Description : Elton John - Sad Songs (Say So Much) (Live At Arena Di Verona, Italy / 1989)

The 15,000 fans in the audience at Arena Di Verona on April 26, 1989 were magically transported from a 1st Century Roman amphitheater to a gospel church in the Deep South, as Elton placed his trio of backing vocalists front and centre for “Sad Songs (Say So Much)”. Mortonette Jenkins, Marlena Jeter, and Kudisan Kai each take a turn to trade phrases with Elton, before the 8-piece band come in, turning the track into an 8-minute blues-rock stomper.

Rod McKuen - "Amor, Amor (TopPop)" [Pop]

Amor, Amor (TopPop)

"Amor, Amor (TopPop)" music video by Rod McKuen
Added: 15-07-2020
Genre : Pop
Description : Rod McKuen - Amor, Amor • TopPop

Rodney Marvin McKuen (April 29, 1933 - Beverly Hills, January 29, 2015) was an American poet, singer-songwriter, composer, and actor.

In the late 1960s and early 1970s, he was the most popular and best-selling poet in America.

In 1971 he suddenly became extremely popular in the Netherlands, partly due to his performance in the TV program 'Voor de vuist weg' by Willem Duys.

In the Veronica Top 40 he had two number 1 hits in a row, first with the anti-war song 'Soldiers Who Want To Be Heroes' and then with 'Without a Worry in the World' (composed to the melody of the song 'Le Métèque' by French chansonnier Georges Moustaki). This single reached no. 2 in the Dutch Top 40.

The compilation album Greatest Hits Vol. 3 was nr.1 of the LP top 50 in Holland for weeks. On October 17, 1971 he recorded the album The Amsterdam Concert, a recording of his live performance in the Concertgebouw.

This single 'Amor, amor' reached #10 in the Dutch Top 40 on 6 May 1978

This Toppop film was recorded in New York. For trips abroad the Toppop crew carries an inflatable Toppop logo to make sure that it could be featured in the recording.

This video was first broadcast on 29 April 1978.

Fun-loving yet not too proud to write about inner conflict, amiable Coastal California rapper Kyle hit multiple countries' Top Ten charts countries in 2013 as the featured artist on Martin Solveig and the Cataracs' "Hey Now." As he independently built a sizeable following, he truly hit his commercial stride a few years later with "iSpy." Featuring an assist from the then-emergent Lil Yachty, the single reached number four on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2017 and achieved multi-platinum status just before the headliner was selected for XXL magazine's annual Freshman Class feature. Light of Mine, Kyle's full-length debut for major-label Atlantic, arrived the following year and reached the Top 30 of the Billboard 200.

In 2020, he issued the singles "YES!," with Rich the Kid and K Camp, and "What It Is."

Jarad Anthony Higgins (December 2, 1998 – December 8, 2019), known professionally as Juice Wrld (pronounced "juice world"; stylized as Juice WRLD), was an American rapper, singer, and songwriter from Chicago, Illinois. His song "Lucid Dreams" has been played on the music streaming platform Spotify over one billion times. "Lucid Dreams" along with his earlier hit single "All Girls Are the Same" helped him gain a recording contract with Lil Bibby's Grade A Productions and Interscope Records.

"All Girls Are the Same" and "Lucid Dreams" were two of five singles that were included in Higgins' debut studio album Goodbye & Good Riddance (2018), which went on to become certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on December 5, 2018. The album enjoyed positive critical reception, and contained three other singles: "Armed and Dangerous", "Lean wit Me" and "Wasted", all of which charted on the Billboard Hot 100. After collaborating with Future on the mixtape Wrld on Drugs (2018), Higgins released his second studio album Death Race for Love (2019), which went to number one on the Billboard 200.[9]

Higgins died on December 8, 2019, after suffering a seizure at Midway International Airport. His death prompted an outpouring of grief across social media and the music industry. His first posthumous album, Legends Never Die, was released on July 10, 2020.

Full Concert Performance of Ronnie Hawkins live at Hamilton Place, Ontario in 1988

Ronald Hawkins, OC, (born January 10, 1935) is an American/Canadian rock and roll musician whose career has spanned more than half a century. His career began in Arkansas, where he was born and raised. He found success in Ontario, Canada, and has lived there for most of his life. He is considered highly influential in the establishment and evolution of rock music in Canada.

Also known as "Rompin' Ronnie", "Mr. Dynamo", or simply "The Hawk", he was one of the key players in the 1960s rock scene in Toronto. Throughout his career, Hawkins has performed all across North America and recorded more than twenty-five albums. His hit songs included covers of Chuck Berry's "Thirty Days" (entitled "Forty Days" by Hawkins) and Young Jessie's "Mary Lou", a song about a "gold-digging woman". Other well-known recordings are "Who Do You Love?", "Hey Bo Diddley", and "Susie Q", which was written by his cousin, rockabilly artist Dale Hawkins.

Hawkins is also notable for his role as a talent scout and mentor of musicians he recruited for his band the Hawks. Roy Buchanan was an early Hawks guitarist on the song "Who Do You Love". The most successful example were the musicians who left him to form The Band. Other musicians Hawkins had recruited went on to form Robbie Lane and the Disciples, Janis Joplin's Full Tilt Boogie Band, Crowbar, Bearfoot, and Skylark.

