An eclectic indie rock act from New York, Dirty Projectors are a band of contradictions. Creating music that is at once challenging and accessible, Dirty Projectors' recordings are full of engaging melodies, thoughtful arrangements, and polished harmonies that are punctuated with angular stylistic shifts, wiry guitar work, and lyrics whose themes sometimes run counter to the sounds they accompany. The brainchild of vocalist, songwriter, and instrumentalist Dave Longstreth, Dirty Projectors first caught the attention of indie rock followers with 2004's Slaves' Graves and Ballads and 2005's The Getty Address, while 2007's Rise Above found them reworking songs from Black Flag's back catalog in truly unexpected ways. While Rise Above earned the group plenty of press, it was 2009's Bitte Orca that was their true critical and popular breakthrough, a commercial success that also found Longstreth and his collaborators writing and performing at the peak of their powers.

In December 2019, Dirty Projectors released Sing the Melody, a live-in-the-studio set that found the touring version of the band performing highlights from the Lamp Lit Prose tour. Along with six songs from the Dirty Projectors' catalog, the album featured "Knotty Pine," which Dave Longstreth wrote in collaboration with David Byrne, and "FourFiveSeconds," the Rihanna/Kanye West/Paul McCartney hit that Longstreth helped write and produce.

Shirley Elizabeth Collins MBE (born 5 July 1935) is an English folk singer who was a significant contributor to the English Folk Revival of the 1960s and 1970s. She often performed and recorded with her sister Dolly, whose accompaniment on piano and portative organ created unique settings for Shirley's plain, austere singing style.

She returned to recording and in November 2016, Collins released Lodestar, her first new album in 38 years. Earning two BBC Radio 2 Folk Award nominations for the work, considered her best by some, she found this late success highly improbable, saying: “I never believed it could happen. It’s a bit of a miracle, really.”

Lodestar was followed in July 2020 by another album of new material, entitled Heart's Ease. The album included re-recordings of some songs she had sung in her twenties, such as "Barbara Allen". In a five-star review, The Guardian described it as "...a more confident follow-up [to Lodestar]", saying, "The veteran singer’s comeback really takes wing with this impeccably judged set."

AD INFINITUM on “Fire and Ice”:
2020 started with its amount of disappointments. Our plans got cancelled and we were very sad that we couldn’t present our debut album the way we initially wanted to. But in the end not being able to play live shows in front of an audience forced us to be more creative and to produce more content to share with the world! And that’s what we did. "Fire and Ice" is the first result of this work. Other surprises will come later this year including a complete live show on October 9th!

Ad Infinitum is a Swiss symphonic metal group led by powerhouse vocalist Melissa Bonny (Rage of Light, Warkings). Springing to life in early 2018, the group, which also consists of Niklas Müller, Jonas Asplind (Follow the Cipher), and Adrian Thessenvitz, unleashed its rousing debut single "I Am the Storm," later that year. Upon inking a deal with Napalm Records, Ad Infinitum headed into the studio to begin work on a full-length debut. The resulting Chapter I: Monarchy, which employed a lethal blend of neck-snapping power metal riffs and fist-pumping symphonic metal grandeur, arrived in early 2020.

It felt so special to be given this unique view of Dublin City while it was at a standstill. This video represents the longing I feel for playing music for people. I miss it so much, and I want this video to take you on a journey back to the way things were when we got to sing together. Equal parts rustic folk and soulful grit, Ireland's Dermot Kennedy offers his own blend of passionate, introspective songwriting in a vein similar to fellow countryman and forebear Glen Hansard. A native of County Dublin, Kennedy began writing songs in his teens, eventually releasing the EP Dancing Under Red Skies in 2013. Honing his craft over the next few years, he found viral success with his single "After Rain," which racked up millions of streams in 2016. Kennedy's follow-up EP, 2017's Doves & Ravens, signaled a more pop-oriented approach with contributions from some heavy-hitting industry players like co-songwriter Charlie Hugall (Låpsley, Florence + the Machine) and producers Stephen Kozmeniuk and Carey Willetts. In 2018, Kennedy collaborated with legendary hip-hop producer Mike Dean for his third EP, Mike Dean Presents: Dermot Kennedy, which inherited some of the poppier sounds of Doves & Ravens, as well as pulling from genres like hip-hop and R&B. The tracks from these EPs, alongside various singles, were compiled onto Dermot Kennedy, a 2019 compilation album. This was followed by two further singles, "Lost" and "Outnumbered," the latter of which marked Kennedy's debut in the U.K. Top 40 singles chart. Both of these were included on his debut album, Without Fear, which was issued in September of that year. 2020 saw the release of the EP Lost in the Soft Light, a set of live, stripped-down versions of songs from Without Fear.

