Merging dense clouds of post-punk guitar with songs that are straightforward, angry, and brutally honest, Low Life are an Australian band who value the philosophy of punk without being tied down to its stylistic templates. Emerging from the Sydney garage rock scene alongside bands like Total Control and Royal Headache, Low Life's songs start out physical and elemental, but once the band adds layers of guitars and keyboards over the top, the music gains a weight and heft that only adds to its power. The group first made an impression on the Australian punk scene with 2014's Dogging, cut with the group's initial three-piece lineup, and after a recording layoff, Low Life expanded to a quintet for 2019's Downer Edn, which boasted a bigger, more nuanced and multi-layered sound while still maintaining the angry but foggy quality of their earlier work.

Gordi - "Live @ Sydney Opera House (Digital Season)" [Pop, Live In Concert]

Live @ Sydney Opera House (Digital Season)

"Live @ Sydney Opera House (Digital Season)" music video by Gordi
Added: 25-07-2020
Genre : Pop, Live In Concert
Description : Gordi (Live) | Digital Season

Australian folk-pop singer and producer Gordi is set to play her official international album launch show for her latest record, Our Two Skins, out this Friday 26 June. Performing a full set with her four-piece band, this special one-off event will be Gordi's debut Opera House performance, recorded and streamed live from the Joan Sutherland Theatre stage.

Our Two Skins chronicles the intense and impossible time Gordi spent renegotiating who she is and how she fits in the world. The writing of the album began after a nervous breakdown while pacing around an Etihad flight from Australia to Europe in late 2017. Sophie Payten, known professionally as Gordi, had finished exams to earn a medical degree and after trading her “nice, safe relationship” for a new one, she began coming to terms with a new truth in her identity. That identity struggle and her new relationship, which played out against the backdrop of the marriage equality plebiscite in Australia.

Gordi's versatility as a musician combined with her open and disarming disposition have helped establish her as an in-demand collaborator. Payten has collaborated with artists including Bon Iver, Alex Somers, Julien Baker, The Tallest Man On Earth, Asgeir, Fleet Foxes and many more, helping shape her artistic voice.

Coming up somewhere between Wiz Khalifa's loose flow and hedonistic lyrics and Lil B's free spirit and love of alternative-flavored beats, Atlanta's Trinidad James went from viral to Def Jam signee, and all in his rookie season. Born Nicholas Williams in Trinidad & Tobago but raised in Atlanta, he was a 24-year-old manager of a downtown streetwear boutique when he decided to try his hand at rapping and become Trinidad James. That was late 2011, and in October of 2012, Trinidad dropped his debut mixtape, Don't Be S.A.F.E., which featured the viral hit "All Gold Everything." In December of that year, as the "All Gold Everything" video passed the three-million-views mark, Def Jam announced their signing of the rapper and released the "All Gold Everything" remix with verses from T.I., Young Jeezy, and 2 Chainz added to the track. The label gave the Don't Be S.A.F.E. mixtape an official release in early 2013. A second mixtape was released later that year. 10 PC Mild featured spots by Travi$ Scott, D4L, Danny Brown, Rich Homie Quan, Gucci Mane, and Childish Gambino.

James continued to drop mixtapes with the Gold Gang label, occupying 2015 with a trio of releases: The Wake Up, No One Is Safe, and Trips to Trinidad. He also appeared on a remix of Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk" and Cash Cash's "The Gun" with Dev and Chrish. In 2016, James returned focus to his own output, dropping the single "Just a Lil' Thick (She Juicy)" with Mystikal and Lil Dicky.

Ledisi was one of R&B's best-kept secrets, a successful and dynamic independent artist with a couple well-regarded albums to her credit, until she reached a new level with Lost & Found (2007). The start of a decade-long association with Verve Forecast and an even lengthier partnership with fellow songwriter/producer Rex Rideout, the album went Top Ten R&B/hip-hop, spawned a handful singles embraced by radio, and led to Grammy nominations for Best New Artist and Best R&B Album. The proper Verve LPs that followed, namely Turn Me Loose (2009), Pieces of Me (2011), The Truth (2014), and Let Love Rule (2017), all deeply rooted in traditional R&B with modern finesse, were met with similar or greater commercial success and routine recognition from the Recording Academy. Ledisi has since returned to independence with "Anything for You" (2020) on her newly launched Listen Back Entertainment label. A versatile performer, she also holds the rare (possibly unique) distinction of having played both Dorothy (in a stage production of The Wiz) and Mahalia Jackson (in Ava DuVernay's Selma).

