Over a decade would pass between the time of Brooklyn rapper Papoose making his first widely visible appearance on a Kool G Rap track and the release of his first proper studio album. It wasn't for a lack of drive, however, but due to hassles and false starts with various labels. Frustrated with the constant roadblocks labels seemed to impose, Papoose chose to build his music independently by prolifically releasing and distributing high-quality mixtapes. This struggle ultimately paid off with a devoted fan base enamored with his street-savvy persona and hard-edged East Coast rap styles. His long-completed debut album, The Nacirema Dream, finally saw proper release in 2013, and made a showing in the charts.

The Nacirema Dream was finally released in March 2013, nearly seven years after it was in its final stages of completion, on Fontana Records offshoot Honorable Records. The album was well received by fans and critics alike and boasted guest appearances by Mobb Deep, Erykah Badu, DJ Premiere, Jadakiss, and other stars of rap and R&B. It sold well and debuted at number 97 on the Billboard 200 chart. Papoose quickly followed the long-awaited studio debut with yet another mixtape, Hoodie Season, released in November 2013, and would issue mixtapes Hoodie Season 2 and Cigar Society before returning in 2015 with his second studio album You Can't Stop Destiny. During this time, Papoose and his wife, infamous rapper Remy Ma, were part of VH1 reality show Love & Hip Hop: New York. They stayed on for several seasons as Papoose readied his third studio album, Underrated, which saw release in February 2019.

Während Connor seine Leidenschaft für zeitgenössischen Garage und Surfrock einbringt, ergänzt Laura die Songs mit B52s-mäßigen Gesangsharmonien und ihrer Liebe für lo-fi Produktionstechniken.
Äußerst charmant und doch wild, kurzweilig und gut gelaunt, erinnert ihre Musik den „I Can Guarantee“-Blog an „so sympathische Zeiten, in denen sich Bands wie Hazel, Belly, Jale oder The Lemonheads auf dem Plattenteller drehten“.

Stunna 4 Vegas is a North Carolina rapper with a brusk, antagonistic approach influenced by fellow Southerners such as T.I. and Gucci Mane. Within a few years, he went from an aspiring teenaged MC to a respected underground figure to a major-label signee. After he built up a sizeable discography of mixtapes and stray tracks, and linked up with DaBaby on the single "Animal," Stunna made his commercial full-length debut with Big 4x (2019), and soon thereafter cracked the Top 30 of the Billboard 200 with Rich Youngin (2020).

Born Khalick Caldwell, Stunna started rapping during his last year of high school in his native Salisbury, a city between Winston-Salem and Charlotte. As simply Stunna, he made small strides independently with releases including 4 Way or No Way and Stunna Season 2. Later in 2018, he sought DaBaby for a guest verse on the single "Animal" and subsequently signed with the emergent Charlotte artist's Billion Dollar Baby label. Stunna and DaBaby continued to record together, and they both eventually landed major-label deals with Interscope. In May 2019, Stunna made his Interscope debut with the full-length Big 4x. A number 50 entry on the Billboard 200, the album featured DaBaby on "Ashley" and "Sticks," Offset on "4th of July," Lil Durk on "Durkio," and additional collaborations with NLE Choppa and Young Nudy. Stunna returned only eight months later with Rich Youngin. It reached number 29, supported by verses from DaBaby and Lil Baby on the lead track "Do Dat."

Sam Hunt marks a generational shift in country music, both in music and business. Hunt slips hip-hop phrasing and modern R&B rhythms into country-pop, signaling a progression from the boisterous bro-country that had previously defined the 2010s. "Leave the Light On" introduced this blend in 2014 and it became a smash, the first of his many number one singles on the country chart. This success paled in comparison to 2017's "Body Like a Back Road," which spent months at number one and broke the record for most weeks in the top spot. Released independent of an album, "Body Like a Back Road" showed that Hunt's rise was fueled by a mastery of the digital marketplace. As much as his music, it's this savviness that has marked Sam Hunt as the start of a new generation.

Sweden's Mörk Gryning (which means "dark dawn") was formed in the early-'90s by the multi-talented duo of Goth Gorgon (guitars, bass, keyboards, screams) and Draakh Kimera (vocals, guitars, keyboards, drums), who set about recording their ambitiously complex black metal on 1995's Tusen År Har Gått... and 1997's Return Fire. Unable to find capable musicians to round out a reliable touring lineup (among other problems), Mörk Gryning's career stalled for a few years leading up to 2001's long-awaited third opus, Maelstrom Chaos. Counting with the aid of guitarist Avatar, bassist Jonas Berndts, and drummer Nagys, the album's grand sonic vision did not disappoint, and countless new fans were converted to the group's cause during their powerful performance at the next year's Wacken Open Air Festival. Come 2003's equally diverse fourth effort, Pieces of Primal Expressionism, Mörk Gryning had returned to a more economical duo format, with only Aeon (synths, mellotron) added for support.

A singer, songwriter, composer, and illustrator who rarely performs live due to chronic anxiety, Keaton Henson emerged in the public sphere in the early 2010s with the critically acclaimed debut Dear. Originally self-released in 2010, the word-of-mouth response to its anguished, uncommonly intimate guitar songs led to a Sony reissue in 2012. He quickly expanded his musical palette, mixing in strings and full-band arrangements to 2013's Birthdays. After venturing into electronics for an eponymously titled 2015 release under the alias Behaving, Henson's seventh album, 2019's Six Lethargies, was an instrumental work for string orchestra that explored themes of mental illness.