JeGong - "Stable Off" [Rock & Alternative]

Stable Off

"Stable Off" music video by JeGong
Added: 19-08-2020
Genre : Rock & Alternative
Description : JeGong 'Stable Off' Music Video

"Stable Off", taken off of JEGONG's debut album "I".
Out October 16 via Pelagic Records.

Order here:

JEGONG is the amalgamation of two distinct forces within post-rock and heavy music, Dahm Majuri Cipolla, drummer of MONO (Japan) & Watter, and Reto Mäder of Sum Of R. Together the pair is readying their debut longplayer I for release on October 20th via Berlin-based Pelagic Records, helmed by members of beloved post-metallers The Ocean. Bursting with new ideas while tipping their hat to legends of yore, the duo’s energies focus on the crossroads between Krautrock, ambient and post-rock, bringing to mind acts ranging from Ash Ra Tempel, GAS, Cluster, Mogwai and more while blazing trails with their electronic-forward approach.

JEGONG, named in tribute to a track by Cluster’s Dieter Moebius, was formed by shared musical influence and a friendship developed during a European tour when Sum Of R and Cipolla’s band Watter intersected during the former’s routing towards the highly respected European festival Roadburn. During their encounters, the pair bonded over the musical output of the early 70s, specifically the intersection of electronic music and boundary-pushing experimentalism found in Krautrock that gave rise to classic acts like Can, Faust, Tangerine Dream, Neu! and more. In this spirit, if not also musically, is where the soul of the JEGONG project lies– melodic, genre-pushing, fascinating and honoring the past while looking toward the future.

The classic Krautrock movement may provide the bedrock for all that is JEGONG, but the project is far from a “worship” band. Instead of aping core elements of the movement, the duo used the style as a launch pad to move into uncharted realms– thereby conjuring the original, truly bold spirit of the style. The result is a record without inhibition– delving deep into psychedelia, ambient, repetition, post-rock and even elements of dystopian sci-fi soundtracks like Blade Runner and Metropolis during the LP’s 70+ minute runtime. "With JeGong we don't want to copy the Krautrock style,” reiterates Mäder. “We see our project more as a creative playground to celebrate the playful and experimental approach from earlier Krautrock using organic sounds and textures from analogue sounds to explore mood.”

Created in the tail end of 2019, the LP was an exercise in social distancing with Reto Mäder recording all of the instrumentation at Hinterzimmer in Bern, Switzerland and Dahm Majuri Cipolla adding in the drums at BC Studio in NYC with Martin Bisi (Swans, Sonic Youth), where it was also partially mixed. With additional mixing and mastering taking place in Finland with Jaakko Viitalähde (Oranssi Pazuzu, Dark Buddha Rising), the wholly remote record presented a challenge in creating a collaborative effort while separated by half a world at every turn. “It was pretty interesting doing the tracks separated by many many miles between Switzerland and the U.S.,” recalls Cipolla. “For this particular collection of songs Reto would send me these ideas and I would come up with rhythmic patterns to fit. We wanted a combination of atmospheric sounds/progressions over rhythmic pulses and minimal, and sometimes repetitive, drumming.” And though the pair never shared a room, that also had it’s advantages as well. “You pay much more attention to sound as a common language,” explains Mäder. “Music takes on different forms according to the conditions in which it was recorded– whether that’s rooms, distance and time. We’re excited to also showcase another form of our songs– bringing them to the live stage."

Consisting of 14 tracks, the debut effort from JeGong is emblematic of the adventurous spirit at the dawn of electronic music converging with the wide-eyed wonder toward experimentation found at the height of the psychedelic movement. Using processed guitars and heavily manipulated synths, Mäder creates vast atmospheric architecture in which Cipolla’s tasteful yet propulsive percussion adds a backbone and the unexpected twist. The combination pays homage to the greats of yesteryear while adding influence from artists ranging from Grouper to Sunn 0))) to Zombi. JEGONG not only tips its hat to the Krautrock era, but also reimagines the movement with new approaches and updated ideas. “To me, it’s about our mutual love for 70’s German music without being blatant about it,” comments Cipolla..”It’s a tribute but it’s done our way– honoring these heroes in the only way we can.”

