Taking cues from both the politics of the riot grrrl scene and the intricate, moody guitar-based sound of early-'90s Pacific Northwestern indie bands like Sleater-Kinney and Autoclave, Chastity Belt balanced smart, edgy music against lyrics that were often filled with goofball wit and feminist satire on their 2013 debut, No Regerts. Principal songwriter Julia Shapiro moved into deeper and more personal themes on their third album, 2017's I Used to Spend So Much Time Alone, while their music became more nuanced and sophisticated.

Chastity Belt formed in Walla Walla, Washington, in 2010. The band consisted of lead vocalist/guitarist Julia Shapiro, bassist Annie Truscott, drummer Gretchen Grimm, and guitarist Lydia Lund. The group quickly integrated irreverent humor into their seemingly serious musical presence. Apart from witty and cutting lyrical content, the band named their first locally circulated demo recordings Fuck Chastity Belt and later shot press photos that portrayed Shapiro wearing a chastity belt made out of a raw steak. They continued this trend when releasing their proper debut, No Regerts, in 2013, subtly but intentionally misspelling "No Regrets" as one might on a horribly, ironically botched tattoo.

The band toured heavily in support of No Regerts, and returned in early 2015 with sophomore album Time to Go Home on their new label home of Hardly Art Records. Chastity Belt traveled to Portland, Oregon, to record fresh material with producer Matthew Simms in the summer of 2016. The result was I Used to Spend So Much Time Alone, a more dour and personal third album that was released by Hardly Art in June 2017. After health concerns forced Shapiro to take a break from touring following the album's release, the band took a brief hiatus and Shapiro cut a solo album, Perfect Version, that Hardly Art brought out in June 2019.
The following September, Chastity Belt returned with their self-titled fourth album, which found the group refining the more mature musical approach that dominated I Used to Spend So Much Time Alone and Perfect Version.

Dritte Wahl is a German Punk rock band from Rostock in Germany.

Dritte Wahl (translated: "Third Choice") first performed in 1988. They play political punk rock and were doing it back in East Germany. The band was founded by Holm, Busch´n, Gunnar and Krel. However, bass player Holm left Dritte Wahl in 1991 and the remaining line-up consisted of Busch´n (vocals, bass, + 2005), Gunnar (guitar, vocals) and Krel (drums) back then. Their lyrics often contain personal or sociocritical lyrics with left-wing impact.

In 1998 the band founded their own record label under the name Rausch Records, that was later renamed as Dritte Wahl Records.

On 17 January 2005, Busch´n died of stomach cancer aged 35. The remaining members didn't want to disband, but to continue their career (as it was also Busch´n's explicit wish).

Since 19 April 2005, Stefan - formerly guitarist for the Crushing Caspars - has been playing the bass.

Dritte Wahl are known for their energetic live concerts. Extended tours headed them through the whole of Germany and most European countries (including The Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, the Czech Rep., Serbia, Croatia, Slovakia and Hungary). In 2010 Dritte Wahl played some concerts in Cuba.

Description : Mother's Finest - Piece Of The Rock • TopPop

Mother's Finest is an American band from Atlanta, Georgia, founded by the singer couple Joyce 'Baby Jean' Kennedy and Glenn 'Doc' Murdock in the early 1970s, whose music style can best be described as a mix of rock, pop, funk and soul. In Mother's Finest, the vocal and instrumental talents of the band members were fused into a unique blend of funky and expressive rock. Joyce Kennedy, born Joyce Washington, made her first singles in the years 1963-1965. At sixteen she had a number 1 hit with the song "I still love you".

The band was never successful in the United States, in contrast to the Netherlands where, partly thanks to the deceased Dutch diskjockey Alfred Lagarde, who was a big fan of the group, concerts were well attended.

'Piece Of The Rock' ended up in seventh place in the Dutch Top 40 in 1978.

This video was first broadcast on 13 May 1978.

It was released on November 29, 2019, two days after the release of "Heartless". The Weeknd wrote and produced the song with producers Max Martin and Oscar Holter, with Belly and Jason Quenneville receiving additional writing credits. "Blinding Lights" peaked at number one in thirty-four countries, including the United States and Canada, where it became The Weeknd's fifth number one single on the Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100 for four and seven weeks, respectively.
