Description : Split Enz- "Late Last Night" Colour version. 1976

The full colour version of Split Enz LATE LAST NIGHT (March 1976).

-

From their 1976 album "Second Thoughts".

Second Thoughts is a 1976 album by New Zealand art rock band Split Enz. It was recorded in London with Roxy Music's guitarist Phil Manzanera producing the album. Four of the songs on the album were reworked versions of songs from their 1975 debut album Mental Notes. Two other songs on the album had been first recorded during the Mental Notes sessions, but left off and re-recorded for Second Thoughts. There were two new songs, both written by Phil Judd, and a re-recording of an early Judd/Finn composition ("129"), which for the Second Thoughts version, was renamed "Matinee Idyll".

Tim Finn, Robert Gillies and Eddie Rayner have said that the band felt the songs needed to be redone. But both Phil Judd and Noel Crombie have been quoted as saying that the re-recording of the Mental Notes tracks was a waste of time. On his MySpace forum Phil has been quoted as saying that Tim Finn was obsessed with making the songs sound better, while he had new songs that he wanted to record.

Resplendent in Bob Mackie freaked-out formal wear and purple wig, Elton concluded his “Tour de Force” of Australia with a powerful performance of 31 songs, just three weeks before enduring throat surgery. If this was to be his last concert, he was going out in style (he has, in fact, performed over 3,000 shows since). In this case, that means expanding a 5-minute song into a 12-minute master class in musicality and showmanship. The original single charted at #1 in the US in 1974.

East Atlanta-based rapper Big Havi writes introspective songs about his life experiences, particularly his struggles with friendships and relationships. Switching between hard rapping and Auto-Tuned singing, he first achieved success in 2019 with his acoustic guitar-driven trap single "9 Times Out of 10."

Big Havi grew up in a single parent household in East Atlanta. He knew he wanted to be a rapper when he was three years old, so he started honing his skills at an early age. In 2018, while he was still a teenager, he appeared on B.o.B's album NAGA and released the solo track "Same Shxt," which received some online attention. After releasing a few additional songs and freestyles, he made an impact with his 2019 single "9 Time Out of 10," issued by Commission Records.

Silvestre Revueltas Sánchez (December 31, 1899 – October 5, 1940) was a Mexican composer of classical music, a violinist and a conductor.

Homenaje a Federico García Lorca (Homage to Federico García Lorca) is a work for chamber orchestra by the Mexican composer Silvestre Revueltas.

On 19 August 1936, the Spanish poet Federico García Lorca was murdered by fascist militia forces. Outraged, along with many other intellectuals and artists, in October Revueltas composed Homenaje a Federico García Lorca, one of his most important works, which was premiered on 14 November 1936 conducted by the composer (Hernández 2009, 18–19; Slonimsky 1945, 250). It was given its first Spanish performance at the Salón de Actos de la Asociación de Amigos de Mexico in Madrid on 17 September 1937

The work is scored for a chamber orchestra of piccolo, E? clarinet, two trumpets, trombone, tuba, tamtam, xylophone, piano, two violins, and double bass. The absence of low woodwinds, violas, and cellos produces a sound meant to evoke a Mexican village band, or the sound of Indian music

The Variations on a Rococo Theme, Op. 33, for cello and orchestra was the closest Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky ever came to writing a full concerto for cello and orchestra. The style was inspired by Mozart, Tchaikovsky's role model, and makes it clear that Tchaikovsky admired the Classical style very much. However, the Theme is not Rococo in origin, but actually an original theme in the Rococo style.

Tchaikovsky wrote this piece for and with the help of Wilhelm Fitzenhagen, a German cellist and fellow-professor at the Moscow Conservatory. Fitzenhagen gave the premiere in Moscow on November 30, 1877, with Nikolai Rubinstein conducting. This was perhaps the only hearing of the Variations as Tchaikovsky wrote the piece, until 1941, when it was played in Moscow without Fitzenhagen's by-then-standard emendations.

The piece is scored for a reduced orchestra consisting of pairs of each of the four basic woodwind instruments, two horns and the usual strings, like the typical late 18th-century orchestra without trumpets or percussion.

A singer/songwriter, film composer, and pianist based in Montreal, Canada, Patrick Watson makes explorative chamber pop with his band -- also called Patrick Watson -- often blending spare indie pop, synthesizer experiments, cinematic orchestral song, and a melancholy tone. The group's second album, 2006's Close to Paradise, won the Polaris Prize. After composing music for several short films, Watson made his feature-length debut with It's Not Me, I Swear! in 2008. Released in 2015, Love Songs for Robots became his band's fourth straight album to reach Canada's Top Ten, and he found success again in 2019 with the arrival of his sixth long-player Wave.