Berlin-based the Ocean Collective (also known as the Ocean), is a forward-thinking extreme music ensemble led by founder, guitarist, composer, and conceptualist Robin Staps. Their sound is a hybrid comprised of progressive, atmospheric sludge, doom metal, and post-hardcore. Almost all of their music is conceptual, obsessed with geologic, pre-historic, and philosophical themes -- sonically, much of it is ferocious in execution, weaving organic and electronic sounds and samples. With an ever-changing lineup of various on-and-offstage musicians and visual artists, the relentlessly touring group have become well-known for their immense, mind-expanding live shows. Since 2005, their releases have been issued by Metal Blade in the U.S. and their own Pelagic label in Europe. Their best-known offering, 2007's Precambrian, is musically brutal and intellectually brainy; its songs are steeped in arcane and scientific knowledge of the earth's geology.

In 2000, Staps surrounded himself with fellow guitarist Andreas Hillebrand, bassist Jonathan Heine, drummer Torge Liessmann, percussionist Gerd Kornmann, and a variety of individually specialized vocalists, including Nico Webers, Sean Ingram, Nate Newton, Thomas Hallbom, and Carsten Albrecht. Inspired in part by the progressive explorations of Americans Neurosis, and wishing to compose brutal heavy metal containing lighter, atmospheric elements under strictly orchestrated parameters, the group issued two demos in 2002 Islands/Tides and Queen of the Food-Chain. They signed to Make My Day for 2003's five-track extended EP Fogdiver and followed it up with Fluxion in 2004. By this time, dozens of different musicians had been through the band's ranks. 2006's Aeolian -- recorded at the same session as its predecessor -- was their debut for Metal Blade. Both albums have been described as "doom soundtracks." The hard-hitting, prog-tinged Precambrian arrived in 2007 and signaled the beginning of the Ocean's modern era. A double album, it combined sludge with progressive music and a grandiose, sometimes orchestral vibe clothed in extreme, visceral heaviness. For 2010's Heliocentric and Anthropocentric (released just five months apart), vocalist Loïc Rossetti (who sings rather than growls) replaced Albrecht and helped to shift the band's focus toward a more spacious approach with larger textural and dynamic shifts. In April of 2013, the Ocean released their most ambitious undertaking yet in Pelagial. Written to be performed as a single 53-minute conceptual work, its various sections virtually interact with one another. The package contained both vocal and instrumental versions of the album. The Ocean underwent lineup changes after the album and during its five-year tour. Drummer Luc Hess was replaced by Paul Seidel, and Australian guitarist Damian Murdoch took over from Jonathan Nido. They also added cello player Dalai Theofilopoulou, pianist Vincent Membrez, and Peter Voigtmann on synths. Their first release with the extended roster was Transcendental, a split album with Japan's Mono, issued as a preview to a joint European tour (the Ocean were still touring Pelagial), and to celebrate that Mono had signed to Pelagic. The long player included one extended track from each outfit. "The Quiet Observer," the Ocean's contribution, was based on Gaspard Noe's controversial film Enter the Void. The split was issued at the end of October. After the Pelagial tour finally ended, Staps, as was his custom, retired to a secluded cabin near the ocean and wrote the band's next album.

The Ocean entered the studio in February of 2018 and began recording the two-part Phanerozoic. Based on the eon that succeeded the Precambrian supereon and spanning a 500-million-year period leading to the present day; it witnessed the evolution and diversification of plant and animal life on Earth, and the partial destruction of it during five mass extinction events. Conceptually and musically, the double-length Phanerozoic marked the band's first look back; it is the missing link between the albums Precambrian and Heliocentric/Anthropocentric, and was designed to be released over two different years. Recorded and mixed by Jens Bogren, the set's first single, "Devonian," also featured Katatonia's Jonas Renkse on lead vocals. Phanerozoic I: Palaeozoic was issued in November of 2018, with the second part due in early 2020.