Men Without Hats - "Where Do The Boys Go" [Pop]

Where Do The Boys Go

"Where Do The Boys Go" music video by Men Without Hats
Added: 15-07-2020
Genre : Pop
Description : Men Without Hats - Where Do The Boys Go (Official Music Video)

The new wave synth pop collective Men Without Hats were formed in 1980 by brothers Ivan and Stefan Doroschuk. Ivan was the leader of the group, writing the majority of the songs and providing the lead vocals; Stefan was the guitarist; and other members changed frequently throughout the course of the group's career. They independently released their debut EP, Folk of the '80s, in 1980; it was reissued the following year by Stiff in Britain. During 1982, the band consisted of Ivan, Stefan, another brother Colin Doroschuk (keyboards), along with drummer Allan McCarthy; this is the lineup that recorded Men Without Hats' 1982 debut album, Rhythm of Youth. Taken from their debut, the single "The Safety Dance" became a major hit, peaking on the American charts at number three in 1983. Driven by an insistent three-chord synthesizer riff, the song was one of the biggest synth pop hits of the new wave era. The group wasn't able to exploit its success, however. Folk of the '80s (Part III) stalled at number 127 on the charts in America and made even less of an impact in other parts of the world. Thanks to the minor-hit title track, 1987's Pop Goes the World was a bigger success, yet it didn't recapture the audience their first album had gained. Released two years later, The Adventures of Women & Men Without Hate in the 21st Century failed to chart, as did its follow-up, 1991's Sideways. The two albums' lack of success effectively put an end to Men Without Hats' career.

-

Folk of the 80s (Part III) is the second studio album by Canadian synthpop group Men Without Hats, released in early 1984. The album reached #127 on the U.S. Billboard 200 albums chart. It was the band's final album with the lineup consisting of Ivan Doroschuk (vocals), Stefan Doroschuk (guitar), Colin Doroschuk (keyboards) and Allan McCarthy (keyboards).

During the recording process, "The Safety Dance" became big in America, requiring the band to put recording on hold and do a tour.

This album was re-released on CD in Canada in 1997 by Oglio Records as part of a "two-fer" including Rhythm of Youth.

It was also re-mastered and re-released in Canada in 2010 by Bulldog Brothers/Unidisc. In addition to the tracks on the LP, it also contains an extended version of "Where Do The Boys Go?". The extended version of "Where Do the Boys Go?" was intended to be used on the original CD release by Statik in 1984, but was left off.

2020 Dirty Hit

-

Known for her soft, lo-fi folk sound, London's Bea Regner, aka Beabadoobee, first emerged online with her sweetly attenuated 2017 viral single "Coffee." Only 17 at the time, she signed with the Dirty Hit label, which issued her second EP, Patched Up, in 2018.

Born in London to Filipino parents, Regner first became interested in music around age seven, and grew up listening to a mix of OPM (Filipino traditional and modern original music compositions and '80s pop/rock. By her teens she had discovered indie rock and was listening to artists like Kimya Dawson, Karen O & Yeah Yeah Yeahs, (Sandy) Alex G, and Florist, as well as the Beatles and Chet Baker. In 2017, at age 17, she received her first guitar and quickly taught herself how to play by watching tutorial videos online. That same year, she recorded her song "Coffee" in a friend's bedroom, and uploaded it online. A mellow ditty inspired by her relationship with her then-boyfriend, the song went viral, with its video getting over 300,000 views, and gaining even more hits on streaming services. The labels took notice, and Bea issued her debut EP Lice on Columbia before signing with the independent Dirty Hit (home to the 1975, Pale Waves, and Wolf Alice). In 2018, she issued a second EP, Patched Up. Another EP, Loveworm, arrived in April 2019, followed several months later by the single "She Plays Bass."

Dallas rapper Erica Banks exudes confidence and cockiness, approaching minimal trap beats with a variety of powerful flows. Before signing with 1501 Certified Entertainment, she worked independently on projects like 2019's The Art of the Hustle.

Banks grew up outside of Dallas, Texas, and gravitated towards poetry early in life. Shortly after entering college with plans to complete a nursing program, Banks shifted her focus to pursing a musical career. She parlayed her lifelong interest in poetry into rapping and began making original songs around 2018. Early singles like "Thousand" and "NO Hook" led to the 2019 EP The Art of the Hustle, and two other mixtapes were released independently that same year, Pressure and Cocky on Purpose. The buzz growing around the rapper in the Texas area led to a signing with the 1501 Certified Entertainment label in 2020. The club-themed single "Buss It" would be the first song Banks released with the label, arriving in May of that year.

A sleek-toned indie pop band with a warm West Coast sound, lovelytheband broke through in 2017 with the single "Broken." The song took off online, and by the following year they had landed on top of the Billboard Alternative Songs Airplay chart.

Formed in West Hollywood in 2016, lovelytheband feature former Oh Honey member Mitchy Collins along with guitarist Jordan Greenwald and drummer Sam Price. The band debuted in July 2017 with the Christian Medice-produced "Broken," a sprightly and infectious single that quickly racked up over three million digital streams. Signing with Another Century Records, lovelytheband released their debut EP, Everything I Could, in September of that year and joined Vance Joy and AWOLNATION on tour. In April 2018, "Broken" was still going strong and hit number one on the Billboard Alternative Songs Airplay chart. That August, lovelytheband returned with their full-length debut album, Finding It Hard to Smile. Once again produced by longtime collaborator Christian Medice, the album included "Broken" as well as the single "These Are My Friends."