11 is the eleventh studio album by Canadian singer-songwriter Bryan Adams. The album was released by Polydor Records on March 17, 2008. 11 was the first release of new Adams material since Colour Me Kubrick in 2005 and the first studio album in four years since Room Service. Adams, Jim Vallance, Eliot Kennedy, Gretchen Peters, Trevor Rabin and Robert John "Mutt" Lange received producing and writing credits. Similar to Adams' previous material, the themes in 11 are mainly based on love, romance, and relationships. 11 received generally mixed reviews from contemporary music critics.

Three songs were released from the album in various forms: "I Thought I'd Seen Everything", "Tonight We Have the Stars" and "She's Got a Way", of which all were released internationally. "I Thought I'd Seen Everything" was the only one to have any lasting effects on the music chart, reaching mostly the Top 50, Top 100 and Top 200 in Europe and Canada. Adams was nominated for a Juno Award in the category "Best Artist" in 2009 for this record.

The album peaked within the top ten in eleven territories worldwide, including Canada (with sales just below 10,000 units in its first week), the United Kingdom, Germany, Denmark and Switzerland. 11 charted within the top twenty in three other territories.

Southern California outfit Movements combine post-hardcore passion and emo angst reminiscent of bands like Touche Amore and the Story So Far. Formed in Rancho Santa Margarita, the quartet is comprised of vocalist Patrick Miranda, guitarist Ira George, bassist Austin Cressey, and drummer Spencer York. The group of friends got their start in 2015 with the demo "Protection." After their live debut, they were picked up by Fearless Records, releasing their first EP, Outgrown Things, in 2016. Produced by Will Yip (Tigers Jaw, Title Fight), the short set included the singles "Kept" and "Nineteen." The band rejoined Yip in the studio for their debut full-length, Feel Something, which arrived in 2017. The album topped the Billboard New Artist Albums chart, debuting in the Top Ten of the Alternative Albums listing and within the Top 200 of the overall album chart.

-

Chicago rapper King Von got into his city's drill scene after his fluid storytelling style caught the ear of more-established rapper Lil Durk. Durk signed King Von to his Only the Family label and released his viral 2018 single "Crazy Story," which was included on his debut, Grandson, Vol. 1.

King Von was born Dayvon Bennett on Chicago's South Side and raised in the crime-ridden O Block neighborhood. By his teen years, Bennett had turned to crime himself and would spend years in and out of jail before he began rapping in 2018. After hearing some of his early tracks, Lil Durk took an interest in King Von and welcomed him into the Only the Family collective. His early single "Problems" gained some traction, but it was the captivating narrative of a robbery-turned-shootout on "Crazy Story" that broke through to a larger audience. A video for the song released in late 2018 was streamed over 20 million times. This put King Von on the map and he followed it with the single "Cousins" featuring JusBlow600 in March of the next year. To further his rising career, he relocated from Chicago to Atlanta. His debut effort, Grandson, Vol. 1, landed that September. Featuring Lil Durk on a pair of tracks, the set debuted at 75 on the Billboard 200. The rapper's second set, Levon James, arrived the following March: with a higher-profile list of features including YNW Melly and NLE Choppa, the rapper's second set continued the frantic brag-rap of its predecessor.

"Live While We're Young" is a song by English-Irish boy band One Direction, released as the lead single from their second studio album, Take Me Home (2012). Written by Savan Kotecha and its producers, Rami Yacoub and Carl Falk, the number was released by Syco Records on 28 September 2012. Falk, Kotecha, and Yacoub had collaboratively helmed One Direction's previous hits, "What Makes You Beautiful" and "One Thing". The track is an uptempo, upbeat bubblegum pop song which features rock undertones, vocal harmonies, hand claps, prominent electric guitar riffs, and repetitive synthesizers. The chorus of the song is predominantly featured alongside the bridge, and is backed by wordless chants. Its opening guitar riff bears similarities with the Clash's 1982 single, "Should I Stay or Should I Go".

