says Duarte emphatically. “People who know, know. In Houston, you have to give people a reason to pay attention to you.” With 12th House Rock, not only will Narrow Head have Houston’s attention, but the entire rock world as well.

Fast forward to 9:03 for the start of the show.

Singer and songwriter Allen Stone describes himself as "a hippie with soul," and his music reflects both sides of this formula. His vocals and melodic style show the clear influence of classic soul and R&B of the '60s and '70s, while his lyrics reveal an idealism and passion that recall the folk-inspired singer/songwriters of the same era. It's a combination that helped his independently produced debut album, 2011's Allen Stone, crack the Top 40 of Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. He further honed his style, adopting a mix of contemporary and '90s R&B influences on 2015's Radius.

The artist-friendly ATO Records label signed Stone in 2012 and reissued his eponymous album in the summer of that year. He then signed to the Capitol label and worked extensively with fellow singer and songwriter Tingsek. The result, Radius, featuring the single "Perfect World," was released in May 2015. The album peaked at number 80 on the Billboard 200 Chart. A year later, Stone delivered a deluxe version of the album featuring seven additional tracks. In 2018, he released the single "Brown Eyed Lover" and appeared on American Idol singing a duet version of his original song "Unaware" with contestant Dennis Lorenzo. "Brown Eyed Lover" also served as the lead-off track to his fourth full-length album, 2019's Building Balance. Co-produced with Jamie Lidell, the album found Stone embracing a mix of '70s soul and '90s New Jack Swing-influenced sounds.

Leos Janacek baptised Leo Eugen Janacek; 3 July 1854 – 12 August 1928) was a Czech composer, musical theorist, folklorist, publicist and teacher. He was inspired by Moravian and other Slavic folk music to create an original, modern musical style.

Until 1895 he devoted himself mainly to folkloristic research. While his early musical output was influenced by contemporaries such as Antonín Dvorak, his later, mature works incorporate his earlier studies of national folk music in a modern, highly original synthesis, first evident in the opera Jenufa, which was premiered in 1904 in Brno. The success of Jenufa (often called the "Moravian national opera") at Prague in 1916 gave Janacek access to the world's great opera stages. Janacek's later works are his most celebrated. They include operas such as Ká?a Kabanová and The Cunning Little Vixen, the Sinfonietta, the Glagolitic Mass, the rhapsody Taras Bulba, two string quartets, and other chamber works. Along with Antonín Dvorak and Bedrich Smetana, he is considered one of the most important Czech composers.

Heidi Parviainen states:
””Illuminate” is the name of the second ’orb’ that the protagonist Luna finds. It is a magical purple orb to summon the powers of wind and the moon. Luna asks the moon to illuminate her and to revive her magic powers to fight against the darkness upon the city of Grim.”

A Finnish symphonic metal outfit founded and fronted by lyric soprano Heidi Parviainen, Dark Sarah came into existence in late 2012, shortly after Parviainen left her previous job as the lead singer for Amberian Dawn. The group's 2013 debut album, Behind the Black Veil, offered up a compelling blend of shredding and musical theater, and a narrative that revolved around a woman left at the altar and her transformation into a force of vengeance. 2016's The Puzzle continued the narrative, which reached its conclusion in 2018 with arrival of The Golden Moth. Dark Sarah began a new storyline in 2020 with the release of their fourth full-length effort, Grim, their first outing for Napalm Records.

The Violin Sonata No. 9, Op. 47 in A major, by Ludwig van Beethoven, is a sonata for piano and violin notable for its technical difficulty, unusual length (around 40 minutes), and emotional scope.

After its successful premiere in 1803 the work was published in 1805 as Beethoven's Op. 47, with its re-dedication to Rudolphe Kreutzer, which gave the composition its nickname. Kreutzer never performed the work, considering it "outrageously unintelligible". He did not particularly care for any of Beethoven's music, and they only ever met once, briefly.[

Devildriver - "Iona" [Metal & X-Core]

"Iona" music video by Devildriver
Added: 01-07-2020
Genre : Metal & X-Core
Description : DEVILDRIVER - Iona (Official Video) | Napalm Records

Pre-order "Dealing With Demons I" here:

out October 9th

Frontman Dez Fafara says about “Iona” and the demons that inspired the track:
"Iona is unlike any other DEVILDRIVER song we’ve put out. From the frantic verses to the haunting chorus, this song is another move forward to push our sound and the listener's ears into the fray! The chorus, “she carries a black rose, effigy from a story closed", tells the story of the long dead ghost of Iona and her obsession with death represented by the black roses in her hands – each one the soul of someone she’s taken from this life on a lonely dark road, assimilating their souls into black roses, which she carries for eternity.
This theme relates to myself and “Dealing With Demons” in that, often times, we as people have a hard time “letting go” of things. This can be applied to relationships, death, and so on. Iona carrying the black roses symbolizes her inability to move on – always seeking revenge. The past is exactly that – the past – it’s important to let go and not be stuck in a perpetual loop of living in it."

A punishing groove and melodic death metal unit based out of Santa Barbara, California, DevilDriver originally operated under the moniker Deathride, before a copyright issue forced them to adopt a new name. Co-founded by Coal Chamber vocalist Dez Fafara, who remains the group lone original member, the band debuted in 2002, but didn't truly catch fire until the release of 2007's Last Kind Words, which heralded a string of high-charting albums like Pray for Villains (2009), Winter Kills (2013), and Trust No One (2016). Despite enduring numerous personnel shifts, the band maintained a lean, loud, and punitive sonic attack that made them one of the more reliable heavy music purveyors of the 2000s and 2010s.

A softly-emotive singer, Olivia Devine (aka L Devine) makes hooky, often dance-oriented pop that retains the relatable vulnerability of more folk-oriented performers. Following her self-posted songs, Devine emerged to wider fame in 2017 with her debut EP Growing Pains.

Born in 1997 and raised in Whitley Bay near Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Devine became interested in music at a young age. By her teens she was posting songs online including a cover of Beyonce's "Mine," which caught the attention of producer Mickey Valen, who encouraged her work. Subsequently, she relocated to London where she and Valen produced her debut EP, 2017's Growing Pains. Included was the single "School Girls," which found an audience online and drew favorable comparisons to artists like Robyn, Dua Lipa, and Tove Lo. She returned in 2018 with a second EP, Peer Pressure, featuring the track "Nervous." A standalone single, "Naked Alone," arrived in May 2019.