“In the video for “Looking Down the Barrel of a Gun,” we hoped to capture the energy of the song in our own way. The circular shots are a bit of a nod to the Beastie’s love for using a fisheye lens in so many of their videos. A sense of ‘dark psychedelia’ also comes through in the distorted, stretchy elements. For the shots of Jonah, we used this old broadcast camera (lent to us by Zach Pyles - Thank you Zach!). So those parts were recorded onto a VHS tape and played back on a monitor and digitized. All the digital parts were done on my Canon 5D Mk II, so the whole thing was a pretty barebones setup without any fancy equipment. We shot this during a pandemic, and we’re all still waist deep in global crisis - so I feel grateful that we were able to get good results during a time where video production can be especially challenging.”

Atlanta-based singer and songwriter Mattiel crafts sunbaked rock & roll with a retro vibe that harks back to '60s garage rock and a blues-rock edge similar to early White Stripes. That spirit was helped along on her 2017 eponymous debut by recording it live in the studio with a band.

Mattiel Brown spent much of her early life on a farm in Georgia, where she would learn how to play guitar and ride horses, among other daily tasks that come with farm life. Eventually, she moved to Atlanta, where she got a job working as a web designer and illustrator. Soon after, Brown met Randy Michael and Jonah Swilley and bonded with them over their taste in music. She sent them some demos; they were impressed by her voice and asked her to perform live with their band Black Linen. Both multi-instrumentalists, Michael and Swilley were also the co-owners of a songwriting and production team named InCrowd, and when Brown put forward the idea of fronting her own musical act, they were keen to help. By 2017, their rough concepts had turned into fully fledged songs, leading to nine months of recording with a full in-house band. InCrowd also had connections with Burger Records, which upon hearing her music, signed her for first album Mattiel. It was released in late 2017. Heavenly Recording struck a deal to issue the album in the U.K. and Europe, where it arrived in mid-2018.

Mattiel toured in support of the release, including a handful of dates opening for Portugal. The Man and appearances at several major European festivals. In August 2018, Mattiel returned to the studio with Michael and Swilley to record a set of fresh songs. The result was the six-song EP Customer Copy, released by Burger Records in December 2018.

In 2019, Mattiel moved to ATO Records, and she worked with Michael and Swilley again on her second full-length, Satis Factory, which saw release that June.

A shape-shifting and musically adept American, German, and Swedish hard rock unit that skillfully blends elements of classical, gothic/doom metal, progressive rock, and symphonic metal, Kamelot came to be in 1992 in Tampa, Florida. Founded by multi-instrumentalist Thomas Youngblood, the band has endured numerous lineup changes throughout its existence, with Youngblood serving as the sole consistent member (Norwegian vocalist Roy Sætre Khantatat, better known as Roy Khan, had the second longest tenure, serving as frontman and co-writer from 1997 to 2011). Kamelot issued their debut album, Eternity, via Noise Records in 1995, and stayed with the label through their next five offerings, Dominion (1997), Siége Perilous (1998), The Fourth Legacy (1999), Karma (2001), and Epica (2003), before inking a deal with the Sony-distributed German independent SPV/Steamhammer for their seventh long-player, The Black Halo. Released in 2007, Ghost Opera found its way into the Billboard Top 200 via the Top Heatseekers chart, while 2010's Poetry for the Poisoned, 2012's ambitious Silverthorn, 2015's Haven, and 2018's epic The Shadow Theory helped to firmly establish the band as one of contemporary power metal's most enduring acts.

Sergei Prokofiev began work on his Symphony No. 1 in D major (Op. 25) in 1916, but wrote most of it in 1917, finishing work on September 10. It is written in loose imitation of the style of Haydn (and to a lesser extent, Mozart), and is widely known as the Classical Symphony, a name given to it by the composer. It premiered on April 21, 1918 in Petrograd, conducted by Prokofiev himself, and has become one of his most popular works.

The symphony is composed in a style based on that of Joseph Haydn, but does not follow Haydn strictly (for example, its use of modulation is much freer), and it does not contain any quotations from Haydn. Thus it can be considered to be one of the first neoclassical compositions. The work was partly inspired by his conducting studies at the Saint Petersburg Conservatory, where the instructor, Nikolai Tcherepnin, taught his students about conducting Haydn, among other composers.

Prokofiev wrote the symphony on holiday in the country, using it as an exercise in composing away from the piano.