The track received mostly positive reviews from critics, who centred on its omnipresence and jubilant nature. The only negative feedback the song got was centered on the lyrics, which were interpreted as a thinly veiled euphemism for sexual intercourse. A commercial success, the song became a top ten hit in fifteen countries, while reaching the top of the charts in New Zealand and Ireland. In the United States, "Live While We're Young" debuted at number three on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, marking the second-highest bow among all UK acts, outpaced only by Elton John's number one arrival with "Candle in the Wind 1997".

Sheppard are a six-piece indie pop group from Brisbane, Australia. Formed as a duo in 2009 by siblings Amy (vocals) and George Sheppard (vocals/keys), the group slowly expanded to include their sister Emma Sheppard on bass, along with friends Jay Bovino (vocals, guitar), Michael Butler (guitar), and Dean Gordon (drums). Featuring a buoyant mix of strong harmonies and catchy, uptempo pop, the band released its self-titled debut EP in August 2012 and quickly expanded its touring horizons, playing festivals in America, South Africa, and the U.K.

By the following summer, their EP had peaked at number 18 on the Australian charts and they had been nominated for an ARIA music award. In February 2014 they issued the single "Geronimo," which shot to number one at home while also gaining traction in Europe and beyond. Prior to recording their first album, Sheppard signed with Decca Records internationally, yet remained independent in their home country. Released in July 2014, their debut LP, Bombs Away!, was a major success, reaching number two on the Australian charts before getting a worldwide release a few months later. The single "Geronimo" charted across Western Europe as well as in the U.S. and Canada, and hit number one in Australia.

The first single off their sophomore album, "We Belong," appeared in late 2016 and was followed the next spring by "Keep Me Crazy," which returned them to the Australian Top 40. Finally, in 2018, they delivered the full-length Watching the Sky, which also featured the Australian chart-topping, gold-certified single "Coming Home."

Description : Midge Ure - Dear God (Official Music Video)

-

Answers to Nothing, released 22 August 1988, is the second solo album by former Ultravox frontman Midge Ure. It was the first release by Ure following the demise of Ultravox. As a solo artist, Ure only hit the singles chart once in America with the single 'Dear God'. It reached #6 on the US Billboard Mainstream Rock chart and at #4 on the US Billboard Alternative Music chart in 1989. Midge filmed the promo-video to "Dear God" in Los Angeles. The track "Sister and Brother" was a duet with Kate Bush. The track "Homeland" is written about Phil Lynnot.

Midge said about the album: "I didn't actually mean to write a reflective record. In fact, when I started writing I had no idea what was going to come out. But things have changed so much for me in the last three or four years. There are a lot of things I worry about, things that affect me more now that I have a family."

Coming on with a staccato delivery like 2 Chainz, but with material that is much more hardcore, Detroit MC IceWear Vezzo was a member of the Green Guyz crew who went solo in 2012. Born Chivez Smith in Detroit, some of Vezzo's close relatives and siblings lived in Minnesota where they formed the hip-hop group the Green Guyz. Vezzo ran his own Detroit-based version of the Green Guyz with the blessing of the original crew, but after a few regional hits, the MC decided to go it alone. In 2012 he dropped his debut mixtape The Clarity, while 2013 saw him release Clarity 2: Can't Stop the Count, featuring the breakout single "Money Phone." The track also appeared on his 2013 album The City Is Mine, and The Clarity 3 landed in 2014 and featured Vezzo's fellow Green Guyz cohort Webbo among its guests. He also issued the Solitaires album that year on his birthday, which happened to be Halloween, while the release of The Clarity 4 kicked off 2015, a year that saw him hit with the single "Moon Walken." The album Moon Walken followed in 2016. 2017 saw the release of the Price Goin' Up mixtape, which featured collaborations with Philthy Rich, Mozzy, BandGang Lonie Bands, Rocaine, and more.

Live at River Plate is a live concert film documenting AC/DC’s Black Ice World Tour. The DVD includes footage from three concerts performed in December 2009 at the Estadio Antonio Vespucio Liberti in Buenos Aires, Argentina, which is the home stadium of Argentinian football club River Plate. It was directed by David Mallet, with Rocky Oldham as producer. The recording of the concerts required the use of 32 HD cameras; a company called Serpent Productions was responsible for filming and then producing the footage of the concerts. It was also the band’s last live album to feature rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young, and bassist Cliff Williams; Young, before his retirement from touring due to dementia five years later and his death in 2017, and Williams, who later left the band due to his retirement from the music industry in 2016.