English electronic dance musician Duke Dumont spins hypnotic house fit for clubs and festival stages alike. The Grammy-nominated DJ emerged in the 2000s, bolstered by hits "Need U (100%)," "Ocean Drive," and "I Got U," which all topped the U.S. dance charts and others across the globe. His debut studio effort, Duality, arrived in April 2020.

Born Adam George Dyment in Harrow England, he surfaced in 2006 with a buzzing, whip-cracking remix of Mekon's "Yes Yes Y'All." The London-based producer and DJ, inspired by "fidget house" figure Switch (M.I.A., Major Lazer), continued to increase his exposure through remixes for the likes of Late of the Pier ("Bathroom Gurgle"), Bat for Lashes ("Daniel"), and Lily Allen ("The Fear") prior to releasing his first DJ mix album, Fabriclive 51, in 2010. Dyment continued to be in demand as a remix producer -- in 2012 alone, he handled tracks by Bonobo, Santigold, and AlunaGeorge, among others -- but he also produced a hit of his own in March 2013 with the Grammy-nominated "Need U (100%)." Co-produced by Futtize and featuring vocals from A*M*E, the track, reminiscent of early-'90s crossover house, topped the U.K. pop chart. One year on, in March 2014, Dyment hit the U.K. number one spot once again, this time with the Whitney Houston-sampling track "I Got U." The Jax Jones-featuring track became his second to receive a Grammy nomination and was certified platinum in the U.K., Australia, and Italy. More well-received singles followed, including 2014's "Wont Look Back," 2015's "Ocean Drive," and 2017's "Real Life" featuring Gorgon City and Naations. In 2018, Dyment returned with the track "Inhale," featuring Ebenezer. The following year, he returned to the top of the U.S. dance chart with his sixth number one, "The Power" with Zak Abel. His seventh chart-topper, the '90s-house-indebted "Therapy," kicked off 2020. That April, he released his official full-length debut, Duality, which merged some of his biggest hits with previously unreleased tracks.

Too High

"Too High" music video by Justine Skye
Added: 19-08-2020
Genre : R'n'B, Soul, Funk
Description : Justine Skye - Too High

Quarantine shot video entirely on a drone, just two takes in the deserted California mountains “Too High” by Justine Skye is meant to feel very euphoric and trippy, the heartbroken girl that stumbled away from a party and drunkenly runs through her emotions on this past relationship.

Directed by: Alex "Grizz Lee" Loucas
Shot by: Carlos Mason
Creative Direction by: E&E

Hair: Ricardo Roberts
Make-up: Rebekah Aladdin

Singer, songwriter, and model Justine Skye is known for her dance-oriented R&B and hip-hop-influenced sound. Born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1995, Skye first gained notice in her teens when she tagged along with her mother, an entertainment lawyer, to a music panel held by performance rights organization BMI. During the question-and-answer session, Skye surprised everyone in attendance by asking to sing. In front of various music executives, she performed a cover of Sam Sparro's "Black and Gold." She subsequently took singing lessons and honed her songwriting, then worked with August Rigo (Justin Bieber, One Direction, Musiq Soulchild) and Eric Hudson (Kanye West, Diddy, August Alsina). Their sessions led to Everyday Living, a confident contemporary R&B EP released on Atlantic in August 2013. The brief collection featured a cover of Aaliyah's "I Don't Wanna."

A year later, Skye returned with the slow-jam single "Collide," a DJ Mustard production that involved a guest verse from Tyga. Her second EP, Emotionally Unavailable, appeared in 2015. The following year, Skye returned with her third EP, 8 Ounces, featuring songwriting collaborations with the-Dream and Tricky Stewart. The EP included the track "Fun" featuring Wale. In 2018, Skye released her debut full-length, Ultraviolet, which featured the single "Lil' Boy." A stand-alone single, "Build," featuring Arin Ray, arrived in 2018. Parting ways with the Roc Nation label, Skye returned in 2020 with the independent EP Bare with Me.

A refugee. A janitor. A genre-defying artist with over five million monthly Spotify listeners. GASHI has a lot of labels. “I am the trap Phil Collins,” he told the New York Times last year. That’s when the career of the Libya-born citizen of the world (he’s lived in 24 countries) was in full blow-up mode. He shared Jimmy Fallon's stage with G-Eazy. He dropped his self-titled debut album, ‘GASHI,' a record that features the Afrobeat-tinged French Montana and DJ Snake collab, “Creep On Me.” The vid for that one passed 20 million views a while back. And 2020 finds the 30-year-old making more moves. The new ‘1984’ album features tons of bouncy synths, and an appearance from '80s icon Sting. Check the noir style of this "Lies" Ctrl At Home performance. It matches the song's official vid, and, when it hits you, GASHI’s voice and the mood it creates will take you far away.