About The Band:
Boy & Bear first garnered attention when they uploaded their song ‘The Storm’ to triple j Unearthed in 2009. Their debut album ‘Moonfire’ (2011) reached double-platinum sales, winning them five ARIA Awards and three songs in the triple j Hottest 100.

Their sophomore album ‘Harlequin Dream’ (2013) achieved platinum sales and #1 on the ARIA Album chart, staying in the top 10 for five weeks. The band followed this up with ‘Limit Of Love’ (2015) which resulted in their second ARIA #1 album debut.

After touring the world multiple times, becoming Splendour In The Grass favourites, performing on Conan O’Brien, and selling out two consecutive Sydney Opera Houses, this iconic Australian band returned with their triumphant release ‘Suck On Light’ (2019).

D Mob (or D-Mob) was one of the stage names used by British house music producer Dancin' Danny D (born Daniel Kojo Poku).

The 1988 UK hit "We Call It Acieed" hit No. 3 in the UK Singles Chart, and was one of a wave of acid house singles to enjoy success that year. The video was directed by Marek Budzynski. D Mob went on to have a further three Top Twenty singles in the UK during 1989 and 1990, which were "It is Time to Get Funky", which reached No. 9, "C'mon and Get My Love", which reached No. 15, and "Put Your Hands Together", which reached No. 7.

"We Call It Acieed" is an acid house-influenced song from A Little Bit of This, a Little Bit of That by D Mob featuring Gary Haisman. The song ranked #1 at Dance Music/Club Play Singles and #25 at Hot Dance Music/Maxi-Singles Sales in 1989. It reached number 3 in the UK Singles Chart.

The song is also featured on Dance Massive, Vol. 2 [Phantom], History of Techno [ZYX], Smash Hits 1988 and Acid House Anthems.

Zwei Gitarren, Bass und Schlagzeug: Der Sound von Kid Dad aus Paderborn bewegt sich druckvoll und dynamisch zwischen Grunge, Shoegaze und Post-Punk. Sie erinnern im Klang an Bands aus den Neunzigern und Nullerjahren, kopieren dabei aber nicht ihre Vorbilder.

"Anfangs wollten wir nur Grunge machen. Jetzt sind wir zu Alleswollern geworden", sagt Marius Vieth, Sänger und Gitarrist von Kid Dad. Ihre von Melancholie geprägten Tracks "explodieren" immer wieder an Stellen, wo man es nicht unbedingt erwartet. Mit einigen starken Singles im Gepäck und Perlen wie dem komplett selbst erdachten und produzierten Video zu ihrer Single "Naked Creatures" machte sich die Band erst einmal auf ins Tourleben.

Im Studio feilen die vier Perfektionisten auch mal wochen- oder monatelang an einem Song herum und erforschen mithilfe von Synth-Bässen, Delays und Soundwänden aus Gitarren an die Grenzen des klassischen Bandformats. Auf ihrem Debütalbum "In A Box" aus dem Jahr 2020 erforschen sie aus verschiedenen Blickwinkeln die Möglichkeiten einer Kiste.

I really wanted to combine different creative elements both lyrically and musically to transport you into a different world. Coming up somewhere between Wiz Khalifa's loose flow and hedonistic lyrics and Lil B's free spirit and love of alternative-flavored beats, Atlanta's Trinidad James went from viral to Def Jam signee, and all in his rookie season. Born Nicholas Williams in Trinidad & Tobago but raised in Atlanta, he was a 24-year-old manager of a downtown streetwear boutique when he decided to try his hand at rapping and become Trinidad James. That was late 2011, and in October of 2012, Trinidad dropped his debut mixtape, Don't Be S.A.F.E., which featured the viral hit "All Gold Everything." In December of that year, as the "All Gold Everything" video passed the three-million-views mark, Def Jam announced their signing of the rapper and released the "All Gold Everything" remix with verses from T.I., Young Jeezy, and 2 Chainz added to the track. The label gave the Don't Be S.A.F.E. mixtape an official release in early 2013. A second mixtape was released later that year. 10 PC Mild featured spots by Travi$ Scott, D4L, Danny Brown, Rich Homie Quan, Gucci Mane, and Childish Gambino.

James continued to drop mixtapes with the Gold Gang label, occupying 2015 with a trio of releases: The Wake Up, No One Is Safe, and Trips to Trinidad. He also appeared on a remix of Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk" and Cash Cash's "The Gun" with Dev and Chrish. In 2016, James returned focus to his own output, dropping the single "Just a Lil' Thick (She Juicy)" with Mystikal and Lil Dicky.

Brooklyn rapper Rah Swish came up as part of the drill scene that included other fierce talents like Pop Smoke and Curly Savv. He brought a deep tone, rapid-fire delivery, and intense energy to charged singles and mixtapes like 2020's WOO Forever.

Rah Swish was born and raised in Brooklyn and was rapping by his late teens. He got his start running with a New York-based rap collective called Never Broke Again (no affiliation to Louisiana rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again) and first started appearing on other artists' songs around 2016. From there, Rah Swish released several singles, gaining more exposure with tracks like 2018's "Lifestyle" and the 2019 group track "Wooo Walk," made with Fetty Luchiano, Sosa Geek, and Young Costamado. His 2019 mixtape Look What They Started (Reloaded) collected several of his best-known songs as well as some new material. In 2020, Rah Swish released WOO Forever, a new collection of tracks that included "Feel Like Pop," a tribute to his recently deceased friend Pop Smoke.