Fluidly switching between tough rapping and yearning, sentimental crooning, GASHI delivers personal, introspective lyrics over hazy, atmospheric synths and trap beats.

Born Labinot Gashi in Libya to Albanian parents, he spent his childhood in several African and European countries before moving to Brooklyn in the late '90s. Rap music helped him learn English, and eventually he decided to pursue a career in music. After dropping out of college, he started working on a mixtape as the Kid Gashi. Later, he shortened it to just Gashi, and then modified the formatting to GASHI. Following the 2011 mixtape Last of a Rare Breed, he formed the group Moxy in 2012, in addition to releasing the single "Rocket." Mixtapes I'll Be Right with You (2013) and 4Play (2014) followed. GASHI's Stairs EP appeared on the Order Label in 2016. He also made two appearances on DJ Snake's Encore album, including "Oh Me Oh My," also featuring Migos and Travis Scott. GASHI's 2017 "Disrespectful" single ended up being his biggest hit so far, racking up millions of streams.

The following year, his singles included "Creep on Me," featuring French Montana and DJ Snake. He released several singles throughout 2019, including "My Year" with G-Eazy, "Roses," and "Safety," again featuring DJ Snake. GASHI's self-titled debut album arrived that September via RCA Records. After featuring on Felix Jaehn's "Sicko" in early 2020, he released his own single, "Cabin Fever."

Niles Hollowell-Dhar, known by his stage name KSHMR, produces big room electro-house that is heavily influenced by his Indian heritage. The California-based producer first found success as part of the pop-rap duo the Cataracs, who produced hits for Far East Movement, Dev, Snoop Dogg, and New Boyz during the early 2010s. Freeing himself from the expectations of the pop world, he anonymously debuted his EDM alias KSHMR in 2014, publicly confirming his identity the following year. He has released dozens of singles, including collaborations with Tiësto, Hardwell, and R3hab, in addition to EPs such as 2015's Paradesi, 2016's interlude-heavy The Lion Across the Field, and 2017's Materia.

In 2018, KSHMR teamed up with singer Sidnie Tipton for the acoustic pop-oriented single "House of Cards." "Doonka," a free track featuring Mr.Black, was influenced by trap. This was followed by "Carry Me Home," a progressive house track featuring vocalist Jake Reese.

The Washboard Union is a Canadian country music group from Vancouver, British Columbia led by principal members David Roberts, Aaron Grain (aka Brett Ellis) and Chris Duncombe.

Aaron Grain and Chris Duncombe met in Kelowna, British Columbia at age 15 when Duncombe's father began dating Grain's mother. Duncombe and Grain eventually moved to Vancouver, where they met David Roberts, who was living in a Point Grey mansion. The three began writing and singing together. They originally performed under the name Run GMC. Their debut album, The Washboard Union, was released in 2012 and produced by Garth Richardson and Bob Ezrin.

In January 2015, The Washboard Union recorded an extended play, In My Bones, at RCA Studio A in Nashville, Tennessee with producer Trey Bruce. It was released by Slaight Music/Warner Music Canada on July 10, 2015. The first single, "Some Day", went top 40, and the second and third singles, "Maybe It's the Moonshine" & "Shot of Glory", reached the top 10 and top 5 respectively on the Billboard Canada Country chart. In October 2015, The Washboard Union won the British Columbia Country Music Association Award for Roots Canadiana of the Year.

The Washboard Union's next album, What We're Made Of, was produced by Matt Rovey (Zac Brown Band, Dean Brody) in Nashville and Jeff "Diesel" Dalziel in Toronto and Vancouver over the winter of 2017/18. The album’s first single, “Shine”, was the band’s third Top Ten Country Radio hit which they performed live on the Canadian Country Music Awards and walked away with a CCMA Award for 2017 Roots Artist of the Year.

In 2018 the group performed in Liverpool, Nova Scotia at the Queens Place Emera Centre.
